I'm 36 and I work with a 19 year old who reminds me so much of Sonny. I make sure I encourage his hopes and dreams whenever I can.
And let's all remember this was years before Hamilton. Lin has been incredibly talented. And this broadway show did really well... like really well. Actually George Washington in Hamilton played the young man with the Suit And Tie on in the movie in the Broadway version. Another thing I love about Lin. He keeps his people close to him. Like Adam Sandler. Ugh I could go on and on. It was a great musical.

I was worried about what Lin would do with his friends who are now too old to play those young characters. I was so glad that he still put them in there somewhere. Love Lin for that. And Christopher Jackson has a recurring role on a TV show. So he's not hurting for cash lol.
The original release date before the pandemic, was supposed to be June 20, 2020. So they were planning on doing what you said would be cool with the Fiesta poster.
Have you ever went to watch the Broadway version? (even just a bootleg), because I highly recommend watching it first so you get to appreciate the characters there, since characters like Ms. Rosario is totally removed from the movie version

Corey Hawkins was Dr Dre in the NWA movie. And they also tried to do a season of ‘24’ with him instead of Kiefer Southerland. Until I saw this, I had no idea he was a triple threat. Big time talent.
Bro I feel so lucky to have been able to see this Live in 2011 when I was a kid. I was so surprised a lot of musical fans and musical people who've reacted to this online either havent seen the show or had never even heard of it before Hamilton. They actually tweeked a lot of the song lyrics and dialogue and cut a lot of characters, as well as added some. But after seeing the story after so long, I still sang along in the theatre... when i wasn't crying. It truly is a fantastic show. Alza la bandera Mexicana!

YAYYY i was waiting for u to post a video related to in the heights, i just loved it! the songs, the characters, the plot! i still listen carnaval del barrio and basically all the ost on repeat!! west side story and in the heights were the musicals i was most waiting to see on the big screen. ith it's such an iconic musical, it will always be my favourite
Really enjoying all the In the Heights content! I know you’ve probably got a long list of songs you want to react to, but the Broadway nerd in me really want to ask if you plan on going back and finishing out listening to the OBC of in the Heights, maybe after you watch/react to the film? If only to see the changes made in the songs they kept, and to hear the ones that were cut (some of my favorites on that list being ‘Sunrise’, the Act 2 opening number, ‘Enough’ sung by Nina’s mom who doesn’t appear in the film at all*, and ‘Everything I Know,’ an emotional solo form Nina)
Again, I understand if there’s other stuff you want to get to/you’re getting tired of In the heights, but I figured I would ask just the once.
*technically, as the character is dead. But for a split second in the Rosario’s apartment, during ‘Breathe’ there’s a picture frame that has a picture of a woman in it-on the day of filming, Lin says he called the actress who played Camilla on Broadway and had her send a headshot to put int hat photo frame so she could still ‘be’ Nina’s mom. I tried to look for it on my second time seeing the film, but it really is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it thing.
Thanks for doing this! Adore this song and the choreography... tells so much for those of us who know about it but have never seen the stage production. Maybe do a review if you get to see the movie!
