What a win and what a game and for sure what a series this was. A game ending double play to win it with runners at the corners man what an intense finish. Once again offense comes through with another olson home run also sean murphy and acuña with nice days as well. Charlie had a few struggles but was able to get just enough for the win. It got really intense in the end so to win it on a game ending double play was awesome. That’s another series win for atlanta as they take 2 of 3 in cincinnati. Got minnesota coming to town next, go braves #ForTheA
This was a fun series. Playoff like atmosphere throughout and all 3 games were very exciting and came down to the wire. The Reds were able to go toe to toe with the Braves. But the Braves found a way to hold on in the finale here to take 2 out of 3. Things definitely looking up for Cincy with their young talent and they look for real.
I think I grew half a head of gray hairs from this series. I dunno if I've been this tense in a series since at least that Mets series at the end of last regular season. Good stuff.
@KingJerbear Yet, the Braves have won 5/6 of the games. Earlier this year, the Braves swept the Reds while missing Harris, Travis, Arcia, and Iglesias, all while Ozuna was hitting .083 at that time. That's half the starting lineup gone, and they still swept the Reds against Greene, Lodolo, and Ashcraft. It's not as close as it would be if these two teams matched up directly. Don't let the close games fool you. Braves would (and have) handled the Reds this year.

Now, if Strider or Fried pitched against them (both who are better pitchers than Elder), expect the same 0-2 run outcome for 6+ innings. These games would be lopsided scores like 9-3 or 7-1 Basically, the Reds best, were close losing games against the Braves worst. Reds are just lucky they didn't get swept again in this series imo...good thing that they hit the 20yr that didn't start pitching till he was 17 years old. 🙄
What a series...what a season series. Matt McLain did all he could with his 5 RBIs in place of Elly De La Cruz finally getting stifled and his hit streak ending, but the Braves for the 5th time out of 6 was a run better than those fiery Reds. I better see y'all in the postseason, Cincy!! Don't lose steam. GG and GL in Baltimore and beyond. Braves, back home for a week against the Twins and Marlins before closing out the 1st half in Cleveland and Tampa. 😁😁

Braves have won 5/6 games against Reds this year...won 2/3 at Cincy here with their 3 worst starters. With Fried, Strider, Elder, and Wright, this wouldn't have even been close.
Another great series W for the Bravos, but a couple notes: - I've noticed our starters are extremely inefficient. It seems as though only Strider and Elder can at least finish the 6th. It took Morton 75 pitches to get 9 outs. - We need a closer. Iglesias is not that guy. I don't need a heart attack every time he comes in for the 9th.
Iglesias is the only closer we have at the moment. Being used too much. It would be nice to have another one, but with Chavez injured, Iglesias has to be that guy. He still got the save. Though to be fair, the Braves have always had issues with closing for many seasons. I would say since Kimbrel left. But yeah. Trade deadline getting either a decent bottom rotation starter or another closer would be nice. Also, we had issues with efficiency last season too.

Reds are def on their way up but got gifted facing two rookie pitchers in a row the Braves just moved up. If reds see Braves starting rotation they aren’t hanging double digits like the Braves can do against the reds starting rotation.

Why in American sports do you have to have a “call on the field” that takes priority one way or another? The umpire clearly couldn’t judge that early play at the plate, he clearly couldn’t see it. Even when he called it you could tell he was just barely scraping by to make a call. Those should just be automatically reviewed and the MOST LIKELY correct call should be called by the video umps. In cricket they just admit when they don’t know and send it to video umps for that judgment without making a call on the field.
