O my goodness. I came back to your "old" videos and I can see your evolution. What a true inspiration. I only wish I could have a third of your creativity. :)
Thanks for your great ideas and clear instructions. I appreciate that you are organized before you start your video and it helps me believe that I can do it too!
Finally, I've been searching for clear instructions on paper bag albums, and this is exactly that. Thank you so much for sharing. I love the canvas cover, I have alot of canvas left over from another project and now I can incorporate it in my minis,so double thanks...Blessings.
I just found this tutorial and I thank you so much for making this so simple to follow. I’m making the senior citizens ladies in my Mother-in-laws church each a paperbag album. Thank you again
A dooleywhopper?!?! too funny...this was soooo validating for me because I often makeup tool names too! I love your approach. Paper bag albums are my jam. I appreciate your sharing your version.
So glad I found this! I just started working on a paper bag album but wasn't quite sure about the putting it together part, now I have some wonderful ideas. Thanks so much for sharing!
I am so glad you made this tutorial for us. You are incredibly talented! I cannot thank you enough for explaining this method step by step. You have made my day!
Oh my goodness I just am finishing up a baby book with this style and it turned out so adorable I can't wait to make more and more I just love having the spine exposed with the bags and I placed 2 lace tabs Around the spine it looks so pretty and it's such a fun size and I can't wait to make more I stocked up on paper bags just because of it thank you so much for sharing this idea it's one of my favorite all time style of Albums🥰❣⚘
Love you paper bag album. I wanted to pass along my idea for your pockets that I have started doing. I have been buying gift tags and in the side where to and from is written I cut a piece of card stock and cover that side and put the gift tags in my pockets. They are so cute. Thank you dmfor sharing your album!
That is one terrific album - thanks for sharing. Love the idea of the D-ring for the spine of the book - might have to take that one on board for future use. Thanks also for visiting my blog and subscribing.
thank you for yor how to video you do some lovely work I love all your videos ou really make it fun and easy for other to put together their own album. can wait to see how mine turns out thanks so much.. enjoy your scrapping
im just viewing this album... very nice.. im not used to doing my paper bag album that way but i'm going to work on one now so that when i get in one of your swap i won't be struggling.. thanks for the wonderful video...
I recently received one of these as a gift after my daughter had twin girls. I don't know if it came from your shop, but it is awesome.......I love this, what a great idea!!!!!
You're so sweet! Thank you for giving me the info for the canvas ~I'll go out and find some! You're two books are beautifully done! I just love them. Thanks again, Hugs,Velma
Thank you! Beautiful albums and great tutorial. I just wish I knew what chip board is:) If it is what I think it is, then it's rather thick and I wonder how you can cut it into the size you need? I wish someone would make a foreigner starter tutorial that showed some real basics - like the tags you decorate, do you make them yourself or do you buy them in a pack. And what tools should a beginner have. I hope one day to make something just ½ as pretty as the ones you made:)
Hi Laura, your creative genius amazes me! Thank you so much for posting the how tos of your creations...I have a question, how do you attach the units of bags together the make the inside of the book before attaching the binding...I get how to attach the 2 bags together to make the units but not sure how the get them all together and the pages flips so nicely...I would really appreciate your help! Thank you! Audra
can you show how u decorated the pages and how you glue it all on to make the middle. i am very interested to see how u came about making the inside as lovely as it is. and how its so sturdy looking.
You bet! I have a kit out with tapestry and have also used faux leather and have one in the works with q mini quilt. As long as it stabilized, almost anything can work!
This is a wonderful tutorial. I like the way you bind the mini album and how you explain what your doing. Is the canvas just purchased by the yard? Also do you need to reinforce the bag slots? Thanks again great project!
This album is WAYYYYYYYY cool!!! What an excellent job you did on BOTH of the albums!!!! Where do you get your Chipboard from? Does it come pre cut to that size or do you cut it down yourself? Thanks so much for this GREAT tutorial!!!!
Hi Laura, I've watched this video and also the two parts of the Gate Fold Paper Bag Album. On this one you say pull the cover reasonably tight over the binding but on the Gate Fold you say allow for expansion. Is there a reason why these are different? It's probably quite simple but I'm a newbee on this. Thank You!
u make it look so easy mine dont come out like this.what paper do u use to cover?and to make the hug tags what do u use?isnt the inside the middle were the tags go still brown?
Great tutorial. Is their anyway to get the volume louder?? I have it turned up completely here & also on my laptops volume. It's extremely hard to hear you & try to work w/the bags as you go. Any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate. Thanks much!! Keep making these tutorials to help peep like me. :)
I was wondering if you would recommend only canvas for the cover. I was thinking of using a piece of thick brocade fabric with a heavy fusible interfacing on the back to make it a bit more sturdy. What is your opinion on this?
Wish it was a bit more detailed. especially in the attachment of the two units or pairs. otherwise fantastic. would love to see the inside of the album too. tfs
Laura, I'm drooling over the Halloween Mini, but I can' figure out how you attach all the sets/units to each other. Maybe I'm attachmentally challenged, but noticed that quite a few others are asking the same question! Help. please! Thanks, Laura H. in Alabama
It's canvas duck yardage from the fabric department at Walmart. It can be found at most chain fabric stores and usually comes in 60" width. I bought 1/4 yd and had enough for the "Strike-a-Pose" album as well as the Halloween album. Cut a bit larger than you need it to be as I mentioned in the tutorial as it can shrink a bit. Hope this helps.
HEY! I got an idea with what you can do with the extra :3. Instead of cutting it off, you can make a flap with a magnet or velcro to attach it and keep it closed. :1 I thought instead of wasting that extra you could put it to good use.
What paper is that that you are using for your Halloween book? I love it and where do you get your Chipboard cover? I love this tutorial thank you so much.
Hi! I am using lunch bags that I purchased from the store. I know you said when you use those you cut them down. How much do you cut off? Where do I buy the chipboard for the front and back? Thanks so much for the tutorial!!
Hi. I love the Tutorial. Where do you buy the chipboard cover? I like Michaels alot but have not been able to find the long chipboard cover. can you recommend any stores?
This is a wonderful video. I really appreciate you taking the time to show details and share info about your books. It has taken me a while to get excited about the mini books, but after seeing some of your work, I think I will get busy. When you say you used canvas from Walmart, do you mean you purchased a canvas duct material by the yard, or did they have artist canvas? If artist canvas, was it primed?
Hi. I love the Tutorial. Where do you buy the chipboard cover? I like Michaels alot but have not been able to find the long chipboard cover. can you recommend any stores? At 10.28 you say you attached the big sides together how do you do that. Are you using one sheet of paper cut to size to attach both sections.
