InCREDIBLY hard to kill! I was able to bring mine back from some pretty severe root rot, and it's still alive and kicking. I came here to learn how to grow it out more. Great vid👍🏽
I live in the southern Philippines and this thing is so common we see a lot of it just growing on the sides of roads. Every one and their mother has at least 1 pot in their home. Back then, I used to collect its thorns for some reason.
My great grandparents brought this home from Italy YEARS ago. My mom has kept it alive after they passed away. The plant is now at least a hundred years old ❤I plant to keep it after my mom passes. I hope to pass it down for generations ❤
Thank you for sharing your video on crown of thorns. I have a few of them , so your info was very helpful 👍 Do have to wipe the sap off , and seal with anything? . God bless you 🙏
I love your online store🤗. Thank you for the video, very informative. Since you mentioned about pest, do you happen to know what is this moldy on some of the leaves? I only see it on the crown of thorns and not other plants. Thanks
Thank you for your video! I accidentally snapped the stem and the entire half top of the plant is broken off. What can I do to save my Crown of Thorns? Thank you!
"very difficult to kill" - well.. I killed mine! we had a 20-30 yr old plant at work, and it was flowering and then just dried up. The branches are brittle and break off in places, the leaves dried up. I cut it back as much as I could (It had a 4 ft diameter, twisty branches all over) and back to paying attention to watering. Any chance it may survive?
so if i want to re root a plant i just cut off one of the stems remove the flowers leave the leafs on let it dry out for 4 days.. then plant it. correct..
We will pass this suggestion along to Byron! In the meantime, please review the following care sheet for the fertilizer requirements www.logees.com/media/care/pdf/Euphorbia.pdf
They are not heavy feeders so once a week with a reduced amount from the container instructions during the active growing season which is summer. That would be half strength or ¼ strength. Discontinue in winter when growth has stopped and temperatures are cooler. You can prune if need to keep the plant shapely. This is best done in spring when they start to grow vigorously.
Thank you for sharing!! i picked one up today as per the recommendation of someone at Lowes. I'm worried now because everything I'm finding says they are best as house plants. Do they not do well outside? (As a shrub.)
I have mine that has to leaves on top and nothing below how do I get it bushy? and another one that has all leaves I dont know why my neighbour' s has her all bushy all year round ? why is this happening? thanks
No. I reported it into terra-cotta when I brought it home 2 months ago, and have bottom watered it twice after that. I’m going to keep it in the fullest sun I can and refrain from any watering until truly dry!!! Thank you for the great video!!
How many hours of sunlight is it receiving? Are you currently fertilizing it at all? If so, what is the NPK value on the fertilizer and how often is it being applied?

I panicked when he sliced it in half
They respond pretty well to a hard pruning :)

You should do a video about the way you fertilize crown of thorns and how often you do it.
We will pass this suggestion along to Byron! In the meantime, please review the following care sheet for the fertilizer requirements www.logees.com/media/care/pdf/Euphorbia.pdf
Very informative. Thans for the video.
Very nice👌👌
Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
My crown of thorns just growing more leaves and stop flowering what should I do? Thank you.
Give it as much direct sun light as you can. It will come back into flower.
Thank you. Another question please, what type of fertiliser should I use and how often? Do I need to prune the lower part leaves?

Discontinue in winter when growth has stopped and temperatures are cooler. You can prune if need to keep the plant shapely. This is best done in spring when they start to grow vigorously.
Awesome video. Thanks!

You can prune it back a little bit to promote more branching a bushier specimen.
thank you sir
Olá!! Very good!!!
👩❤️👩😘❤👨❤️💋👨💪💋😍
Mine keeps dropping leaves but still putting out new flowers. I think I need to lay off the watering.
Are you allowing the plant to dry down completely between waterings?
No. I reported it into terra-cotta when I brought it home 2 months ago, and have bottom watered it twice after that. I’m going to keep it in the fullest sun I can and refrain from any watering until truly dry!!! Thank you for the great video!!
U say they r house plants and at the same time u say they need full 🌞 light...how?
Southern window is best! Right up against the glass.
My euphorbia does not flowering, why?
How many hours of sunlight is it receiving? Are you currently fertilizing it at all? If so, what is the NPK value on the fertilizer and how often is it being applied?
