There's a reason why it is an obligation. And obligations cannot be dependent on personal choice otherwise no obligation will ever come to existence. An obligation by definition is not subjective nor does it depend on whether we like it or not because if it is obligations will cease to be reliable

We cannot simply cherry pick which marital obligations are going to be imposed and what's not.
