Thank you for playing Boz on your Reaction Channel. Your choice of music and reviews are always spot on. Your hard work bringing music lost in time to a new generation is fantastic and greatly appreciated by old men like me in our 70s. Smooth and Funky Boz, give us more.
My Dad used to play this album on the entertainment center as family get togethers were winding down. It blasted out of every open window so the guys could chill with a beer in the back yard and the gals could chat at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee. I’m sure I used it as cleaning up music several times when my kids were young. That walking bass line, head bouncing beat and shoulder rolling groove is music for the soul. I didn’t realize how much I missed me some Boz Skaggs tunes. Thank you for bringing the dirty low down back around.
Boz is a very fine guitarist, Blues/Rock/Jazz/Country.... he has it locked down. Keyboards, incredible arrangements and Out Of This World Unique Vocals. Unlike anyone else. A TOP SHELF Singer/Songwriter of Legendary status indeed. Nice choice JM.. TOO COOL again
Boz Skaggs got his start in blues. He co-wrote this song with the founding members of the group Toto, before they became Toto. As a matter of fact, the majority of the musicians on this recording are the band Toto!!
The funky beat laid down by Jeff Porcaro on the drums gives a smooth groove to this timeless tune. Enjoyed your reaction to the "Boz" man. Thanks for not PAUSING!
You are flying high my boy. Just saw Boz in concert last month. Great artist great music great entertainment. Catch him live if you can, and dive deep in his catalogue. Lido Shuffle should be on your radar, but Boz has a bunch to quench your musical thirst. Nice reaction to this one.
I first saw Boz Scaggs with the Steve Miller Blues Band in 1966 and later in the mid-seventies when he was solo but on tour with the Steve Miller Band so they sat in on each other's sets...there was so much 'positive' music pouring out of radios back then...this tune..."Listen to the Music" by the Doobie Brothers..."Ramblin' Man" by the Allman Brothers Band...it's no wonder that people have such good feelings about the seventies...the music was just so 'UP' compared to these days.
Just discovered your channel love it. Like your willingness to listen all the way through and your comments . welcome to this. Jeff on drums rip his idea of double hi hat pattern brilliant put this whole thing on and drive somewhere. Keep digging
I'm so pissed off, he was in Modesto last year, but the tickets were so $$$$. I couldn't afford to go! I'm 77 and alone now so my income isn't very much ..being a widow sux b
@@monaestrada6256 Ticket prices are outrageous. I remember in the 70’s when we had to wait in line outdoors for the box office to open so we could buy concert tickets at about $40.
Hey JMBOY, I really enjoy watching your reactions, especially since you don't pause it every ten seconds to make a comment. I wish other reactors, listening to something for the 1st time would just listen through the entire song and then play it back to comment or just comment when it's over. Just for that alone I give you a thumbs up every time. Keep it up.
Man,that brings back some good disco memories, crowded dancing floors with lights flashing under your feet, and disco ball spinning overhead. That was amazingly fun times!
In my 68 Camaro, I pulled up to a crowd near the beach and cranked up this tune. In just a few seconds everybody was dancing. It has that effect on people.
Are you Phucking Kidding Me!!.... When I look at the legendary names you recently added to your Playlist, I just smile thinking there are at least 50 songs that belong in each name... JMBOY..... You're just pulling away from the curb, just getting started on the trip you're taking. You have a lot of us going along for the ride in your back seat. Keep your eyes on the road focused on only the best quality you see laid out in front of you.

The "Flute" is a keyboard. Boz always said his Voice is his most important instrument, and concentrates on being as close to perfect as he can. He is certainly one of my Favorite singers in my collection, and he writes some damn good tunes.
I'm definitely gonna save this song and listen to it while I'm high because I seem to get a 70's vib when I'm high sometimes I get an 80's long-haired rocker vib too but that 70's velvet/shag carpet van or that conversation pit that's in the middle of the living room that you step down into with the leather seating and that hanging round triangle fire pit in the middle of it is something else those 70's notes hit hard when I'm high and my god this song seems to fit with that mood PERFECTLY!!!! I cant wait to restock my weed get high and play this soon! I'm telling you! when pay day hits man!!!! I'm gone I'm done I'm gonna be out in the clouds for sure!!!!! so glad I clicked this video! and you just gained a new subscriber! He’s still going strong - just saw his show last year. Incredible !❤ I think you’d be blown away by him and his singers on Love, Look What You’ve Done to Me”. Those girls are phenomenal.
What you heard there was the formation of the band TOTO. Keyboardist David Paich co wrote most of the songs on the LP with Boz and afterwards joined other session musicians that played on it to form one of the most talented collection of musicians ever. No exaggeration you should check them out.
He had some fine songs! Such a groove. I missed an opportunity to see him a few months ago. I don’t like the venue. At 63 and having just beat cancer for the 5th time in the last 5 years - and having seen almost every band I care about over the past 50 years-I’m not compromising on that (venue). Tasty shuffle groove by Jeff Porcaro of Toto 🙂

Blue Eyed Soul at it's best right here. With Boz Skags play him on my internet radio show Classic Soul me The Masterblaster .

"Lowdown"
Baby's into runnin' around, hangin' with the crowd
Puttin' your business in the street, talkin' out loud
Sayin' you bought her this and that
And how much you done spent
I swear she must believe it's all heaven sent
Hey, boy
You better bring the chick around
To the sad, sad truth
The dirty lowdown
(Oohooohooohooo)
(I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who)
Taught her how to talk like that
(Oohooohooohooo)
(I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who)
Gave her that big idea
Nothin' you can't handle, nothin' you ain't got
Put your money on the table and drive it off the lot
Turn on that old lovelight and turn a "Maybe" to a "Yes"
Same old schoolboy game got you into this mess
Hey son
Better get on back to town
Face the sad old truth
The dirty lowdown
(Oohooohooohooo)
(I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who)
Put those ideas in your head
(Oohooohooohooo)

Come on back down, little son
Dig the low, low, low, low, lowdown!
You ain't got to be so bad, got to be so cold
This dog eat dog existence sure is getting old
Got to have a jones for this, jones for that
This runnin' with the Joneses, boy, just ain't where it's at, no, no
You gonna come back around
To the sad, sad truth
The dirty lowdown
(Oohooohooohooo)
(I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who)
Got you thinking like that, boy
(Oohooohooohooo)
(I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who)
I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who
Said I wonder, wonder, wonder, I wonder who
Oh, look out for that lowdown
(I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who)
That dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty lowdown
(Ooohooohooohooo)
I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who
Ooohooohooohooo
I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who
Got you thinkin' like that
Got you thinkin' just like that
(Ooohooohooohooo)

I'm ashamed of you
I wonder, wonder, wonder, wonder who
