Ya, you right. Also another thing that happens a little later on is the menuing becomes so bloated that you spend no joke 70% of your time just clicking through them to collect rewards. I can literally feel my brain short circuiting, And it's obvious that it's meant to shower you with as many rewards as possible and keep you in the app for as long as possible.

aw man, I haven't tried this game yet but thats why I don't play bdo mobile. Exactly like you said, everytime I sign on I have to do too much menu navigation through a multitude of various rewards and other notifications. Inventory becomes cluttered with items I haven't learned about because I haven't got a chance to play. By the time I'm finished collecting everything and organizing it all trying not to waste anything rare going to deposit into my filled up warehouse I don't feel like playing by then. lol UI is almost always way too cluttered in these mobile games. We need way more control over what is visible while gaming and developers need to stop leaving every menu right in the gameplay UI screen. Disappointing these games are more character and inventory maintenance rather than playing and enjoying the content created.

@@bryanable9813 as a person who played both BDO mobile and NNK CW for a brief amount of time... If you think BDO is cluttered, then you'd suffer a stroke from this game. Abhorrent, boring, and the lack of quality of life features hurts a lot alongside the already bloated and hard-to-navigate UI, shitty servers and matchmaking, and clunky combat system. Is it really so hard to put in a feature to customize the battle tool to make the buttons bigger? Apparently so; better add a feature to make the players auto grind instead because no one would play this shitty game unless it plays itself
And as a fan of MMOs, the grinding here is so damn tedious. At level 30, you pop your phone off and make the game grind for hours, and you'd still be at the same level because monsters give negligible exp and you can only level up by doing these boring ass quests. (For context: Average enemies that can kill me after 2 minutes of grinding gives you 30 exp. I think by level 25 or so, you need around a million exp to get to the next level)

Netmarble's games are deliberately designed with autoplay in mind, grinding doesn't have to require you to look at your phone 24/7 and can be fun and engaging. But in most of Netmarble's game, grinding are useless, takes forever, boring, and doesn't engage you at all since it plays itself. This is actually true for almost all of their game. I honestly like this game, but for specific reasons. Since this game is a mobile game, I play it like a mobile game. I put it on my second monitor and do other stuff on my main monitor. It's a great game to play while multitasking, because a lot of this game plays itself. There is fun to be had with field bosses, world bosses, PVP, and account progression. There's also so many collectables to obtain. A big thing for me is that I haven't felt the need to spend any money, because you can craft or obtain almost anything instead of using the gacha system. The gacha is just a bonus that speeds up progress. I also joined a guild which adds so much to this game. I do admit there's some scummy stuff in this game, but I've also been playing it 6 days straight because I like playing it. There's a lot of other people having fun too.

Damn, a lot of comments dunking on you here but I must say as someone who played this, some other games like this, this review is very true
Combat is bland and shallow even if you can turn off auto because it's clearly designed around auto. The whole game is like this. There's an excuse that "You can turn off auto!!" that might make the game a little better but frankly, the game is still designed around having auto on
People always say 'auto is good for grinding' but like.. the parts where the game is supposed to introduced you into its beautiful world and scenery, literally all auto. No exploration. Quests and plot and exploring aren't supposed to be 'grinding'
These maps were designed to be walked passed with auto on, not explored. Maybe there's not much to be explored after all for a so-called open world MMO
Also people calling you out for reviewing while not playing much of the game
but they'll also say "If you don't like it then don't play it!"
You'll be called a madman if you play for like 100 hours and give a negative review like this lmao there's no winning

Saying the game is not designed to be explored is pretty untrue. A big CP booster is Records like Soulstone, Vistas and Chests and these require you to go searching open world for them. Some regional chests require you to run around the world daily to find them. You can't auto these things. And discovering vistas gives you a cinematic view of some of the more beautiful areas of the maps. Also going around taming familiars is a completely manual explore process. I think there are many ways and options to play this game and while auto seems to be the main way to get through questlines to level up quickly and gain CP fast to be competitive, not everyone plays for the competitive experience. There are still many ways to explore the world at leisure and rewards for doing so. (I do agree that the movement and skill mechanics are super clunky but way better if you use a pc instead of phone)

Hello! As a nnk player since almost two years, I agree with some things here. But tbh, it’s as p2w as other p2w games. About the green pot that you can buy with blue diamonds, these diamonds are massively f2p obtainable. Also, you can just remove the auto combat if you need, as a support I need to control my skills to buff my team, I agree about the fact that the controls sucks a lot, but you can still play without auto combat.
Honestly that’s a game you play if you enjoy Ghibli universe, and if you enjoy guild related content.
Also, the auto play is really good for people who are usually not able to play classic games because of physical disabilities. In my guild there are players who were able to play video games before, but since an accident they are not able to enjoy games anymore. That game makes them happy because they found a way to enjoy video games even with their physical disabilities.

The story is surprisingly good and the graphics are clean. Also it's not really 100% auto play like y'all think. At the beginning it definitely is but once you get into level 30 and above that's where it starts to get difficult specially if your CP(combat power) is much lower than the recommended. Of course everything can be solved using money but if you're a F2P player like me you definitely can't auto the harder stages unless you grind hard to power up your equipments so you can reach the CP requirements. If you don't believe me then try to beat a stage with a CP requirement 100k higher than you and see if you can beat it with auto. I bet you can't!

For me the fun on mmo's are joining guilds and making friends and y'all will go farming together in a dungeon. Otherwise playing this game alone will bored you out. For me the main problem of this game is it's horrible monetization. It has 3 types of gacha currency and with how little gems you get from doing quests it'll take you months or years before you can pull or hit pity in the banner. Of course there's a F2P way to get those like crafting and hatching eggs but the rates on those are much lower than doing a gacha. I don't mind auto pathing for a mobile MMO as navigation on mobile isn't great most of the time. What I do mind is the auto everything. Auto questing, auto combat, auto completion.
I want to play the game and it does it all for you. I even tried to turn it off and had so much trouble doing so. This was a while back so I can't remember if it was bugged or you legit don't have an option to (... or it kept turning itself back on), but this basically killed it for me. What were they thinking when they did this? Ni No Kuni is such a fun game series and they basically ruined it by making their 3rd entry the unholy trinity of gaming and on top of that make it so its nearly impossible for you to actually play the game instead of it doing it for you.
I was very bitter, because the graphics, jokes, and story 1.) Show that this is very much a continuation of the Ni No Kuni world/story (not just some separate thing... even if its a bit gimmicky), but 2.) Also show that they actually put effort into making it an actual Ni No Kuni game instead of just saying that it was a game in the series and making it nothing like it.

I just find this whole game frustrating. Frankly, the fact that it's a mobile game really wasn't really an issue for me. There are a couple of mobile MMORPGs that I enjoy and have fun with.
I really just didn't have fun when I started. I didn't really like the story, as it felt like a poorly written y/n SAO fanfic set in the ni no kuni world more than anything else. (but Chloe is a queen, and no one can tell me otherwise.) The gameplay is very superficial. The combat feels like it was just made for autoplay, and even if you turn it off, it's still just waiting for your skills to cool down, and rolling from time to time. Its not that fun, and there's really no point in doing it. Also, I hate what they did with the familiars Combat wise. I think it's mostly just to declutter the game, (but how well did that go, hm?) But the thing is, familiars were a big part of the first game's combat system, having their own unique set of skills, and genuinely being a good option for battle. What they did here (and with Solomon, god bless his soul) just feels, once again, superficial. As if it's just a callback to something that was actually fun, but not really anything more. There are certain things that you can't use autoplay to do, and I think it's important to acknowledge them. But this is also an issue for me, as it feels very inconsistent, as if the game doesn't know what it wants to be. Can I set my phone down and watch the game progress like a movie, or do I have to be hands on? Trying to have it both ways just makes the gameplay inconsistent and janky. To put it in perspective, it feels like an early 2000's anime mmorpg game, where the player is the least important part of the game. (the most important part being the player's wallet.) Which, danm that is some nostalgia I did not expect from this game. XD
It's the same thing for character customization, as in, it is entirely pointless. The options are already genderlocked... and... model locked (as in you can't even change your height, and if the character has cat ears, a beard, or is a loli, have fun with that. Because you're stuck with it whether you like it or not.) I know it's a superfical complaint. But honestly, I wish they just scrapped character customization all together, and just gave the playable characters... some personality. It was a charming aspect of the original games, and might have legitimately saved the game for me. But having cluu talk for your character because they're a mute is just... I find it grating, and it just disconnects me from whatever it is that I'm supposed to do.
It killed the game for me, and really just made it a chore to play. ...maybe that's just me, but at the end of the day I feel how I feel. Lol
It really sucks, because I wanted to like the game. I was really excited when it was announced, because I honestly thought when I pre-registered it would either try to make the player a part of the world, or add new and compelling protagonists (well, about as compelling they can be for an mmo, LOL). And I just feel sad, because neither of those things were given, (well, more of a Frankenstein of the two) and it makes it hard to be invested. Maybe my expectations are the issue.
To whoever is reading this, If you are having fun with this game, awesome. Ni no Kuni is a great franchise, and I hope you continue to have fun.
    I just... didn't.

🌸😼I must wholeheartedly (albeit respectfully) disagree with your assessment as I have enjoyed my experience within Ni No Kuni Cross World’s and am one that preferences Mobile over PC.
It story and dialogue are impressive, it’s aesthetics are gorgeous (as expected), and it yields a wealth of content by which one can truly sink their teeth into.
I am not bothered as you are by the auto nor the ease of content near the beginning phase of the title for it gets progressively more difficult as one goes along and auto can’t be counted on later.
It too could always be turned off and though you expressed “why would one pass up its convenience should it be available”, I would utter “ if one is truly against it, why use it at all”?

The game has no other substance other than being massively pay to win. It doesn't even try to hide it. Quit if you guys wanna quit, I'm playing this while im doing my work so that I can save some money to pay for my school. After all this is a NFT game. They designed like that because it's a NFT mmorpg game and fyi they dont give a shit if you're complaining about the game since they care for only those player who invested their time and money for it.

You can turn off the Auto-Battle feature. You can actually turn off all the auto features but the auto-battle settings in the settings won't turn off the auto ability usage. You have to turn it off from the HUD

Only in biss battles it makes sense to dodge every attack. And that's the only fun part of the actual gameplay.
And yeah, the soundtrack is really good and the story also. But there are way too many text boxes. And there are so many unnecessary moments.

    • @xxhierophantxx
      @xxhierophantxx 2 роки тому +2

Unselecting turns off auto story progression. To turn off auto battle completely you go into system settings and turn off "auto counter". There's also crossed swords near the familiar ui, that can toggle auto battle on/basic/off!
It's important to know as some missions have rewards for not using auto battle, not using skills, challenges for extra rewards for completion with only basic attacks, etc.

First of all, the servers are literally full at certain times, which is undoubtedly times where people are gaming, starts full at 7pm UTC+8 and reaches its climax where the queue you've to wait is 800 players at around 10pm UTC+8! It's horrendously long, I've tried waiting once for an hour and more just to fken login the game!; another time is around the daily reset times, 2pm UTC+8, but it's not as long as at night (200-ish queues).
You can, however, workaround this by logging in beforehand and just activate AI mode, the server still counts you logged in, therefore you can get back in the game whenever before your AI mode time runs out and directly enter the game without queueing (if there's one).
Second reason I quitted the game is because the grinds are ridiculous, you can speed through 0 to 200k CP in less than a week easily, but once you hit 300k and above, you'll realise that territe ~the second currency that can be exchanged for crypto~ is required for most of the upgrades. The currency itself can be obtained from dailies (50/day) or you can grind ingame for 4 hrs just to get around 40 at most I've gotten. Meanwhile, the amount required to upgrade one equipment is at least 50 or its multiple, it's just annoyingly too many. You either choose to exchange them for a minimal of 300 to a crypto and sacrifice your progress (which I didn't do since it's too many and I'm not a miner) or the opposite.
Final words, it's not that friendly for F2P players, you progress very very slowly since you're getting bottlenecked by the exchangeable currency that breaks the game, meanwhile your enemies keeps getting tougher. If you're a miner, yes, you can mine in this game, and it's quite the value too. However, keep in mind that if your level gap (which will increase as you grind more) between the monsters are high, your drops are significantly decreased and you may won't be getting anything, therefore forcing you to play the game properly. In the end, the game's as it claims to be, a play to earn... or play to waste time.

autopath feature always spoil the fun in games. They should replace it with markers on map, so players can roam free and more adventure experience. As for leveling they can introduce the idling/auto atk mode on monster within certain radius.

The #1 thing that made me immediately lose interest in this game was the fact that it just plays itself. What's the point of a game if I can't even play it the way I want to? At least make it so that playing manually actually feels fun & interesting.
No game I've ever seen that has the auto-play as its best option has ever amounted to anything other than a complete waste of time.
