Surging pc etbs went out in under 15 mins. With the current demand, I see Prismatic PC going under 5 mins. If they limit to 2. The prices of sealed cases will soar.
I undertsand the shining fates deal. But I dont think we can compare a set with only a Charizard as a chase with a full Eeveelution set. Evolving Skies didnt even have all of the Eeveelutions in it. It was missing Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon because they were promos, and the Espeon Vmax. You can still find it in stores and booster packs are STILL almost quadruple MSRP. They printed Evolving Skies a TON! Prismatic Evolutions has all of them, along with this demand boom we are having, on top of just not the Eeveelutions...... I am not trying to be negative but if surging sparks sold out before release and Prismatic sold out day 1. This IS going to be a nightmare at first, middle, and last.
This! Surging sparks really isn’t that crazy of a set. If it came out as SV02 as Paldea Evolved or SV03 when Obsidian Flames did it would be low. But it didn’t, the fact surging sparks is sold out at distribution and distribution won’t get anymore in 2024 should be a tell tell sign of what’s to come with this set. Pokémon is going to try and reprint Surging Sparks I am sure. But it won’t be until after Prismatic comes out man. And then they are going to need to reprint prismatic evolutions but that won’t come for a WHILE after release because they need to print Surging Sparks! They are going to be 1 step behind and unfortunately if they don’t print quickly the prices will get too high to come back down to MSRP or close.

There is a crazy hype rn but the difficulty in pulling chase cards is completely different now than in the beginning sets of SV
100%. Shining fates doesn't even compare by even a small margin to Prismatic Evolutions. Including everything you just said above about all of the Eeveelutions AND 24 additional SIRs, you even have the Master ball holo chase in this one. This could literally be the best set that ever came out. Pokémon Co knew what they were creating here, and there is no way they will print as much as they did for shining fates. Even they learned their lesson about over printing. Combine all of this with the current hype in the space, and BOOM, Best Pokémon set ever created. I hope all of my preorders get filled! the worst part about prismatic is the moment I saw it, even before they announced the SIRS, I knew moonbreon was about to sky rocket and I'd finally justified getting my own copy 😭 and I had 2 PC etbs in my cart that vanished before I got to check out. This set might actually be the end of me. I can't open up anymore surging sparks because I'm too worried about prismatic, also would be a dream come true to get a surging sparks master set, I've never pulled my own chase card let alone won anything ❤ This channel is awesome and I love that you go through the effort of completing the sets with pack openings and not buying singles, shows a lot of love for cards
I never got to open evolving skies and was excited for PE because of that. The hype is deserved, but this is exhausting. I’m just glad that I got a preorder in (nothing crazy like everyone else, apparently, just like one of each product) and that at the very least, I’ll be able to enjoy that if this set gets to be unobtainable.

I initially was excited about the extra hype, it's fun to have more people talking about the hobby and all that. But surging sparks was a big turning point where it seems to have turned into crazy town and the balance is out of wack. Sets going up in price over time is very healthy but there's no reason anything should be over MSRP on release. Luckily for all of us this set releasing overtime will mostly likely mean there will be a time where everyone is focused on the next shiny thing so I'm just going to sit back and wait for that. I do really love the umbreon unfortunately so I'll have to figure out how to time that purchase lol.

After a 20 year hiatus, Surging Sparks was my re-entry into Pokemon card collecting. It's crazy how much has changed and how big the Pokemon community has become over time. That's why I'm glad I found out about your channel over 2 weeks ago as you have been a huge help to me in many ways as far as collecting Pokemon cards today. This is a great set but I haven't ordered any products as the prices are absolutely insane. As Danny keeps pointing out, patience is key and I personally prefer to wait for the partner Pokemon and Team Rocket set as I can still buy Prismatic Evolution when the dust settles.

Theyre called Eevee, and all of their evolutions are in the top 200 most popular pokemon except maybe 1 or 2 evolutions. I pre ordered everything I wanted day of release, hopefully we do get massive prints but the demand is there for a simple and very cute reason.

Apparently Japanese 151 has already restocked early and the print run was small and possibly the last print so now is possibly the lowest it will get so stock up now

OG 90's kid here. Looking at cards again. Still have my OG base sets, and I was that super weird kid who looked at my cars with a magnifying glass before trading or buying. I hate what's happening to the cards right now, kids fighting 40-something year old men.
Yeah Best buy even with limits just gets bottled. Target stocks but it goes within 5 mins. GameStop has started overcharging and sometimes they cancel your orders if you order too much. I worry smaller stores selling ahead of the curve and when the time comes they can't fulfill their orders
As a 90's kid, 151 was the set that brought me back into Pokemon. I had no idea what I was getting into when I bought that first box at Walmart. I was just like 'Oh! it's Mew!' I told myself that I just wanted to have the Mew card, because it was my favorite pokemon when I was a kid... And here we are now, trying to catch them all... Luckily, I saw your video about the reprints for 151! Hopefully the prices go down.
I'm lucky to have secured some stuff on preorder for MSRP. The scalping on eBay is rife. Booster bundle displays are already on sale for DOUBLE MSRP and these sellers don't even have them yet! I just want to be able to collect the set and maybe have 1-2 sealed products. Totally support Danny, don't overspend, try to be patient.

Shining fates is not comparable to Prismatic evolutions. They both have Eevee on the box, yes. However, that's basically saying Vivid Voltage is the same as Surging Sparks because they both have Pikachu on the box. The contents of the set are VASTLY different

As someone who hasnt been opening packs for a couple years now, but downloaded ptcgp, i got interested again and that includes for prismatic evolutions. This set will go crazy because ptcgp is bringing people back, and its an eeveelution set, so ofc it'll be amazing. In my opinion definitely even better considering IRs and SIRs. This will be a set like none other we've seen before
People could be like me Danny & not over worry about it. Personally I'm concentrating on the older sets I haven't even got no serging sparks it's no big deal . Last set I am collecting is twilight masquerade it's costing money be it packs or singles to try complete a set which since the 90s I've still not mastered a set. 😁👍 you always on top of the truth Danny. I remember when shining fates came out it did the same thing and people were charging and paying over msrp. You can get them still today at msrp or less.
Really respect your content and the honesty you talk with. Can you offer some insight and discuss the scalpers joining the hobby and making things sold out and increasing prices in unknown times. The future this will have for the hobby and how the hobby/pokemon can stop this becoming the same as scalped event/concerts and things instantly jumping above msrp like this trend has started! Thanks
After a year of this I think its best to (as a collector doing this for fun but wanting to thank myself later) rip whatever the most popular products are like 151 and Surging S. They will be out of stock frequently and when they are go buy a tin or pokeball somewhere with an app you can get cupons from. Ive bought many pokeballs and tins for $10 from CVS because I use their rewards program and watch my email. Then rip that Silver T or Fusion S and put away the Vivid V. Evolving S is an exception. I, personally, wouldn't rip it. As far as new merch like the Grand Adventure Collection I picked up today, I ripped the Surging S and Obsidian F and put the Stellar C in a zip lock with some Evolving S and Shrouded F.
As long as there will be a good availability of singles on the market from this set. Then I don't feel as stressed about missing out on sealed products. If though pokemon print it so much that you can buy products for a good price in the end. Then i would love to rip a bunch of packs of this set.
Im worried Prismatic is gonna explode like Surging Sparks did, $200 for a boost box and $100 for an ebt is insane after a couple of weeks of it being out :(
People forget or don't know that 151 was printed 3 times. I believe the last round was in late June. I would not doubt the same will happen with prismatic

I hope they bump up pull rates to obsidian flames level... if its 1:65 for a special illustration with 32 in the pool the odds you get something specific is basically impossible.
I dunno, honestly this video sounds pretty fomo-ish to me first of all, why would pokemon center not wanna print as much or more than shining fates if demand is a lot higher, and they instant sell out? secondly, if you already know the demand is that high, why don't you just put a purchase limit in your store when you list it? they would still sell out quickly if the demand is so high and you don't have to worry about extras right?

Just getting into the hobby for the first time since 4th grade. I'm a little shy about fully comitting. But I find myself buying a booster here and there. I need to officially get a binder for my cards at this juncture.
When i found out about this set it was already sold out everywhere LOL. Like i get a set being hype but c'mon. Reminds me when 151 was first talked about, that set also sold out everywhere. And look at it now
Im kinda just hoping to go to walmart the day of release and hopefully find somrthing. Otherwise, I am going to just wait a few months. With Christmas coming, I have more important things to worry about. That being said, this set is the most excited I've ever been for a set since evolving skies (which is my favorite). I love the eeveelutions, but with how expensive msrp is, I can't afford to overpay.
I'm looking forward to Prismatic, but I also really want to see what the Team Rocket set is about. I also love Pikachu, and I was excited for Surging Sparks until I saw the pull rates and how expensive it's gonna be to complete it.

You can only pre order booster bundles which don’t release until march 7th 2025. On release day, three will be no shortage of ETBs in stores.
I preordered a case of the booster bundles. Don’t mind waiting a little bit for peace of mind. But still gonna try to find more in the meantime 😂

Shining fates is not comparable to Prismatic evolutions. They both have Eevee on the box, yes. However, that's basically saying Vivid Voltage is the same as Surging Sparks because they both have Pikachu on the box. The contents of the set are VASTLY different
Good stuff Danny, thanks! As a casual collector with my kids this scalping thing is crazy. We want to be able to open up packs and have fun, but when things get bought out so fast and at high quantities it makes it tough!
As someone who hasnt been opening packs for a couple years now, but downloaded ptcgp, i got interested again and that includes for prismatic evolutions. This set will go crazy because ptcgp is bringing people back, and its an eeveelution set, so ofc it'll be amazing. In my opinion definitely even better considering IRs and SIRs. This will be a set like none other we've seen before

People could be like me Danny & not over worry about it. Personally I'm concentrating on the older sets I haven't even got no serging sparks it's no big deal . Last set I am collecting is twilight masquerade it's costing money be it packs or singles to try complete a set which since the 90s I've still not mastered a set. 😁👍 you always on top of the truth Danny. I remember when shining fates came out it did the same thing and people were charging and paying over msrp. You can get them still today at msrp or less.
the fact there is english pokeball and masterball reverse holo is going to help speed this up cause we wanted them with our 151.

Really respect your content and the honesty you talk with. Can you offer some insight and discuss the scalpers joining the hobby and making things sold out and increasing prices in unknown times. The future this will have for the hobby and how the hobby/pokemon can stop this becoming the same as scalped event/concerts and things instantly jumping above msrp like this trend has started! Thanks

After a year of this I think its best to (as a collector doing this for fun but wanting to thank myself later) rip whatever the most popular products are like 151 and Surging S. They will be out of stock frequently and when they are go buy a tin or pokeball somewhere with an app you can get cupons from. Ive bought many pokeballs and tins for $10 from CVS because I use their rewards program and watch my email. Then rip that Silver T or Fusion S and put away the Vivid V. Evolving S is an exception. I, personally, wouldn't rip it. As far as new merch like the Grand Adventure Collection I picked up today, I ripped the Surging S and Obsidian F and put the Stellar C in a zip lock with some Evolving S and Shrouded F.
Trying to get anything Prismatic is just impossible right now. Just out of stock everywhere :(

As long as there will be a good availability of singles on the market from this set. Then I don't feel as stressed about missing out on sealed products.
If though pokemon print it so much that you can buy products for a good price in the end. Then i would love to rip a bunch of packs of this set.

Prismatic is wild. When was the last time u seen pre-order prices high, it's like if you don't catch a msrp, it's 75 95 a box per etb wow!!

People forget or don't know that 151 was printed 3 times. I believe the last round was in late June. I would not doubt the same will happen with prismatic

The hype is the reason I pre-ordered the few products i did. I'm just looking to open some packs and get lucky with the sir cards. I'm not looking to flip or sit on it. It's a shame that demand is way too high that not everyone will get to enjoy it. Only because it involves eevee and it's evolutions. 🤷
Yep, that’s exactly where I’m at too- just want to enjoy opening some packs and not overpay for them, and maybe get a few cool cards if I’m lucky :)
I hope they bump up pull rates to obsidian flames level... if its 1:65 for a special illustration with 32 in the pool the odds you get something specific is basically impossible.

first of all, why would pokemon center not wanna print as much or more than shining fates if demand is a lot higher, and they instant sell out?
secondly, if you already know the demand is that high, why don't you just put a purchase limit in your store when you list it? they would still sell out quickly if the demand is so high and you don't have to worry about extras right?

dang, it's hard to be patient for those pretty cards as someone who's new to collecting, but it's already pretty hard to get cards without a heavy markup here in australia even without all the extra hype 😔

It's a crushing blow to brick and mortar stores when online only sellers can get wholesale accounts with major distributors. I can't wait to see the price gouging on whatnot when this set is released 😂

How quickly prismatic pre orders sold out on pokemoncenter broke my heart. Ive been saving up for this set since it was just a rumor and didnt even get a chance to order.
Spent $1500 CAD on preorders a month ago. Looking like I should resale sealed instead of opening them. But that's going to be tough... F it. I'll open everything 😂

Just getting into the hobby for the first time since 4th grade. I'm a little shy about fully comitting. But I find myself buying a booster here and there. I need to officially get a binder for my cards at this juncture.

Im kinda just hoping to go to walmart the day of release and hopefully find somrthing. Otherwise, I am going to just wait a few months. With Christmas coming, I have more important things to worry about. That being said, this set is the most excited I've ever been for a set since evolving skies (which is my favorite). I love the eeveelutions, but with how expensive msrp is, I can't afford to overpay.
