I'm a teacher in the Lehigh Valley. I had a fourth grade class with me in my computer lab. Don't remember why, but the TV was on. Some students noticed the coverage and said something to me. I looked and assumed it was a news show doing some kind of simulation and just dismissed it at first. Then, it became obvious it was real. Finally, an announcement was made to turn off all televisions. We have quite a few students with families in NYC. There was one family who lost someone in one of the towers. Never forget that day.

Mrs. Slaymakers math class... can't remember if it was algebra-trig geometry what, as soon as we sat down for the class she walked in and told us all what was going on, and was dismissing the class for the day, I went back to my dorm room and started watching the television myself, with that same feeling. 🙏
I remember that day all too well. I was the lead page designer for three suburban Philadelphia newspapers. I was woken by my college roommate that morning. He said, “Turn on CNN!” A half hour later I was in the newsroom laying out an unprecedented afternoon newspaper. I picked a photo of the burning WTC, and wrote the headline “Unthinkable.” We ran a chaotic selection of photos and stories and had a paper on the stands by 3 pm. It turned out we lost 20 local residents in New York that day, including a pilot of one of the planes. It’s all burned in my memory.
I remember that day so well. I just turned the tv on and they were showing and talking about a plane hitting the 1st tower. I thought wow, how in the world did this happen? Then the 2nd plane hit and I thought oh God no. Where's the next plane coming down at and are there bombs planted someplace? I had errands to run that afternoon and every place I went to was so quiet. We all had the same look of shock and disbelief and sadness. No one was really talking and when we did it was quietly. I was in Schenck Job. Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Pisgah Forest North Carolina in Transylvania County North Carolina when September 11,2001 happened. We was arguing over Faith Hills song Breathe when it all came on every channels. We was a sent home to or familys. The Job Corps offered me the job as a secret service officer for the white house. Thank you for this video. I was at work that day and and called my husband when I heard a plane had crashed near Pittsburgh, where our daughter and young family lived at the time . We live in Montgomery Co.,Pa. and want to visit some day. Those people were heroes.
My heart broke for their families 😢. I thought of WW1 and WW2 and all the families who lost their loved ones and homes. Now it seems WW3 is not far off.

Thank you for posting. Until I saw your video I had no real idea what or how the impact area appears today. Most of my memories are of NYC. II live in NY State and was a police officer with a suburban village in Westchester County. I volunteered along with 3 other officers of our small 16 officer department to respond to NYC as mutual aid was requested from every available agency,. Later that day I was standing 3 blocks from ground zero. Buildings were still burning, people were still evacuating the area, though most had already done so. The old Vista Hotel was burning and collapsed causing the ground to shake and a noise I hope to never hear again. Later that afternoon a group of NJ firefighters assembled nearby and marched in a column of two's to the twin towers. Their faces were full of excitement appeared they were eager to lend a hand to help as they headed down to ground zero only to return about 30 minutes later with a look of disbelief and bewilderment. About an hour later I saw why,, the twin towers that stood earlier that day were reduced to a pile of rubble 10 stories high. Nothing could be done until heavy equipment was brought in to lift the massive iron beams and concrete. That day I witnessed hell on earth. I'm sure the area under that sandstone rock was much the same. My wife and I love PA and plan to retire there. We plan on visiting Somerset County and the flight 93 memorial.
This a very moving place....Too bad the visitors center was closed, there is artifacts and personnel property of the plane and Heroes inside....We are planning to go again soon...Thanks for show all of us this Memorial....
Thanks. One of those places on my list. I responded with my certified search dog to the WTC on 9/13. A friend of mine had a work buddy on Flight 93. His name, Joe DeLuca, appears at 14:00 in the video. My friend said he has no doubt that Joe would have been one of the passengers that fought back. Flight path, yes, but the angle of impact was almost vertical.
Although living in GA now, I am Reading born and raised. I had the opportunity to see the Pentagon and experience the Ground Zero Memorial summer of 2019. Sadly we didn't make it to the 93 Memorial. Thank you very much for showing it, and giving the memorial its due respect. Awesome content!
Thanks for doing this, Cliff. I and my husband were vacationing in NC on the Outer Banks. We rented a house ocean front. We were told all planes where grounded after this occurred. But, that was not true. U.S. fighter jets were patrolling our coast. We saw them for the number days all other planes were grounded. They would come past every hour or so, flying low and fast. For all the heavy and concerning feelings we had; these fighter jets gave us a sense of security to know our military was protecting us during those dark days.
I was on vacation when 911 happened! We had done some traveling and had gotten home 9-9! I was sitting at the dining room table reading the newspaper and was hearing something on the tv in the living room! Was watching it all day! The radio didn't play any songs that day either, just kept talking about the happenings going on! Sad day! 😢
Excellent video Cliff. Back in September 11, 2001 I was working downtown NYC. But I was off work the week of Sept 10, 2001. I came back to work the next Monday /Sept 17, 2001. As I stepped through my commute, other commuters along the way would look at me, people I knew by looks but not name, The other commuters would look at me ""O, thank God you are not dead". Over and over again. When I got to the place I always bought my coffee, the young man exclaimed to me "So very fine to see you this morning sir." The Park&Ride (Path Train in Harrison, NJ) where I would park my car didn't have it so lucky. The cars that nobody drove home on Sept 11 and the next few days had to be towed out.
It is a sobering thought. I do remember were I was that day as well. Working for a small auto parts store in Warminster PA. We have those little tvs in each corner and a customer was like did you hear what happened? Then I had to turn on the tvs and couldn't believe it. Thank you for sharing.
We were hiking up on Cadillac Mountain in Maine and did not find out about it till we stopped somewhere for supper. The music playing was somber and when we asked the waitress what was going on, she burst into tears. On our way back to our B&B, a lone bald eagle swooped down over our vehicle. Unbelievable.

We went on a bus trip to the different location in flight 93! It was amazing of where the flight went down! I cried! We also went to Frank’s Loyd Wright’s houses!
Looking at the flight path, and living in central Westmoreland, my uncle and I likely saw the actual plane fly past that day. I was working a bit for him that day.
People talk like they were completely doomed but what people don't understand is but they had every intent on seeing their families given enough time they would've totally taken back the plane they wanted to live either way God bless the men and women of United 93

I visited that place two years ago. I was taking a long weekend in Johnstown and this was one of the things I wanted to see. A neighbor of mine was a passenger on that ill fated flight. In 2001 I was living in Budd Lake, New Jersey (a year later I moved to Philly) and Hilda (14:26) was an elderly lady who lived across the street from me. She was the oldest passenger. We weren't friends ... but another neighbor frantically banged on my door and exclaimed Hilda was on Flight 93!
I have been there many times over the years. The field area is an abandon strip mine, and there was a large drag line left there. A road ran through the property and a temporary area had a link fence where people left objects on it. i believe most were lost when a building used as a visitor center burned. There are 40 groves of 100 trees planted for each Hero. Have not been there since Dec 31 the year before the dedication. I knew the woman that got the call on 911 for 5000 body bags . I need to get back there and see the finish Memorial.
Oh dear yes I remember what I was doing too that awful day I had just woken made a coffee and turned on the TV and they were showing the planes hitting the twin towers at first I thought it was an ad for a new movie but only for a few seconds we here in Australia were also in shock and disbelief RIP all the hero's and innocents who died at the hand of such evil beings Yes always sad visiting these sites and war memorials for me too however just by visiting we are honouring their memory God Bless xx
Thanks for your vlog so I could see the area. There is also a memorial plaque at sibling hill rest stop on the turnpike. The day it happened it popped up on the TV and one of my friends is from New York. I called her and woke her up and told her call your family before cell service goes down. As it turns out this was the day her father was to go to the towers. She managed to stop him and send him back home as he had only left 5 mins previously. We were part of a Renn faire family and lost some that worked within the buildings that day. It is bitter sweet to say I am glad some lives were saved while many others were lost. I remember that day well. I was feeding my 2 year old daughter breakfast while watching the news. It was already covering the first plane that hit when the second one came in. It brought back terrible memories of the April 19th bombing in downtown Oklahoma City. I worked 35 miles away and still felt and heard the impact of that explosion. I had the same reaction to 911. A deep ache in my chest, like I couldn't breathe. So many people taken at once. The memorial there for flight 93 is beautiful, peaceful and poignant-a fitting remembrance of their courage and sacrifice. Thank you for sharing, Cliff.
Inside the Visitor’s Center is worth seeing. There are audio tapes of many of the phone calls made from the plane, mementos recovered from the crash site, a very moving experience. Only family members are permitted on the actual crash site, on certain occasions. It is a very somber place.
Thank you for this video on this site. It stirred all kinds of memories for me of that day. It was nasty business. The memorial at the PA crash site was one of the most moving places I have ever been to except for the 911 museum in NYC.. The people who died on that plane were patriots because they knew what was planned and were defending our country. A very interesting fact that I found out during my visit to the site was that the plane crashed into a recently back filled coal strip mine. The ground was soft and the plane was engulfed in the soft earth. It’s my understanding that the investigators were looking for the black boxes on the plane and were not able to stop and collect the remains of the passengers. Thus, the backfilled crash site is a tomb for those valiant hero’s. May God bless them! The museum was open when I visited several years ago. I searched the displays, but I did not see anything regarding the nationalities or identities of those who perpetrated this madness. Very disappointing. NEVER FORGET!

I haven't watched your whole video yet, but I hope you mentioned the trees. They used a lot of trees in their design because they said it was the trees that caught the people. They honor the trees by including them in so much of the design of the place. When I say it was the trees that caught the people, I hope no one needs me to be more graphic than that.
I will never forget nor will I let my children. I was in 10th grade and was in a alternative school. (Yes I was expelled). I was in homeroom and we were told we cant turn on the t.v. (we always had the t.v. on in homeroom! ALWAYS!!!) Bcuz another kid was in a pursuit with the cops. Shortly after my father was murdered (unrelated) such a absolute shit time period of my life!!!! Sad thing is ppl forgot
Just a point of reference for where Flight 93 was headed. There is a large plaque hanging in the Capitol Building in Washington DC dedicated to Flight 93 and its passengers because it was believed the destination was to be there. If you get a tour of the Capitol ask your guide to see the plaque.

I was working in Cleveland in a busy recovery room, was such a horrible day. The heros of fignt 93 will always be remembered and I thank them.

We went on a bus trip to the different location in flight 93! It was amazing of where the flight went down! I cried! We also went to Frank’s Loyd Wright’s houses!
Looking at the flight path, and living in central Westmoreland, my uncle and I likely saw the actual plane fly past that day. I was working a bit for him that day.
People talk like they were completely doomed but what people don't understand is but they had every intent on seeing their families given enough time they would've totally taken back the plane they wanted to live either way God bless the men and women of United 93
Wow and wow again. I truly hurt the whole time you were there. I saw it on tv. And just remember I sobbed for these people all day. Everyone here true hero’s . They really deserved the memorial. That really bought it all back. I was rather selfish thanking God none of my family or friends were there. I did pray hard for those who lost loved ones the grief would be so bleak. I visited that place two years ago. I was taking a long weekend in Johnstown and this was one of the things I wanted to see. A neighbor of mine was a passenger on that ill fated flight. In 2001 I was living in Budd Lake, New Jersey (a year later I moved to Philly) and Hilda (14:26) was an elderly lady who lived across the street from me. She was the oldest passenger. We weren't friends ... but another neighbor frantically banged on my door and exclaimed Hilda was on Flight 93!
This too is on my bucket list this summer !
I have been there many times over the years. The field area is an abandon strip mine, and there was a large drag line left there. A road ran through the property and a temporary area had a link fence where people left objects on it. i believe most were lost when a building used as a visitor center burned. There are 40 groves of 100 trees planted for each Hero. Have not been there since Dec 31 the year before the dedication. I knew the woman that got the call on 911 for 5000 body bags . I need to get back there and see the finish Memorial.
Oh dear yes I remember what I was doing too that awful day I had just woken made a coffee and turned on the TV and they were showing the planes hitting the twin towers at first I thought it was an ad for a new movie but only for a few seconds we here in Australia were also in shock and disbelief RIP all the hero's and innocents who died at the hand of such evil beings Yes always sad visiting these sites and war memorials for me too however just by visiting we are honouring their memory God Bless xx
Thanks for your vlog so I could see the area. There is also a memorial plaque at sibling hill rest stop on the turnpike. The day it happened it popped up on the TV and one of my friends is from New York. I called her and woke her up and told her call your family before cell service goes down. As it turns out this was the day her father was to go to the towers. She managed to stop him and send him back home as he had only left 5 mins previously. We were part of a Renn faire family and lost some that worked within the buildings that day. It is bitter sweet to say I am glad some lives were saved while many others were lost. I remember that day well. I was feeding my 2 year old daughter breakfast while watching the news. It was already covering the first plane that hit when the second one came in. It brought back terrible memories of the April 19th bombing in downtown Oklahoma City. I worked 35 miles away and still felt and heard the impact of that explosion. I had the same reaction to 911. A deep ache in my chest, like I couldn't breathe. So many people taken at once. The memorial there for flight 93 is beautiful, peaceful and poignant-a fitting remembrance of their courage and sacrifice. Thank you for sharing, Cliff.

Inside the Visitor’s Center is worth seeing. There are audio tapes of many of the phone calls made from the plane, mementos recovered from the crash site, a very moving experience. Only family members are permitted on the actual crash site, on certain occasions. It is a very somber place.

The memorial at the PA crash site was one of the most moving places I have ever been to except for the 911 museum in NYC..
The people who died on that plane were patriots because they knew what was planned and were defending our country.
A very interesting fact that I found out during my visit to the site was that the plane crashed into a recently back filled coal strip mine. The ground was soft and the plane was engulfed in the soft earth. It’s my understanding that the investigators were looking for the black boxes on the plane and were not able to stop and collect the remains of the passengers. Thus, the backfilled crash site is a tomb for those valiant hero’s. May God bless them!
The museum was open when I visited several years ago. I searched the displays, but I did not see anything regarding the nationalities or identities of those who perpetrated this madness. Very disappointing.

All 9 alive mine rescue is right across the highway. Also the staple bend tunnel is a great little walking trail.

I haven't watched your whole video yet, but I hope you mentioned the trees. They used a lot of trees in their design because they said it was the trees that caught the people. They honor the trees by including them in so much of the design of the place. When I say it was the trees that caught the people, I hope no one needs me to be more graphic than that.
I will never forget nor will I let my children. I was in 10th grade and was in a alternative school. (Yes I was expelled). I was in homeroom and we were told we cant turn on the t.v. (we always had the t.v. on in homeroom! ALWAYS!!!) Bcuz another kid was in a pursuit with the cops. Shortly after my father was murdered (unrelated) such a absolute shit time period of my life!!!! Sad thing is ppl forgot
Just a point of reference for where Flight 93 was headed. There is a large plaque hanging in the Capitol Building in Washington DC dedicated to Flight 93 and its passengers because it was believed the destination was to be there. If you get a tour of the Capitol ask your guide to see the plaque.

Thank you for taking us with you. I do have a comment . . . It seems you often don’t research before uploading. It was easy to just read a plaque that says this craft was heading for our nation’s capital instead of shrugging your shoulders and saying you don’t know. . Just a thought.

They have added some things there since I was there in 2016 before I started my UA-cam channel. I'll have to get back out there once things hopefully get back to normal. Also I thought one of the park rangers there said the area used to be a strip mine.
If u go back there,you should really go in the building, I've been there twice.

I enjoy your videos. In this one it hits close to home. The passengers were not killed in a plane crash. They were murdered by terrorists. You don't hear the World Trade or Pentagon called a plane crash site, neither is this. Please do not call it a crash site.
