I know there were like 2 dudes 5'7 who played but I doubt when they were 16 or 17 someone walked up to them in the street and said they should play basketball the way they walk up to a 6'8 dude .

@Sam707BFBC True, but I think Joe was more critical of non-MMA people passing critical judgement on MMA athletes, ie, Stephen A Smith talking about Cowboy's talent. I don't agree with Joe's stance on that in general btw, and there are much better examples of him over reaching on certain topics he is clearly out of his depth with, ie politics, but here, he is merely discussing Jordan from an athletic perspective and how much work it takes to be a consistent winner. He is not being critical of his talents. Now, if he started talking about the NBA GOAT discussion and passing judgement on Jordan vs LeBron, that would be different and more in line with what he is critical of I think

Joe actually perfectly describes what's so great about basketball. Some sports require more raw strength and athleticism (football, rugby) and others require more precision and skill (golf, baseball, soccer), but basketball falls right in the middle where you need to be elite at both to play at a professional level.

You got that right, Joe! That's why MJ dominated. He had flight and strength and speed but developed a jump shot from 20 feet and the best Fade-away in the history of the game. He was the best defensive guard in the history of the game. Even when he was old he grabbed a ton of steals. Any person who opened their mouth to say something just fueled a reason in him to go after them. The media said Pistons were too tough, he gained 15 pounds of muscle. The media said he couldn't shoot the three like Clyde Drexler, he beats the finals record for threes in a half in the first game of the 1992 Finals. Whatever challenge you gave him, he took it to a serious reason. He'd read local papers in towns that had weak NBA teams just to try and find a negative comment about him so he could shut that person up. He wanted to win, so he stopped scoring so much to give the ball to Grant and Pippen and other role players, so those players could do some of the work, but also be more motivated to do their roles as Phil Jackson asked. He averaged 37 points in a season. In todays NBA he would have averaged 45 or maybe more. He was ridiculously good. That is why he is my idol. That is why I took up on playing basketball. That is why I know most f these facts since that time, because I read everything about him. But, the guys are right. I am still enjoying this documentary very much just because of the insane footage that they have. Proof of all that I had read about, or heard interviews. Now, there is so much fresh footage. Especially of the last 1998 season. I am realy enjoying it. Tonight, SUnday, there episodes 7 and 8. Can't wait!

@@robloxkingboss1135 no doubt!! People think you're implying he threw games... I don't think he did that and I don't think you believe that either... but he was for sure betting on basketball and way in over his head with the mafia and numerous others when it came to gambling debts. That's a fact. And it's comical how ppl really think and believe he wanted to play baseball all along... Huh..??? Never once... never ever was baseball ever brought up in Jordan's career as a goal of his or something he might pursue. NEVER!!!! But ppl will casually throw it out there like it makes sense, where it makes zero sense, but dismiss he was suspended from basketball for gambling like it's some sort of reach. But there's tons of evidence. Plus everyone knows how one track minded and obsessed Jordan was with being the greatest ever and he literally just snatched the crown and title of being the Man.... then he just retires bc it's too easy and he's not motivated... Hahahaha. Yeah fucking right... he was finally where he wanted to be but was forced out. Less than a week after his "retirement" the whole investigation was closed... Like you said, better to be "suspended" I mean retired than get busted red handed and banned for life. You're also right about the 45 jersey's. The thing with baseball is he stays relevant in the news, ESPN and with Nike. With him playing baseball they're selling different jersey's, hats, cleats, batting gloves and so on.... And one more point from the baseball scam... he says he was burnt out and wanted to spend time with family and unmotivated so he leaves the sport he's greatest at to pursue a new sport at a low level.... What? Just proving he still had the motivation and desire and drive to compete... Crazy how ppl will ignore this shit just bc they idolize him... I mean I'm a huge Jordan fan and this doesn't change how I feel on how great he is at basketball.. hahaha.

Watch his rookie highlights, he used to just fly through the air...and then slowed down a bit as they put weight on him. That's only physical condition though. Running backs you use strength and speed but basically you try to hold on to the ball, quarter back there is accuratesy depends on your target usually through high or low in an area for only the receiver can get, a pitcher is solo on the mound, and soccer which needs most skill you generally use any part of body to score plus the goal is huge. Basketball you need to measure angles on J's and layups
