Oh,dear. Yikes. I am sorry, for those she left behind. What a terrifying way to leave this world. I am most sorry for the alligator. There are warning signs all over the place.

  • @Khous-yg1ur

I really don't understand the reasoning of euthanizing the gator. The gator is doing what comes natural to its species, which is "you're too close to my area, so I'm going to attack" or "I'm hungry, and there's this edible thing here. I'm going to attack." I think they should have done the autopsy of the woman first to determine when she died and to see if the gator was actually the cause, or if she was killed and dumped. Either way, the gator is doing what comes naturally. If anything, they should have relocated it if it was too close to a neighborhood, housing area, or place frequented by people.

You can be careful all you want, but those gators can almost leap out of the water and grab anything they desire if your within 10 feet of the bank. I live in florida and the attacks are common here, so I'm not sure why Texas gators would be any different except possible fish sizes being bigger there, and the gators fuller bellies. If fishing is taking down their normal diet, then expect more gator attacks. They won't turn down a meal if they're hungry especially in the darker parts of the day, but I've been chased twice when fishing in FLA.

I went to a park and took my doberman dog. I saw the signs around the pond area be aware alegators. But I had been told it was just a scare tactic. So I let my guard down. I set my lounging chair at the waters edge reading a book my dog was near me not quite in the water. I was looking at the water and saw the eyes of the aligator looking at me or my dog. I felt calm but also fear. I got my things together and called my dog. I did not have him on a leach there was noone around and was headed for my car to leave. My dog went to another part of the pond as he was standing there I noticed a huge aligator out of the water not moving but staring at my dog. My dog did not know the aligator was there. Finally my dog came to me I never went back. We were both very lucky that day it could have hone in a different direction. Always be aware of your surroundings read the signs there there for a reason. Do not wade or go near a pond or lake and esp not with a dog. Keep your animal on a leash. Stay safe

It is NOT obvious how she died. Someone may have unalived her and tossed her body in the bayou where an alligator ate her remains.
She could have been shot, stabbed, poisoned, asphyxiated, etc.
Also, people want answers about their loved ones; law enforcement, medical examiners, forensics, and others must accurately document findings in reports; evidence must be collected and stored properly, etc.
