I volunteered with a Michigan chapter of TU (in the lower peninsula) some years ago. We performed an electroshock survey in the home stream (a small river; I would call it a nice creek, very similar to this stream). Caught, measured, clipped a fin, and released. All browns, 4"/6"/8" but... we pulled two 20" browns out of that particular section. I would never have believed it if I had not seen them with my own eyes. Nice job Crouse. jc
I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun I had and enjoyment watching this video! Thank you for taking the time and effort to share this with us, I know it means a great deal to me, thank you again and happy fishing!
The scenery and the sounds...and the fish...thank you ever so much for sharing with us! That was truly a moment of Zen for me you took me away from the 107 heat index here in Florida today...much needed relief. Again, many thanks and stay healthy!
I have fished the same log jam at my spot for the last 5 yrs ...I've never landed a fish out it , but have hooked some dukes . THIS YEAR IS MY YEAR !!!!! 😂
I’ve started to get into fishing by myself over the last few years as no one else in my family fishes or anything like that. I live in Michigan and normally just bass fish but fly fishing is something I’ve wanted to get into since there are a lot of small creeks near my area. To be honest, I did not know you could catch trout in small creeks with spinners so I will definitely be trying this the coming week.
If you haven't yet get that gold panther Martin with the yellow and red rooster tail on it. It catches trout, more so then the black and gold one I think
Where about in Michigan are you from? I live in holland and there are a few cold water streams that are about 15 miles south of me that hold browns, brookies and steelhead. But I haven't had much luck finding new water....
I fish small creeks in the Cadillac area with worms and spawn but never have your luck. I think I’m going to try the panthers after watching your videos
What net is that? It looks pretty nice. I don't know how big a net you can use on a trout stream but I'm guessing that net is pretty close to the maximum.
That hog you hooked from less than 6 feet away was CLUTCH! Did you figure it was worth still going for because it was in such a tough-to-fish location that it probably was less pressured by other anglers?
Hey Sam, I don't like to talk about specific rivers and creeks. Especially the really small ones. Everyone knows about the ausable and manistee ect....

That's cool. Yes I'm amazed at the small water these big fish will reside in
I think I know what creek you’re talking about, what county is it in?
Great video. Nice fish. Looking forward to another summer of trout fishing in Northern Michigan
OMG that take by the big Brown under the log was awesome! They can sure scare the crap out of you when they pounce like that! Great video, thank you!
What a beautiful stream, you earned that first brown. What a tricky cast.
Nice. Brown under that tree. Great called shot
Haha thanks

Thanks!
This video is still fun to watch.
Oldie. But goodie.

107?! Wow
@@CrouseOutdoors Sadly 98F today then high humidity, heat index 107. It looked truly like a cool slice of heaven where you were fishing!
Yes that water was in the low 50s

😂😂😂 up your line strength and try again
Good job. Your lack of pretentiousness is a fine quality. Good luck and keep releasing.
Thank you. Will do
Unreal! Freaking fantastic fishing!
Thanks man. Definitely an awesome bite on that first fish
Nice video!!! On gold blade spinners... Take a black Sharpie and add some black dots to the blade. Trust me.
Good idea
What fantastic footage. Well done!
Thank you
That was so sick!!
You can catch some nice browns using size 0 or 1 too! Never think the lure is too small. Sometimes micro fishing is the best way
I agree completely
COOL!
Great outing, that Brookie was a darn good one! (not that the Browns weren't) 👍
Yes it was!
Awesome video! You’re a talented fisherman
Thanks man. Appreciate that. Although you should know I edit out all the times I throw it in the trees 🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful fish! Can’t beat the west side of the state.
Western michigan does have some great water!
CROUSE OUTDOORS far superior to the east side lol
Not going to argue that but I haven't really spent any time over there 🤷♂️
CROUSE OUTDOORS do it if u wanna catch dinks😂
🤣🤣😂
I'll be lucky to catch one like that around my part of Michigan
You know what they say.... better to be lucky than good
That was insane man!!! Big fun!

Yeah man give it a try

Ok
Omg wow. My brother and I just got back from trout fishing and didn’t catch anything this big.
Try somewhere else. Keep after em

I notice you handle the line with your left hand on each cast. Can you explain why you are doing that? Thx
It's for more precise control of the cast distance
I fish small creeks in the Cadillac area with worms and spawn but never have your luck. I think I’m going to try the panthers after watching your videos
Give it a try! If the water is really small try walking and casting against the current.
Do you ever fly fish these tiny creeks? I wonder if a downstream presentation of a weighted streamer on the edge of structure would work.
I never have. It might work.
Just subbed. 👍
Niceeee😎
This is what happens during your sunday afternoon naps
How far up these creeks do you normally wade?
It varies. No typical wade
What net is that? It looks pretty nice. I don't know how big a net you can use on a trout stream but I'm guessing that net is pretty close to the maximum.
Oh man I don't remember! I don't have that net anymore. I think it was a fabrill one
@@CrouseOutdoors What net do you suggest?

🤔🤔🤔 never crossed my mind. But I like that you think I would be that smart 😬
this looks like an area that i know of...
kalkaska county? state land? ausable? Manistee?

@@CrouseOutdoors lol well duh that’s the first rule of fishing.
I just know a spot that looks quite similar to this one 🤞
Ahh right on 👍
What are the jerk baits you use the most
I really like the rapala xrap rainbow trout color. That's probably my favorite
Dont be afraid of brookie patterns either, browns hate brookies too lol, I catch alot of brookies on brookie pattern too
How much do you fish the muskegon River!?
Not much
I do alot
@@ericrichards7529 do you fish the upper or lower? I’m normally fishing closer to the damn.
@@onthefly1617 i fish from henning to croton 90 percent of the time, bridgeton to anderson flat the rest.
Can you tell me what country your in ? Or by
United States 👍
Is this LP or UP? Thx
LP
Interesting but not a fan of treble hooks on trout. Sorry dude.
