Burr's spot on colbert sucked because Stephen wasn't throwing the ball back with him. What a fucking liberal stifler man, and that's coming from someone who loved him on Comedy Central.
Yeah there are always exceptional bright spots in the sea of safe. Conan on Late Night back in the 90s was probably more edgy than anything else. That was golden and subversive and irreverent as corporate TV talk shows got.
Craig Ferguson will forever be iconic for how early on he looked at the ridiculousness of the late show format and broke it apart. He was able to have some of the most genuine conversations for what the format was asking.
Conan, Graham Norton and Craig Ferguson are the few late night hosts that are still good, they're all liberal leaning which I'm not but at least they don't shove it down your throat and they actually respect viewers
God I remember when Norton just had a small roll to play on father Ted now he's telling people what American political party he prefers and he's sycophantical to the point of severe cringe so is fallon
Conan, Graham Norton, and Craig Ferguson are my favourite talk shows of recent times, all others are shit. Craig is my all time favourite host, loved that guy. Cried balls when he left!
Isaac Vargas The dude who panders to crowds about anti racism when he did black face of Karl Malone, and all he talks about is politics/ his hate boner for Trump. He’s not only boring, but also a hypocrite. Don’t even get me started on his interview with Phoenix.
Adl Bnymn Read May comment above yours, and explain to me how you can like him? Especially when he takes the moral high ground at any moment, talks about politics all day, AND is a shitty interviewer at times. Did you see his interview with Phoenix who did Joker?
Conan is different. Im from India but i can feel his good natured rustic Irish vibes. Gotta love the man! Just that something about him i can’t explain
Acus Albus Guido Late night shows are not meant to be informative. They need comedic approaches towards trending news to make it entertaining and trump is easy to make fun of. It’s that simple
Acus Albus Guido U might call it propaganda but honestly who takes the shit they see on any late night to heart. I myself don’t watch/like any of it besides Conan every now and then.
The Alpha Male yes Craig was good. Never took himself seriously to the point that the guests were never sure what to say or do. Never felt that there was any agenda with him other than to be different to the other shows but he got pushed out and replaced with James corden who is trying to be the same as the other shows where he is pandering to guests and have scripted questions and story’s as they got something to sell or promote.
Craig Ferguson was great. That's why there are entire youtube channels dedicated to compilations fron his interviews on that show. No chance of people looking back at 6 year old Fallon interviews/monologues
I miss Craig Ferguson. He just had people on and improvised. No pre interview no questions..he even tore apart the "paper with questions" as a meme. This also meant he only had guests on who were comfortable doing that and it was very natural to just show up goof around
ShinRyojin Is that weird I loved seeing Craig flirt with actresses too? Normally I would say 'ew come on' with other Hosts. He was witty and different.
Aussie Dad Bloke he might be the worst. Lol I think some of his stuff is funny but now all he has to talk about is trump and guns and cries to try to make people follow his beliefs. That’s not entertaining to me
Carson was the man. And we shouldn’t remember him from the end of his life. He wanted privacy. He was the absolute best ever. He never played sides and just wanted people to laugh and smile. He was unreal talented.
All talk shows lost their balls after John Stewart and Colbert leaving their respective shows. No bite anymore and no passion. Conan O'Brien only one left with any real comedic passion and is amazing
@@jflanagan9696 It's because of Jon that an entire generation grew up thinking political satire was the news. And as you noted, whenever he was called out on those biased inaccuracies, he would fall behind the "we're just a comedy show" defense. He's more than willing to use his platform to promote his agenda...but completely unwilling to accept the responsibility and culpability he has in/for the messages that are spread from it. His show was clearly an attempt to influence the minds of a younger, less informed, generation. His show wasn't always like that. They used to lambaste everyone. Until he sold out to the 'us vs. them' mindset of the MSM...and that was that for impartiality. I lost a lot of respect for Jon over the years...although tbh, Trevor Noah is a whole lot worse.
Craig Ferguson was the best in terms of going rogue with the set ups of talk shows. He went against the main principles of usual talk shows and it was naturally thrilling and entertaining. One of a kind which unfortunately we will never someone like him again
Genuienly the most amazing hour of television was an episode during the writers strike i believe where Craig Ferguson brought on Steven Wright for an hour and just talked. I remember being 13ish and realizing how unique qn experience it was to see
I think the thing is conan made somebjokes about trump but steven constanly bashes trump to the point where that is the main/only centerpiece of the show.
I just can’t take Colbert seriously. I feel like he’s always in character, an annoying character at that. Jimmy Fallon is just NOT FUNNY. He’s never witty or clever. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, I just don’t understand how he got a talk show. Kimmel used to be cool but now he’s got that cocky douchey way about him. Conan is good. I miss Letterman and Leno. And Ferguson’s old show with the robot!
If he'd stop doing ridiculous stupid shit every single day, they'd stop making fun of him for it. But since Donald Trump is a caricature of a President, and doesn't actually understand how to act like a human being, he can't help but give them ammunition. And when the President of the United States talks the same way that the crazy hobo screaming on the corner does, it's pretty reasonable to rip on him for it. I don't understand why you snowflakes don't just stop watching the shows, if you hate them so much.
British talk shows are so much better! Like graham norton get loads of random celebrities from different fields and different countries who sometimes dont even know each other all on a sofa havin a laugh and drinking, so much better and much more entertaining to watch
guitarplayer32 Oh shit, that's right!! I think it was TIME. Bunch of elitist pearl-clutching dipshits, all of them. I bet 2020's Democratic candidate will be a burning bag of shit with Hillary Clinton's face on it, and record-breaking D/C/L funding
m g Yeah, I can't relegate myself to a political party, not even a Trump fan (but I do give him credit where due: he cut my taxes directly, the DPRK thing, GETTING US OUT OF TPP!! etc.), but the Democrats have appeased and appealed their way to representing only the lobbyist suits attached to the cocks in their mouths, and people are finally waking up to that. Well, people who aren't still blinded by Obama's ability to shoot a 3 pointer or deliver witty remarks to Colbert.
Damon Roark exactly as a man who lives in Kansas I can really relate to Trump. As a man living in Kansas I can relate to a billionaire Manhattan real estate mogul reality TV star city boy. When I'm looking out over the acres of freshly plowed dirt I say to myself. " this is what Trump is about Trump understands this hard work"
Dikembe Brown As a man who lives in Tennessee, I am utterly and completely fatigued by the constant societal tug-of-war between two cookie-cutter ideologies surrounding Trump - both in the digital and corporeal realms.
Neil Boon Colbert was alright a while ago when he was being a satirical Bill O'Reilly, but now that he's being his genuine self, it gets old quickly. We get it, you don't agree with the President on 10000 issues. That doesn't have to consume the entire show.
He and anyone with Daily Show ties are horrible. He, Trevor Noah, John Oliver, and Samantha Bee are keeping us divided and need to be brushed aside, along with their cult following.
Colbert is so desperate to keep the anti trump shit going that he's literally sunk to making fun of the new justice for having the name Bret....it was so cringe inducing
I'll just point out, if you only see bits of colbert on UA-cam, it's the trump-related clips that go to the top and are suggested. The show is overall not quite as trump-centric as it's UA-cam presence (at least on my feed).
I use to stay up late in High School to watch Colbert and Kimmel, but their shows have become unbearable Just peddling propaganda to people that lack critical thinking skills
nolo king same here. Colbert was great- smart guy. I enjoyed him even when I didn’t agree with him. He can’t go more than 90 seconds without talking about Trump now though, and will just make shit up about him for propaganda

blurglide Lol. You're saying it like that stuff didn't happen when they clearly did. This is your guy's only defense, denying it happened and saying anybody who claims it did is a propagandist despite all of the evidence.
Conan is genuine. Conan is smart. Conan is weird and funny af. His brand of weird comedy inspired the likes of John Mulaney and Bill Hader and many more. People like Louis CK, Robert Smigel and Bob Odenkirk wrote for his show and went on to find fame and acclaim in their respective careers. People like John Krasinski, Vanessa Bayer, Mindy Kaling, Ellie Kemper interned for him before they became famous. Howard Stern said Conan was the best interview of his life. Conan is the best late-night host. Period. I rest my case.
Same as the rest of the comment section, I have to say Conan is amazing. Specially when he's not doing the talk show format in his remotes with his staff. Some of them with Jordan Schlansky I watched 10 times or more
I love watching Conan with people but surely not with animals, but Conan still doesn't make it a weird section like the other hosts, screaming and acting scared hiding etc
Conan and Andy are the only ones I honestly like and find funny. Fallon is without a doubt the worst out of the bunch, with his fake laugh and slapping the table, he is just extremely off putting and cringy. The only reason people watch his show is because he has good guests.
I think the only reason Fallon's take on the Tonight Show never crashed and burned was because they had a bunch of subpar comedy bits that they got celebrities to appear in, which lead to a bunch of viral crap stupid people ate up.
Gary Hobbesworth Very true. One of Conan’s writers criticize Fallon calling his comedy Prom King comedy. Fallon relies on lame games and nostalgia fapping like to saved by the bell reunion. Corden is guilty of that too because of them we have horseshit like lip sync battle.
@Jacob Wood The hypocrisy of you liberals is pretty staggering. Trump broke records with how great the economy was. As well as record low unemployment. Two things Obama couldn't do. He tried to ban travel due to the Coronavirus, but you same shithead liberals called that "Racist". Now it's rampant but under a Democrat President the same thing would have happened sooner. You liberals don't know how to be fair. Everything he does is automatically "bad" even though Obama did worse.

Out of all the hosts of the past 20 years the hall of fame still belongs to Conan, David Letterman, Craig Ferguson, and Graham Norton. Talk shows may be dying but those men are the reason that medium has persevered as long as it has.
Craig Ferguson's show wasn't just my favorite talk show, I still consider it one of my favorite TV shows period. He pretty much avoided or subverted every criticism of network late night brought up here, treated the whole thing like it was some "dance like nobody's watching" local programming.

Craig Ferguson deserves a mention too! He's possibly my favourite talk show host. 👍🏻
Craig's a legend but he doesn't have a show anymore I don't think. Super shame.
Burr on Conan is always a good time
Martin Pagon Burr on local morning news shows is hilarious. They don't know how to handle him 😂
And Norm on Conan or Letterman

I have a crush on him and his accent,, ever since I saw him on the drew carey show ❤️
Agree !!
Everyone's talking about Conan and though theres no denying his strengths, Craig's unparalleled brilliance lives on in many people's hearts.
Is that why he rips up the blue paper as he's sitting down every show? A little f you to most talk shows

My favorite talkshow was the Craig Ferguson show. His interviews with Robin Williams are legendary.
I felt attacked when I saw Conan on the thumbnail, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one.
Conan, Graham Norton and Craig Ferguson are the few late night hosts that are still good, they're all liberal leaning which I'm not but at least they don't shove it down your throat and they actually respect viewers
Graham Norton is another political mouth piece. Watch any of his shows in the run-up to the 2016 US election
God I remember when Norton just had a small roll to play on father Ted now he's telling people what American political party he prefers and he's sycophantical to the point of severe cringe so is fallon

AJ Maskelli yh he’s funny an tries to stay away from political topics

AJ Maskelli Still sucks and definatly makes political jokes especially the overplayed Trump jokes
Craig Ferguson was the only late night talk show personality I could watch. Sadly he got tired of the bs and moved on...
He didn't take things seriously which was refreshing and fun to watch.
The master of a conversation
He was the best. Him and Leno.

All talk shows lost their balls after John Stewart and Colbert leaving their respective shows. No bite anymore and no passion.
Conan O'Brien only one left with any real comedic passion and is amazing
Jon Stewart had balls? Wasnt he the one always hiding behind the comedy label when being called out on his irresponsible reporting?
Yeah Stewart bastardized the news to just become entertainment. Screwed up a whole generation.

Neil Boon Colbert sux period. I’d rather watch paint dry.
I love that alot of comments say they agree with the video with the exception of Conan. He is at least, a naturally funny guy.

Peter Borak Kimmel is by far the worse.
Peter Borak Fallon is terrible, but I appreciate that he keeps his show lighter and doesn't bog it down with poltiical rhetoric
I think the only reason Fallon's take on the Tonight Show never crashed and burned was because they had a bunch of subpar comedy bits that they got celebrities to appear in, which lead to a bunch of viral crap stupid people ate up.
Peter Borak women like fallon his humor it's female and beta male branded
Gary Hobbesworth Very true. One of Conan’s writers criticize Fallon calling his comedy Prom King comedy. Fallon relies on lame games and nostalgia fapping like to saved by the bell reunion. Corden is guilty of that too because of them we have horseshit like lip sync battle.
