I've seen "bulletproof guitar player" for 50 points less than usual for a while now, if anybody is on the fence about purchasing just buy it... you'll be dodging bullets on a regular basis!! We'll done on the content, helped me loads.
Omg I was seriously youtubeing this technique for the last. 2 days. I found one kinda good one from Texas Blues Alley. But this is what I was looking for! Crazy how the world works. Thanks for all your videos. It really is appreciated by me. One of the highlights of my week when I get the notification that you've posted a video.
Great job again Ross, perfect learning speed, you can never go wrong with the blues,i'd love to learn some Rory Gallagher electric stuff, maybe how to get a Texas blues tone.Gary Moore style.thanks.
Bro, your channel has very unique contents which i like the most. Also love the way you explain , so clear and in detail , which helps to understand better in one go , and no need for us to rewind the video again :-) .. Keep making more videos bro. Thanks for sharing all to us . KEep ROCkING :-)
Sending the love from Dundee , I love the Blues Hendrix srv videos, I can’t wait to get the bulletproof. I’m stuck in a “rut” one scale wonder lol thanks again for all your videos
Hey Ross, great lesson. Could you do another video expanding on this one and developing the ideas with slides/hammers and pulls etc. And maybe throwing in some more rhythmic variations... Awesome
Hi Ross. I've looked at a number of 'rake' technique videos and yours is the best tutorial I've seen, thanks. I have one part of it I'm not clear on. When you're hitting the single notes on the downbeat your right hand has to have a certain amount of motion going on to get down far enough to come back up on the upbeat and keep the shuffle going. (not that you have to hit all the strings on the upbeat as you explained) So my question is with the swinging downward motion of your right hand to hit the individual notes are you trying to only hit the string that has the particular note of the bass riff (example the 10th fret on the 5th string for the second note) OR are you not worried if you hit any of the other bottom strings because they're muted. It just seems hard to me to imagine being that exact to hit a particular string with all that motion going on. Hope this makes sense. Cheers
love this video, would love to see a video on holding the pick, i know it sounds easy to hold but when picking single notes I'm fine when strumming or trying to pick faster the pick always move around, cannot find a decent video anywhere.
I’m considering getting a thumb extension for my stubby thumb. Just can’t reach around too much and , уэaん, I am altering my wrist position. Small thumb is the problem. Not complaining just saying
Could you do a video on the reverse rake john mayer, srv thing. Not sure how to explain it. I guess it's like a sweep/rake or something. John mayer does it alot
Request for a similar, but different blues technique . Would love a breakdown of this commonly used up stroke / sweep thing used, it’s pretty quick and subtle ua-cam.com/video/d3joAMidm7w/v-deo.html at 38:21 I’ve seen a few variations of this .. used to get back to the start of a pentatonic position usually
that tone is insane man
Always super clear and to the point. Nice one

Can you talk about John Mayer's "sweep-rake" technique. He uses it in a blues jam video, on Everyday I have the Blues and others
Here is a great lesson on what I think you are talking about... ua-cam.com/video/katHXjD09tE/v-deo.html

Ohhh my pride and joy!
Man, I just randomly searched for "blues rake" on UA-cam and this video shows up as uploaded 5 minutes ago. Looking forward to watching it :P
Haha that's awesome, hope you enjoy it! :)
Finally someone could explain it. Thank you.
continue this lesson please
Great explanation. I think raking is a lot like vibrato. It’s one of those techniques that you seek to improve for your entire guitar playing life.
Excellent lesson Ross and sounds particularly good on your Strat!
Nicely done!! I started working on this technique in 1978 listening to 1960 Buddy Guy records.
U teach very well thanks for teaching us ross..
Thank u man ! Great lesson- as usual 👍

Any suggestions on how to anticipate chord changes when soloing to 12 bar blues?
can you do a hybrid picking technic ?
How do you get that tone? Effects and amp settings please!

Think I know what you mean yeah :)
ua-cam.com/video/Ab_k6ZrCPmw/v-deo.html at around the 30 second mark he starts it
Good job man. SRV used this tecnique too much, like in Rude Mood and Cold Shot.
Vil TaC never
?
What strat and DiMarzios do you have in it?
Fender CS 60s Relic. Cruisers in the neck and middle, super distortion in the bridge.
Is this the same technique people use when bending a note? Idk how how to explain it but it’s like they “forcefully” pick a note.
you can rake and bend yes ! Stevie Ray and John Mayer do it all the time!
