The media took the question "Did X win the championship or did Y lose?" and made it their entire personality.
What’s crazy about the NBA is there are waayyyy more underrated players than overrated players but all people want to do is argue over who is overrated. The negativity makes me not want to follow the league much.
My only question is how important is defense ? Can we get a consensus on that ? Because I swear people pick and choose when it matters.
If Luka and the Mavs defended better they would have won? (keep in mind they defended the Celtics better than anyone else in the play offs)
If Luka and especially the other Mavs played better offense they would have won. (keep in mind the broke 100 once and won it).

Cap everyone saying Luka should get better on defense but that does t take away from the fact he just led an ok team to the finals something that none of those two way players have done that people keep yapping about lol. @@purplesky4157 Mavs are not an ok team just because they lost in the finals. Post All-Star break they had the second best record in the league. That wasn’t just because of Luka either. Same thing in the playoffs, outside of the finals the Mavs played like one of the best teams in the league. Plus Kyrie is on that team. Again, he isn’t ok just because he had a bad series. He’s one of the top players in the league.
I don’t know why y’all downplay teams to boost stars you like.

The issue with how people talk about basketball right now is that its centered around one or two players supposedly carrying a squad to anything. This leads the conversations to only focus on these superstars and what they should have done better when in reality most of the time its just their role players needed to actually play their role. A lot of superstars are treated like they play poorly when they dont and its usually because of their teammates not holding up their end of the deal.
Of course just for clicks, lets feed people's ego to stay satisfied.💀

Honestly this is why I like First Things First, and don't watch any other "mainstream" stuff. After game 3 Nick defended Luka, Broussard had criticisms but didn't go too far, and Wildes was the "antagonizer". Nick and Broussard admitted they were wrong about the Celtics after game 2. They all have biases but they keep each other in check/honest. It's such a great dynamic, and it doesn't feel like they go TOO hard for ANY player. Except maybe Pat Bev 🤣
