- B-Boy Pocket and B-Boy Bruce Almighty face-off in the 2015 Red Bull BC One World Final in Rome.
Red Bull BC One is the most important one-on-one B-Boy competition in the world. Every year, thousands of dancers across the globe vie for a chance to represent at the World Final. Sixteen B-Boys will earn the right to enter into an all-out battle on the Red Bull BC One stage, but only one will be crowned the champion.
One day Pocket is going to blow all our minds by throwing down a full round of just footwork lol
"One day" XDDD
manuel chavira ... m impatiently waiting for that day
It’s gonna be hella weird tho seeing him do footwork
That day is far away, looking at how good his powermoves are right now and how he is still adding new moves to his sets and how he almost never crashes
The most I’ve seen pocket do is the six steps
Pocket is such a respectful bboy! He always gives props to what deserves props even if it is an intense competition. I have way more respect for him after watching him in BC One.
Yeah you're right. He had a nice character
even pockets slow-mo airflares are faster than anyone else's airflares lol
+James Oh You look like Vanoss.you know that?
Bruce's sets were so dope.
He has many tricks
.Big up to pocket. One of the best power movers
NizzyNizerson. Even if you call him a gymnast that certainly wasn’t low level
Bruce is doing something completely different, its awesome to watch
i don't understand why pocket who invested an infinity of time in his powermoves , doesn't invest 5% of his time into a bit of footwork foundation ? i mean he can top rock, so why not footwork too ? even if it's just some of that "look i can do footwork too" that issei does after he is done flying in almost every round, nothing to brag about, but it does complete you as a bboy, it's really too bad, imagine pocket doing some footwork variations, it would certainly help him a lot, it helps issei and it helped lil G too, powermoves alone can't win you a bc one, or as a matter of fact any major bboy competition....
+amine messai Pretty sure he won WPS 2015 with just power moves.
+MilkBookPro Yea Wps also known as World POWER MOVE SERIES lol
+Patrick Singkhoumkhong and? you see people doing some footwork before jumping into their power sets. gtfo bro.
+amine messai This is what some of you seem to forget. This is a dance. The dance is the most important. Now regarding Pocket doing powermoves? There are b-boys that stick with just footwork and leg work. Pocket likes power and toprock. But here is the thing. He wins battles. Whether it's power move battle or b-boy battle. He wins. AND he does his powermoves and freezes ON BEAT. So pocket is fine doing what he does. It's working. So why fix something that isn't broken? That's what he wants to do. Powermoves are so difficult to do to the beat, be original and not get tired. Pocket is challenging himself and the guy rarely messes up on the most difficult element in breaking in terms of physical strength and stamina
+B-boy StuntZ iv been dancing since 1989, i don't forget that this is a dance, and pocket is closest to a gymnast than he is to a dancer, those bboys that stick to footwork, not a single one of them has ever made it to a bc one final, never mind winning one or any major competition, unless it's a footwork competition, same for power movers,.
Pocket is not winning battles, therefore it's not working, name me any non power competition he won, the only reason he is even here is because he was invited as a wild care by bc one in order to spice things up, he never had a chance to begin with. pocket is an asset in his crew, he is very useful in crew competitions because he adds the "over powering" elements to his crew, therefore his crew can win with his help, however as a solo competitor, he hasn't won anything unless it's a power battle.. because it gets boring after a while, he is only a problem in the first round or two, afterwards his limitations start to be too much of a burden for him, we get it he can fly, but there is more to this dance.
The smart ones, like issei (who is now evolving into a complete bboy) understood the need for incorporating other elements of the dance in order to win competitions, even basic footwork can help balance things a bit, he started by doing some generic 2 and 3 steps after his power sets, it was almost funny but it did win him competitions, today he has more musicality his footwork is pleasing to watch, and he is now mixing power and style flawlessly , it's still not perfect because he still lakes originality but its working for him.
and yes powermoves are difficult to the with the beat, hitting a freeze once in a while (sometimes with the help of the DJ or out of pure luck) isn't dancing to the music. you can't dance to the music while being on your "hands" 100% of the time, that being said.. my arguments are valid for someone who is interested in winning solo competitions, if pocket thinks that being true to himself means he only wants to do power, and he is happy to be an asset in his crew, i'd say go for it, that is the be respected and appreciated of course.
The first time I saw Pocket dancing was 2009 at the IBE. I saw his attitude, thinking he would be kinda arrogant and full of himself like some bboys, But luckily he has become much more respectful. Always praises his opponents, touches hands in between and after a battle. With that attitude and those incredible moves, he deserves to be in the final 4 best bboys.
quang nguyen I agree that it's interesting he turned out to be pretty humble... Top 4... Yes
I think lil kev just triggered him back then at IBE and he wanted to show him he's not the dude you want to mess with. Also, he had to make a statement, being probably his first time on a stage that big at such a prestigious event.
Andrei Vernic Lil Kev is...very triggering
2:26 that face just says it all. "I got this"
Pocket destroys crew battles.. i'm not too sure about solo battles
yeah indeed but it's really unexpected to see him went to semifinal.
Pocket has the cleanest and quickest power moves, but he’s best suited for group battles
both did amaizin pocket needs footwork to win finals
pocket has insane moves, but man you need some toprock and footwork out there bro? u cant headspin all the way to the top man.
if you headspin, you're already a top
1:56 move of the year
PTMR XD
Dificulty 10 / 10 super power move
song?. como se llaman las canciones?
I believe that one day bboys will understand that breakdance isn’t the gymnastic only
Numerous bboys understand that
Rofl!! 0:41 Pocket like, "I know I lost this round."
+Eren Jaeger subscribe to my channel please
+Eren Jaeger
actually , that move doesn't impress me .
it's not that hard in technicality .
JWWJJW
^
Hedi Fariat
compare to the moves Pocket did , his moves is not that technical .
for me pocket won .
People comment on why Pocket doesn't invest time in footwork and top-rock but I find that's what makes him unique. I think it's great what Pocket is doing; he likes practicing and performing super speed power. He is an example of "if you do what you enjoy
you can become the best". It doesn't matter if the society may not recognize your hard work but I find that if you are the world best at something, you accomplished something very meaningful in your life and your name will be remembered in history. Don't get scared or influenced or bothered by the 'society' expectations and norm. 'Unique' ones will be always remembered. Now, Pocket may not win Red Bull BC One title but he will win the question "Who is the world's fastest powermover?".
pocket has no toprock, and or footwork. that's over 50% of what the judges watch. Bruce had all 3 plus style which is a win.
Pocket's skill and ability border on the supernatural. But the only flaw I see in his performance is that he tends to do the same or similar moves over and over. Whereas Bruce Almighty was mixing in a lot more variety in his performance.
I think we can all agree that Pocket is the best powermover in the history of bboying, what a beast!
+rospoho definitely
pocket was smoked by c-lil
pocket was smoked by c-lil
+Ronaldo T Losing one battle doesn't make less good, this is not boxe where guys win 50 matches in a row.
Not at all
Damn... Bruce killed me from 0:23 to 0:40
Same man
Bruce was smart and knew his opponent..usually Bruce does hardly any power moves in a lot of his sets but just to make sure he covered all his bases he threw them in like look at all my style and I can do that too..automatic win facing someone like pocket
Big fan of pocket but the guy really needs to work on something other than powermoves. Tho Bruce Almighty was insane, clear winner!
One of the cutest yet brutal battle to watch
Bruce Almighty is original, his power tricks footwork and toprock is nice. Pocket just power moves, not enough for win
1sr song?
A t first I thought this was kids battle hahaha respect to both of them :)
props to Bruce Almighty. And u guys need to know that doing powermoves every single round with that combos and ridiculuos speed like bboy Pocket is nearly impossible. Big respect for litte Pocket!
what pocket is better :(
at powermoves. and only at powermoves.
Just doing the same or similar power moves over and over again is not enough. You must be versatile.
One of Bruce his finest. He is so damn good! Pocket is impressive, but you know what he does after watching him 3 times.
Pockets legs look like arms.
brasileiro, mas fã do bruce ! original.
DJ marrrtin with his dope breaks. When will it be released?
Next week apparently, he told on his FB account
Mika L Yeah i've seen it :D
Pocket lacks variety, Bruce had it all
These two are absolute beasts.
I used to go to a BBoy club back in high school, and I had a friend that would do only powermoves. There are many that do that but they need to learn footwork/groundwork
pocket in slo-mo is like how fast everyone else does their airflares
what is the first music/track please?
pocket's repeating the same tape, that explains his lost
Where we still have respect and unity in the world. Big up all bboys
Bruce is a technical beast.
bruce got everything . thats why pocket loose here. but gotta giv e props to pocket guys he's a power move and have to go 3 round in each battle which is really freaking tired. he maded this far is enough for me
BRUCCCEEEEEEEEE omg!!!!!!!! real MONSTER
If this was about speed, pocket would win hands-down. This guy's rotations are so fast it's hard to count sometimes. Seriously his moves can be used to generate electricity.
1:53 dope!
Air flare, air flare, head spin, head spin, air flare, air flare, air flare
I can't believe Pocket made it this far -_-
If technical footworks is work more than powermove haha
Give it up for Pocket!!
that the track plays at the end when they show their tricks
How often do you see Pocket clapping for his opponent's powermove?
Always
people talking about how pocket should practice footwork, but any time invested elsewhere is guaranteed to have him lose that precision. His approach lets him commit more - win with powermoves - that you just worry about execution, difficulty
I've been bboying since 2005 and I still don't understand why they allow full time powerheads like pocket, cico, marcio, and The End enter 1 on 1's. Especially prestigious competitions like BOTY, UK, and Red Bull. They're phenomenal at what they do, but they seem like fillers at this point. They should pre-screen the Bboys and see if they have at least 12 solid sets without repeating. Allot of great well rounded bboys are left out because of these "fillers".
good battle!
Pocket amazing
I can't believe Pocket made it to the semis. I actually had a much nicer day knowing that LOL.
Is it because this event focus on versatile more than technic ?
has anyone seen pocket doing footworks?
yes.
@@mihailpisarov6849 ok.
1:40 LOL 😂
Even they do the slow mo pocket still look fast as hell
bbruce puro improviso e flow
I admit pocket is good at what he does " but it gets boring watching him " he will loose any day to a good BBOY with style and creativity " that's why people don't even do that anymore " its just lame . back then in 1994 every one wanted to do this crazy combos , but now it just got old , creativity is what runs the show now.
Someone know where I can find the t-shirt of Pocket, pls???
even in the slow motion afterwards, pocket is still so fast on his hands
outstanding moves pocket even he doesn't have footwork and only a little bit of toprock he has powerwork
Songs?
1:52 best set ever
How about pocket vs wing whos won on this battle
song ?
Dj marrrtin- sombre
Pocket is one of these bboys, who can breaking only with head down, legs up ! Power moves is not bboyng it's only a part of it !
Muy bien bruce
good sport
BC on is like magic you chould be artist dance and braik in the same Tim to win
Pocket wearing Jordan 11s!
POrtugal :D
Hugo Filipe Portugal mean? 😃
Bruce Almighty best!
i think bruce almighty took this round for sure. character, musicality, unique moves. You honestly have to separate yourself from all other bboys.
Dont get me wrong i love Pocket. He's a beast, his level and speed of powermoves is like no other. But to win 1 on 1 breakDANCING. I think you do need to actually DANCE. Hit the Music. Pocket can hit the beats with power. I just didnt really see it in this battle.
In a powermove battle pocket would of taken this easy. But sadly thats not what "Redbull Bc One" is.
Pocket is like an upside-down whirling dervish!
4:42 song??
The judges were hating lol
2nd nametrack pls pls
Why doesn't pocket use his old set.Where he puts hit leg into his shirt and switch legs while doing halos
pocket has the power moves but need to develope his footworks
1:34 lol
toprock and pocket aren't best friend
I think Bruce referenced one of pocket's OLD moves, ya know? I think I remember seeing it before...
Ah pocket could be a top b-boy (not in powers only) if he would practise some style.. I could imagine what kind of footwork he would do.. Im sure it would be soo fast too ^^
Na his legs are to short for fast footwork, he's gifted with being short and mostly torso making his rotations faster kinda like a top, that usually doesn't translate to speed of footwork
First song anyone?
DJ MARRRTIN - SOMBRE
+alex Martins Sim
Waths te name of the beat??
