      How to reduce the ticking noise?

    • @independentcontactors339
      @independentcontactors339 2 роки тому

      Lifter noise is good. These clearances get tighter over time...unless a cam bearing wears out then it gets looser. Also the timing chain slaps makes noise. Noise = good

      5w-40 Redline full synthetic oil fixes a lot of the normal noise.

    You are amazing. You don't say a word but I come away with a better understanding of details than most other videos where they talk non-stop. Excellent work. Your videos have helped me a lot and are very appreciated.

    After torquing head bolts at 36N*M, do you keep the same torque setting for 90 degree turns?

    • @MayoCarsDR
      @MayoCarsDR  4 місяці тому

      No

      @EpicFlippers 4 місяці тому

      @@MayoCarsDR Thanks for your response. Are the 90 degree turns done without a torque setting set?

    Only problem I saw on this video is that you failed to put the two short strips of sealer both above and below the edge of the head gasket at the location where the head and block meet the front timing cover. Toyota says this is a "Must Do" to avoid oil leaks at those two locations. Otherwise I really enjoy your videos and appreciate the work you do.

      @dougaustintx what type of sealer do I use for this application?

    • @dougaustintx
      @dougaustintx 8 місяців тому

      Use the real Toyota fipg sealer in a tube. It's about $24, and one tube will so a complete engine.@@populationentertainment460

    Um I went 180 after the first torque on my heads...instead of 90 then 90. Think it will be OK? Iam about to install timing cover

    I notice you didn't put silicone on the head gasket.Are you supposed to

      @MayoCarsDR say , someone forgot to put on silicone , what would happen? I think you know what I'm aiming at , lol but added silicone on the cylinder head edges .

    Why is he oiling the bolts?

    • @MayoCarsDR
      @MayoCarsDR  2 роки тому

      Applying oil keeps the bolts tight without making any noise

    • @busterboyd4125
      @busterboyd4125 2 роки тому

      @@MayoCarsDR I'd be concerned that the oil messes up the torque specs. I know with modern spark plugs they tell you not to apply anti-seize because it can throw off torque wrench specs.

    No RTV on any of the Gaskets? Service manual shows several spots to use RTV with gaskets such as the head and timing cover.

    Actually I see the sealer on the second head gasket. I guess you just didn't film the application of the sealer!!
