Checkout the Iplay mini pro, $130 8" android tablet, packing a Helio G99. Slightly better performance for a cheaper price. Smaller screen also makes it more portable.
there are some powerful tablets in the price range between 100-250 euros: 1. ALLDOCUBE iPlay50 Mini Pro = 150 euros 2. DOOGEE T30 PRO Tablet = 180 euros 3. DOOGEE T20 Ultra = 230 euros 1. 8,4 Inch , 16GB Ram , 5000 mAh and 1920x1080 Display 2. 11 Inch , 15GB Ram , 8580 mAh and 2560x1600 Display 3. 12 Inch , 32GB Ram , 10800 mAh and 2.4K Display All 3 with the Helio G99!
Fine setup right there, I feel compelled to it for some reason! 😅 With that said, the Lenovo M11, though not the strongest, is amazingly priced, perfect for the use-case you showed us, I might pick up two for my kids. I had bought the Alldocube iPlay 50 Pro but they both had their USB-C connectors come undone when removing their charging cable...
I've been pondering doing this with a Lenovo M9, which is an older 9" tablet. It's not the most performant tablet, but I think the smaller size makes it much more ergonomic that a larger tablet like the M10 or M11. The Samsung Tab A9 is another tablet I considered for this kind of setup. Now that emulation is 'legal' on iOS, an iPad mini could be ideal for this. Using an 8 inch tablet could help avoid the cludgy mess of using an expandable controller beyond its designed parameters.
This is actually entertaining because I recently tried this setup because I have an old Galaxy Tab S6 with SD 855. Out of all the retro consoles I find this setup very useful if I play 3ds games. Maybe it's because of my very bad eyesight that I like bigger screens. I do agree that it is a very sketchy setup and I have to be very careful when holding it or everything will just break. However, if you want an amoled tablet and willing to spend abit more, Amazon is selling it for around $275-300. It is more expensive but imo it's around the performance of rg556/rp4pro. Also if you didn't want to use the tablet you can always attach it to your phone.
@@AlmostIdiot1 I’m actually working on that, got to get all my roms together first. I still consider myself a beginner with emulation. I’m just glad Joey and other Retro UA-camrs give all these guides. If not for them I would be totally lost. 🤣
I’ve been experimenting with an iPad Mini and a BSP D8 Pro controller and the experience is pretty good! Since it’s Bluetooth I can use it in portrait mode which is great for Nintendo DS. Obviously I don’t get the same range of available emulators on iPadOS though. The controller easily fits the iPad so it’s nowhere near as janky as the setup used here.
I use a Galaxy Tab S6 with a Mobapad on 3D printed adapters. I just stream everything via Moonlight. It's awesome. I was using a Gamesir G8 setup like you have going here, and I have to agree -- the removal process is so scary! Especially if you're sitting on the couch, playing on your lap. Goodbye penis tip.
Can you actually get a 90 Hz refresh rate when you're streaming from a PC ? I can't seem to figure that out On my steam deck oled. The streaming Refresh rate seems to be capped At 60 Hz no matter what settings I tweak
Please could someone recommend a budget tablet that can be used for light work and also gaming that has a reasonably sized screen? Been eyeing up the Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2. Would be very grateful for any other suggestions!
There's the smaller and more affordable Lenovo M9 and M10. Samsung Tab S6 Lite is another good option along with the Tab A9. Also worth considering the base iPad, which I consider to have the best performance/price ratio.

@@EliasPfaiffer yeah the 8" form factor is my favorite. Works with the new Kishi Ultra for low latency USB c connection

You gotta try switch games on it, on my s10 with the same chipset many games are playable

This setup has to be done with the Y700 2023 (8'' tablet, SD 888)
I just modded my Gamesir G8 to use with my Samsung S9+ Tab....Its pretty awesome.

I wish the Odin 2 was 8" or a company would release a Snapdragon gen 2 device in that size - it would be my perfect emulation hand held...
Yes and yes! 🍻
Thanks 🎉
In your experience testing, do you believe that it would be fine for SNES and PS1?

Hi Joey, what emulators are you using for the tablet? :)
Hey, the typical ones, RetroArch, Dolphin etc. - can see my list here: joeysretrohandhelds.com/guides/recommended-android-emulators/
@@JoeysRetroHandhelds thank you, will take a look at it.

Something I care little about. Here is a comment to help.
Woah, it’s a like a massive phone
Crazy!
Any viewers watching, just get a BSP-D8 Pro.
No... Just no. These people are insane.
