Spending the first few minutes of the Outer Wilds video convincing people to not watch said Outer Wilds video is a blood oath every person making an Outer Wilds video needs to take (speaking from experience)
I'm so glad I got to play this game completely blind. It is SOOO amazing and honestly it felt really amazing to piece together what happened all on my own with no help.
One of my best friends used to be a streamer and one of the first streams I joined was them playing outer wilds, somewhere in the dlc I think? I am forever grateful that as soon as I said hi they told me to leave their stream so I can play it for myself (partly since I also used to stream). This game really hits so different when you're the one in control of the experience instead of just watching someone else play. It's been about 3 years now(?) since I've played this and I still think about outer wilds and the impact it left on me nearly every day. No piece of media has ever impacted me as much as this
Beautiful. The music near the end of the video, in combination with your message about exploring and enjoying this world, made me tear up. I hope you enjoy Echoes of the Eye! It might feel a bit different in tone in places, but it's absolutely a worthy expansion to the base game.
Next, play it in VR (excellent mod for it). Feel so blessed I had my first playthrough in VR. Nothing before or since like it, probably never will be. (Subnautica in VR maybe close...)
14.3 Billion Years was the First song i heard before starting my playthrough. it was one of the 2 reasons i startet playing this game, the second reason was this zealot like dedication to not spoil the game. This Game is Amazing and im so Glad i played it, yet i wish i could erase the memory of it just to experience it again, like most of us probably do. *SPOILERS YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED*!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The first two times the Nova killed me i was like pretty far from the sun like near dark bramble or the white hole station, and suddenly something blue apeared and killed me, took me a while to recognize o shiz the sun exploded, further connecting that the twin plaets could be used to tell how long the loop lasts. Some planets made me very uneasy, 2 to be specific and funnily it was not Dark Bramble. It was Brittle Hollow and Giants Deep And looking back i can tell why those 2 made me feel uneasy. I have a fear of Falling (Brittle Hollow) and the Deep parts of the Ocean (Giants Deep) The Anglers only scared me Once when i first got into Dark Bramble and found the one that sleeps near the middle of the Entry Room. The first time i got near the Core of Giants Deep it was terrifiying. The disorientation no bottom in sight except that strange purple electro orb. Brittle Hollow was the first Planet i landed on and after getting throu the nomai pod and into the hollow planet, i imidiatly was like "is that a fking black hole." since i was not aware of the loop yet i was hesitant on exploring it but, brittle hollow being what it is i was falling sooner rather than later. I Orbitet it a few times and got sucked in anyway. but did not die i was perplexed where the heck did i end up. and suddenly blue and ded. In a few Years when i have hopefully forgotten the games i played i hopefully remember to play it again and maybe, just maybe i have forgotten enougth for it to be like a fresh start. it will never be 100% the same but, one can hope it feel similar. sorry for bad writing, i am sleep deprived, not my first language and i think im dislexic or how the fk thats writen...
Very glad you enjoyed it! I just finished the dlc and can say that it was very good too! Excited for anything this developer makes in the future. I also wish I could erase my memories and play it again 😭😭
Man, I will basically steal-adopt that free spoiler section to see if I can finally convince some of my friends to play it lol Also, How in the Heck does a channel with this level of video editing is still under 1000 subscribers??? May the travelers song be with you, because I will observe your career with great interest.
I landed on the Sun Station first try. Then the second. Didn't get the achievement either time. Maybe it's because I was playing the Xbox One version on PC via Microsoft Store, because Outer Wilds is cross compatible for Windows PCs. I thought to play the multiplayer mod, I'd have to get the game twice, but no, I could just find someone who can boot it to Xbox after making modifications for the PC version of the Xbox version, and I could just have someone play on the console I have set as my 'Home Console', and I could play multiplayer that way! Assuming the mod could be made to make the game cross compatible. Then again, the PC version has settings that the Xbox version doesn't, like the ability to disable V-Sync, and reduce the graphics, which on Xbox, cause Giant's Deep to flash weirdly when lightning goes on in its atmosphere, and also, Xbox has load times, and whilst those technically still exist in PC, I only know they exist because console. Well, no, I saw the loading icon afew times on some streams of the game, but when playing I was reminded of it on console. Ya know, for the DLC, Spoilers: -When you get to -_-that place,-_- nothing is loaded except the bare essentials of where you load in. Not even the hecking way you load in, nor the places the Olks loaded in prior to fucking dying, probably to Ghost Matter, because there are patches of that in the Stranger. Given how much water is in the ringworld, I'm kinda surprised any exists, but at the same time, maybe were the Stranger not designed that way, it would be out quicker, but liek, there're patches of Ghost Matter in Giant's Deep, so clearly that's not how that works. Or maybe there's something special about Giant's Deep. Who knows, really?- (Edit): Okay. Using the eject button to enter the Sun Station is far more clever than getting into a stable orbit around the Sun, and now I feel slightly daft for not thinking of that myself, considering how many times I just launched at something using the eject button. I still feel smarter overall because when I intentionally misgender the Hearthians in my script, atleast I'm not defaulting to privilege, and especially not regarding the *_LEAST_* andromorphic-looking characters. Well, atleast from when I'm currently watching you haven't misgendered Gabbro or Feldspar yet, but there's still time! (Edit): Oh wait, I already hear endtimes. I'mma take a *_WILD_* guess that you'll dissapoint me in the sequel video, if there is one, regarding the pronouns used for The Prisoner, or any of the other Olks, or even the Hearthians. Hecc, so long as you ascribe gender onto the Hearthians, (especially a binary,) I'mma guess you'll do the same to the Nomai. The ones who're actually binary. I'm sure you won't get Solanum right.

holy shit ejecting into the sun station was actually so smart hahaha
