Buddhist Emptiness | A Path to Discovering Your Buddha-Nature

  • The Buddhist concept of Śūnyatā, translated as "emptiness" or "voidness," is a philosophical idea that asserts that all phenomena lack inherent, independent existence or self-nature. Instead, all things are interdependent and interconnected. Śūnyatā is intimately related to the concept of Buddha-nature which refers to the potential for enlightenment that exists within all beings. Buddha-nature itself is not an independent entity but empty, like everything else. This understanding helps practitioners perceive it as a means to realize enlightenment #shorts

    Encompassing the chaos are systems of order containing the chaos, and when you see the order of chaos you will see there is very little chaos in the world, in your life. Walk your path, the world will take care of itself.

    Wow. This really hit me. I haven't shared this but with only a couple of people. This video compels me.
    I had an experience on Mt. Shasta while fasting and meditating years ago in which I experienced true emptiness and bliss. It changed me. It was what the bible describes as "peace that surpasses all understanding." I felt completely empy, a kind of emptiness that opens one's being to perfect interconnectedness. When I stood up out of this mediation and looked at the sand, the trees, the sky, I knew I was looking at myself. It left me with a calm and peaceful bliss for a month straight. But I didn't know what to do with it and as I went back to life, back to work, it faded.
    This experience and it's fading over time taught me how important it is to use it. To cultivate it like one does a seed until it sprouts, then flowers. This sacred light that is within us requires steadfast, immovable care. This video brought me back to a special place.
    I can't thank you enough ❤

    This concept has also been explained as "the Antakharana", or Webb, of life. Thus, the interconnectedness of all life means that we all can share in the consciousness of God. Also, what affects one part of life affects all. If a soul attains to Nirvana, or the Ascension, it draws, or magnetizes all other souls upward. Consequently, a soul in turmoil can have a negative effect on other parts of life. Jesus taught this concept also when he said: " And l, if l be lifted up, will draw all men unto me"." I am my brother's keeper" also speaks to the importance of this concept. So the philosophy of someone asking to be left alone to do as they please as long as they aren't bothering or affecting anyone else has never been a valid request because it violates this concept of Cosmic law. So the earth will not take care of itself contrary to some beliefs. We are all of us responsible for the fate of the planet since God bequeathed to us that responsibility. God also gave to us, and made sacrosanct, the law of free will, but it is mankind's misuse of free will that has always been the fly in the ointment of life. The Masters admonish us to become " Masters of free will" first, which will enable us to make the correct choices in our lives and to freely choose the path of enlightenment.

    Dzogchen (the highest teachings of buddha) state of nodal oe emptiness; How we describe light in absence of dark. How can we explain happiness in absence of suffering. How we define good in absence of bad.
    Thus, good n bad, suffering and happiness and light and dark are one nature. They all depend and supports each. Emptiness is oneness in everything.

    Questions like... What happens when we die? Why are we here? What is existence? What is conciousness? Am I really just an "advanced" ape on a wet rock floating in space? Are we alone in the Universe? What caused the Big Bang? Where does the Universe exist? Is there a god or are there gods? Why is there something rather than nothing? Existential OCD is a helluva drug.

    Mahayana is cult of Buddhism, many of the Buddha teachings were amended and modified to suit their own by some rebels monks after Buddha passed away! Only Theravada holds real and true Buddha teachings. So only Theravada should be addressed as Buddhism!

    The ALL is ONE. The ONE is ALL. If you experience Oneness (which is the same as wholeness) , that experience never leaves you. Everything is ONE. Words fail at the level of Oneness. The word 'emptiness' doesn't mean anything to me.

    Then emptiness is Enlightenment ?
    Enlightenment is Nirvana?
    So just being “empty” is being in a state of nirvana ?

    • @ydharma
      @ydharma  Рік тому +3

      The realization that all phenomena are empty helps in attaining nirvana (enlightenment). Because nirvana itself is empty and thus part of the web of interconnectedness, it helps practitioners feel more empowered to attain it. The concept of emptiness is encouragement and a motivation boost to attaining nirvana but nirvana is not about being empty. It’s about extinguishing all suffering.
