Jace N If you're going to use it for action still photography, the 1DX mk1 is definitely a great camera. But just like @hemidesign says, the video quality is below par in 2018/19. IMHO 2k is a lot of money to spend on "older" technology, like the 1dx mk1. Have you checked out the Fuji X-T3? I agree with all your points and I really want a 1dx mkii but the X-T3 has realllly intriguing specs, almost similar to the canon and at a much more affordable price. Wondering what your thoughts are on it. I’ve always loved Canon, and am slightly concerned about jumping ship especially because of the lenses and peripherals I’d need to shoot (mostly video, some photo) will add up and probably make me want to stay with whatever brand I’m with. But from what I’ve seen the X-T3 is a beast and very competitive- dual card slots, high bitrate, great colors, cheaper, great glass. What do you think?
Hey Jason! Great question. Although I haven't actually used the Fujifilm X-T3, the specs are very promising, especially for that price. From what I've seen the colors are amazing as well. However, the 1D X Mark ii have considerably higher bitrate, so you will have more data in each frame. But is it worth paying 4x more for it? If budget is not your main issue and you already know you have paid jobs lined up I'd go for the 1DX, especially if you already have Canon lenses. But it is expensive... If you're starting out and do not have loads of paid projects coming up, I'd consider the Fuji. Hope this help ;) Have a nice one!
bridgeboyMUSIC Hey! Not really. The GH5 has a micro 4/3 sensor, not full frame. Furthermore the Mbps (data information) on the GH5 is only 150Mbps in 50/60fps, compared to 800Mbps on the 1DX mk II (GH5 reaches 400Mbps in 24/25/30fps). Although the Sony a7iii is full frame, it maxes out at 100Mbps.To sum it up: the Canon 1DX Mark II has MUCH more information in each frame, so the image quality will be better. That is also one of the reasons why the Canon is a much more expensive camera.😉

It would have been amazing if Canon gave us LOG upgrade to the 1dxii for Christmas this year but oh well. I'll stick with my James Miller Log profiles they grade really well and I think is on par with CLog. I posted this in a few other videos but I'll say it again, I am fully happy with my 1dxii upgrade in 2018. I upgraded from a 5Diii and I couldn't be happier. I am a still shooter at heart however I want to get more into video for personal use and some small video projects and paid work so for me the 1dxii made the most sense. The fact that it has so much capability still today is remarkable. Yet it has some downsides like the files are HUGE but really only in 4k 60p. But like you mentioned it's because of the 800mbps is just INSANE but makes for such a smooth and detailed image it's unreal. I use a C200 as an A camera and a 1DX MkII as a B camera. The C200 (shooting RAW) is a much better camera (love the built in ND filters especially), with better dynamic range and much more flexibility in post. Ideally, I would shoot with two of them. That said, using the same lenses, if I expose the shot correctly on the 1DX, then it is difficult to tell the difference between them once they are colour corrected and graded. The 1DX holds its own in everything but the toughest lighting conditions, where the C200 will always win. The biggest difference really is their usability. The C200 is faster to set up and work with. It retains its settings if you have to power off and on. You can run it on mains power, you can easily mount accessories like mics, comes with an external monitor, has XLR inputs etc, etc. It's a professional video camera and its really good at doing that. The 1DX is a cracking still camera (which I shoot a lot of) that also happens to be able to do very high quality video as well. I love them both, because they are the right tools for the various jobs I do. So the question is: what's the job you are trying to do?
Hi Marc, I love the specs of the C200, especially the codec Cinema RAW Light. XLR inputs are also a great feature, as you can connect pro mics directly to the camera. If you ONLY shoot videos I would go for the C200, but if you also need to take pictures I'd go for the 1DX mk ii. That's what I "had to" do. Cheers!
Angle bird makes some good c-fast cards and they do go up to 512g they are like $600 but that’s not bad especially if you know how well the company is and how you can’t find that price anywhere else and capacity like 512g you can buy multiple bundles
Resale value for dslr cameras are so low now, so if you have tha buget, mirrorless is a better option to buy so that in the next 2 or 3 years you can still sell it for a great value.
Hey Eddie! Wow, you got a nice camera collection! I still have my A6300, but had to upgrade. The 1D X mark ii is soooo much better that it has actually made it possible to charge more for jobs(!) However, your cameras are dope and I’m sure you can achieve fantastic results. The mark iv is a beast when it comes to photography, but the video specs... The Canon 1D X mark ii changed my career, though. It’s in a different league. Let me know if you get a 1D X mark ii ;)
Hey! The 5d mk 4 is newer, but cannot compare to the 1D X Mark ii when it comes to video specs. It's got a lower bitrate in 4K (500 compared to 800), has a bigger crop factor (1.74 vs 1.3) and does not shoot slow motion in 120fps in HD, only 720p which is pretty pointless these days. Now, that doesn't mean it's a bad camera. It can actually produce better still images, as it's got a bigger sensor. As long as you learn the limits of your camera, I'm pretty sure you can achieve great results. Thanks for the input and have great week!
Hey Michael! Although the a7iii have great specs, the 1dx mark ii is in a different league. E.g. 14fps vs 10fps continuous mode, 4k vs UHD video resolution, and the reason why I went for the 1dx mark ii the Mbps in 4K video: 800Mbps vs 100Mbps. You have soooo much more information in each frame, which makes it much easier to color grade and the picture is sharper. So, these things (and others) make the 1dx mark ii more expensive. Thanks for your input and happy new year!

Cheers!
I am using the 'ProGrade' CFast cards and they are quite affordable and superb quality.
Good to know! Thanks for the tip!
Angle bird makes some good c-fast cards and they do go up to 512g they are like $600 but that’s not bad especially if you know how well the company is and how you can’t find that price anywhere else and capacity like 512g you can buy multiple bundles
Thanks for the tip, Anthony! Seems like a great alternative to the Transcend cards I use.
Amazing video, my friend. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks, Jordi!
Great video
Well done ,sub👍
Put out more content, great production!
Thanks, Zoran! New videos coming soon! ;)
Resale value for dslr cameras are so low now, so if you have tha buget, mirrorless is a better option to buy so that in the next 2 or 3 years you can still sell it for a great value.
I want one so bad. I have two Sony A6500, and a mark IV
I think when people are ready to spend 6K on a top pro model camera they don't need an advice.
Having money doesn’t equal knowledge. Thanks for the input, though ;)
yup, that's why i got one :)
5d mk 4 has log and is newer.
Maybe if it was like... the same price as the a7iii I would get it, and if it had Clog
Why most of nowdays bloggers behaves as clowns?
Full frame crop down in 4K put me right off! GH5 better quality anyway!!
Yeah, it sure is a bummer. Glad you’re happy with the GH5!
Happy new year, Stuart!🥂
