    This was a real treat The 36th Chamber of Shaulin was on e of the first of many I would see from this company. And watching Gordon Lui especially in his Shaw brothers era was just amazing. His face and portrayal of a Shaulin monk was always convincing. He's just as interesting in real life when giving his interviews.

    Legend.
    The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin is hands down my ultimate favorite Martial Arts film of all time.
    (and not because I’m a WuTang Clan fan)
    It really goes deep into the teaching to control mind and body through lessons of discipline and patience.
    True Masterpiece.

    I first became aware of Gordon Liu during an afternoon "chop socky" airing of Return of Master Killer. In late 90s I finally got a VHS copy of 36th Chamber and have loved him ever since. I'm not a Tarantino fan, but I watched Kill Bill just for him.

      @@user-vb2pm1dy6u I'm trying to research.. on and off for a year already. How do that happen? He got hit in the head? He suffered a stroke? He's so healthy I just don't get it? Could it be that the medicine that he's taking or the vitamin that he's taking? Or I don't know the Kung Fu that he's studying? It's a mystery.. I just don't believe he can actually turn out to be like that and only 3 day after the incident..

      @@johnnyjanny496 I'm sorry! I have dates wrong! Thought Gordon had stroke "before" Kill Bill 1, recovered, and then went on to act in Kill Bill 1. My honest mistake! After going on google, i read and realized that, 7-To-8 Yr's later, he's still in wheelchair, but speech not so slurred. 😔Sigh😔

    This British interviewer doesn't know anything about how Asian kung fu movies played a formidable role in the entertainment lives of Black and Latino youth during the 80's. In the 5 boroughs of NYC, Saturday afternoon at 3pm showed empty streets. This was during the early 80's when most of us rushed upstairs to watch these movies. Many of those same movies were played in seedy movie theaters on 42nd street where we could go as teenagers (12 thru 18) and pay to see an R rated movie with no questions asked. We were born in the late 60's and early 70's but we knew who Gordon Lui was. If we didn't know his real name, we at least knew him as "The Master Killer" or "the dude from 36 Chambers". She should do her research. This guy is well known among a certain age demographic in the US and has experienced a resurgence in thru hip hop culture thanks to the WuTang Clan.

    My best all time movie with Gordon was 36th chambers of Shaolin a master class of traditional martial arts and had me on the floor with laughter when he was headbutting concrete blocks. I saw this flick when it first came out back in the days of VHS "the good times" 😊
    It's so heartbreaking and a shock to see him now and I have to big up Amy Fan for looking after him whilst in recovery.
    Eva Fung refused to return almost 2mil yuan (S$396,000) worth of financial assets that he had entrusted to her, forcing him to bring the matter to court. Fortunately, Eva eventually came to her senses and returned everything with interest.
    She should be locked up for attempted theft and throw away the key as for his ex wife that's another story, don't get me started.
    I wish him well in 2022 👊🏿😎

    • @UGOkilleth
      @UGOkilleth 9 місяців тому

      She's not ignorant. She's stating facts. Kung Fu movies are and have been dying. At the end of the day, the appreciation for Kung Fu movies is tied in with the culture. In this generation, kids prefer CGIs and sci-fi over martial arts. I don't think I can name one successful good martial arts/Kung Fu movie in the modern era. Ip Man was a one-off.
