Hi Manjunath, it depends on what type of vehicle you are developing and the application and market you are targeting. Could you elaborate on what type of automotive vehicle?
Hi Tom please reply...I have many doubts like a how do select min and Max temperature, duration of test to validate the product....As of now we just refer customer specifications and conduct the test but I want to know on which basis that specifications wrote...
@@AccuraMatrix, The shipping and handling tests from MIL-STD-810 will be good for all products you mentioned. Many of the MIL-STD-810 tests would also be good for commercial framing vehicles such as tractors and earthmovers. Many of the MIL-STD tests would also be good for commercial farming equipment including the solar radiation, high and low temperature, humidity, salt fog, etc. Look to develop a random over random vibration test profile for any track vehicles for vehicles that use tracked wheels. Be careful not to use the min and max temperature from MIL-STD-810 for Aerospace applications. I would focus on -40°C to +60°C, but again you need to tailor the test to the environmental worse case conditions that your vehicle will actually encounter during its operational life. When in doubt, ask your customer's for their thermal requirements. Also, take a look at the ISO 16750 standards. Those are optimal for automotive electrical and electronic systems.
Copied from a site that produces PC/104 cards: With in-house shock and vibe equipment, every design is tested and retested to a minimum of MIL-STD-202 for operation under shock and vibration. Does the 810 test series supercede this 202 test? 19:33 I guess it does. points 14, 23 an 27.
Can I refer this standard for automotive...?
