Ed isn’t the easiest of singers to keep up with or match, but God Chris does a damn good job !!
Live is such a great band. Too bad they haven't had enough mass appeal. If you ever get a chance to see them in concert, I highly recommend it.
I'll be taking my 8 year old to see them open up for Counting Crows in about 10 days. It will be his first concert.

Well, they had pretty good mass appeal. They just sort of came along in the worst time, when there were so many other great bands up and coming and others in their prime, like Collective Soul, Offspring, Bootie and the Blowfish, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Blues Traveler, Dave Matthews, and like AIC, Soundgarden, STP, Creed, Pearl Jam still in their prime day, on and on.
It was a great time for us as fans, terrible time for some bands. But still, Live was hugely successful and is still regarded as one of the best rock/post grunge bands of all time. Ed is a phenomenal vocalist. You can listen to Daughtry's singing style and easily see where he got his influence (which he proudly admits).

I suspect that name has caused some challenges for them when trying to sell concert tickets.

No, he isn't. Do you hear the high, falsetto parts that sounded clear as a bell? That was all Ed Kowalczyk. I can personally attest to the fact that singing falsetto and actually sounding good is EXTREMELY difficult. I can't do it, and I think I'm a pretty decent singer.
Nothing against Chris Daughtry. He's a damn good singed, but Ed Kowalczyk is other worldly.
@@danieldougan269 In Chris defense he has gotten way better at the falsetto nowadays. Dude was super raw in Idol.
