Super interesting! I'm from Switzerland and mobile phone plans here are quite expensive, like everything in this country - but having unlimited internet on the go without limitations is very important for me and instead of having both cheap WiFi and a cheap mobile plan, I just have a premium mobile plan and I use my phone as hotpsot when I'm at home. That works totally fine
Fr I bought a phone that was only for Hotspot when I was told to get the internet box you have to buy a phone only wanted the t-mobile internet box so I bought the phone then he says it wouldn't let me get it the scam is crazy
Hi there ! Thank you so much for your very thorough video . I couldnt get my head around hotspots (I am in my 50's...) but now I am happy to say I know alot about them. So now at work when the internet fails, as it did the other day, I can try and connect to my hotspot!! Very happy
the best explanation on personal hotspots Ive found...I have verizon and get 2 Gig of data a month which works unless we're traveling in the RV. I have to purchase more data every time so I'm wondering is I should just purchase the extra time when I need it or go to a different plan? thanks
If I turn off my iPhone's cellular connection, connect the phone to a public WiFi such as in a coffee shop or airport, then activate the phone's hotspot and use my computer (iPad and/or Chromebook) on the internet from my iPhone hotspot, is the data on my computer still vulnerable or does the phone act as a sort of cutout or vpn? I don't type in any passwords in such a situation. Can WhistleOut or someone reading this answer that question?
I never used a hotspot but want to try it as I'm housesitting someplace without a WIFI. So, I watched several hotspot vids and yours is the most thorough without a doubt. Thanks for your full-scope examination of hotspot. I just subscribed and am glad to "meet" you. Have a great day. :D
3:28- that's cute 😃😁 thanks for showing hotspot which I'm considering to switch to from Spectrum internet which has increased monthly fee by $30 over the last 3 years, crazy.
Tell spectrum that u are cancelling and u are bring yr gear back to their office today. Don’t back down when u talk to them. Don’t answer any questions. Just tell them that u need to cancel service today, period. U will then be xfered to someone else that will lower yr rate to the original price that u were paying. Have done this several times with every inet company that u can imagine. Also setup a calendar reminder for the end of yr contract so that u can repeat the process when yr current contract expires. It works. Do it.
I barely know about what a hotspot can do and I have a few questions: 1. Do I need a special phone plan that allows a hotspot to be created on that phone? Or, hotspot can be created on phones with ordinary data plans? 2. Once the hotspot is created on that phone, can that phone go on internet and be used the same way as without a hotspot on it? 3. Once the hotspot is created on the 1st phone, can my 2nd phone use that hotspot and connect to internet? Thanks much.
Thanks. Man, lots of helpful information like How much streaming etc. Have had No use or reasoning for a HotSpot...but just learning about this for a Long Train trip (with no wifi), . Found out that Plans (at least for Tracfone) need to be of the higher/Highest tier in order to make your phone a Hot Spot and it it gives you 8GB, which will be fine for off and on use over a couple days. Waiting to see if it works. Tracfone uses like three networks? curious.
I use my hotspot in my RV. However sometimes it’s stuttering. I have unlimited data so that’s why I use it. Can I sped it up with an additional device? If so which one? TIA
I have a question about hotspots I have a verizon Hotspot through my phone. And I can connect that to my computer and ipad. And it works just fine. I have no problems with it at all but I wanna ask you? I'm gonna be taking my G ED. Test online in my home do you think that hotspot is equipped enough and strong enough? I could use it for that. Or do I need an Internet connection like AT&T I do have unlimited data with my plan.
Wow I just had to subscribe you are amazing looking forward to seeing more of your videos and you great information keep up the good work thanks for your video great information Kenneth
16:10 it doesn't have any buffering, no lags, it is streaming perfectly fine, just maybe not as clear as it could be.. 16:40 Hulu app: multiple connection errors Does it mean it will eat away whole monthly data allowance in 30 seconds? :D
I have an RCA smart tv and I just got a new Samsung A53 phone and now I can't connect my tv to the hotspot. I can connect my Mac to the horspot though.
QUESTION The carriers I am looking at offer like 5GB of Hot Spot Data - is that IN ADDITION TO the other data that the carrier provides with the plan? So if the plan is 18 GB priority data, do I get 5 GB more data at a Hot Spot? So a total of 23 GB of data?
What about if you don’t have WiFi at home and you have a phone I try to get it to connect my laptop but the laptop is not working good! It said I needed a update because it has windows 7 on it
I'm on Rogers, in Canada, and have unlimited data. However it's throttled after 90 GB. I can get up to 1 Gb bandwidth, but haven't seen over about 430 Mb.
you can use ubs tethering and blu tooth to piggy back off your 4gs network its basically the same sort of thing all you need is an unlimited data plan like i have with Vergin mobile you just need a ubs socket and your charger wire your fine until your being called by someone
you can download a Chrome on your smartphone and type in high speed and it should be able to give you a high-speed also on your smart thing because it's all Wi-Fi
Do you happen to know of any mobile phone companies like visible that will offer you unlimited hotspot data at least 5 megabits per second and faster my wife and I have been AT&t customers forever and we only get the 40 GB per month and the only problem is I can't get her to switch to a regular Android phone she still using a flip phone and you can't get any gigabytes of hotspot data on a flip phone and we go through the 40 gigabytes within about 10 days it's all gone any help you can send her away would be greatly appreciated your videos are very good thank you.
Before I had t mobile home internet I’m grandfathered into one plus international so I have truly unlimited (1080p )HD tethering/ hotspot I’ve use probably about 375 gigs of hd tethering/ mobile Hotspot use for as home internet and on the go every month until I got t mobile home internet for my gaming pc cause it would burn up the phone crazy, so now I use my grandfatherd truly unlimited HD Tethering more on the go now especially on road-trips for my iPad Mini and friends to use in the car witch is so much fun like I said most I’ll use on a road-trip for hotspot alone is 275 gigs if not using at home anymore 😅 most people can’t go over 100 gigs unless your paying extra for me it a 25 dollar international add on t mobile offered 4 years ago for that price it I love it and definitely never getting rid of such the Holy grail of hotspots 😃
I enjoyed this video I will like subscribe, like and share your channel to my friends very clearly explained would have been nice if you put your phone on the ground near a area that has bad signal and then ran speed test on your laptop to see what speed u got because this commonly happens to me when I put my phone on the ground there is chance of electrical interference if there is other devices close by which can cause signal loss and also you can define hotspot as a "AP" Access point which is through your window mostly.
I see that you're not attentive to those (below) asking you questions. Plus you always seem to stutter around too much. I'm gonna have to give you a 👎. Sorry! Answer the questions from your audience!!!
Right off the bat she says go into your phone go to your hotspot blah blah blah blah. Blah blah where the heck is the hotspot. why can't you just slow down.

I'd like to know why it is that companies say "unlimited" data when in fact it ISN'T "unlimited". Isn't that like illegal?

Very helpful information. We are just this week checking out the advantages of hot spots in my daughter's internet plan. So she liked your video.
People are using Visible for home Wi-Fi and Visible is now enforcing the 5mbps hotspot cap harder than before.
Excelent information young lady.. Just what I was looking for
do you have a video for tethering a cable from my iPhone to my laptop ????
Thank you...

I use my hotspot for everything at home. Dumped my cable co. cheers
How about damage on phone? Any idea?
Hotspots are terrible they suck I hate them
😊
Hotspot saving me money lol
I am about to do the same thing. I got 40 gigs of personal hotspot on my phone.

Great info, works with optimum as well.
Does it damage your phone cause of the rapid battery usage and heating from using hotspot?
Thank you so much! Do you recommend a hotspot wifi security setting?
I do the same, when my home WIFI is acting up or down again (Cox Cable) then I use my hotspot.
I have a WIFI Hotspot with Verizon FIOS, it rarely goes down. And I have Visible.
Literally cox has an outage rn so using this hot spot for the first time.

What is a typical speed for those that do not cap the speed (Verizon for instance)?

Great advice ! Congrats !!
Nevermind, I saw your speed test for ATT. :o)
Best explanation I've found (and I've looked around quite a bit). Thanks!
Great vid. ty.
What about if you don’t have WiFi at home and you have a phone I try to get it to connect my laptop but the laptop is not working good! It said I needed a update because it has windows 7 on it
YES..you need a hotspot where I live....no extra heat for the phone that I noticed on my old iPhone XR
Do you have to have a internet connection to supply your mobile hotspot
(mobile cellphone)
Yes

She’s wearing makeup but stop acting desperate.

😛thank you very much 💖 🙏
Speaking of gaming, if you’re looking to play Roblox with your personal hotspot then keep in mind that 1 hour of Roblox gameplay will cost you 1 GB.
Be great if you could summarise the whole video in just one minute.
