The bolas de berlim are made differently in different regions of Portugal try them in Lisbon or algarve they are rolled in granulated sugar with custard cream they are the bomb
3:45 - The "queijada" is supposed to have a cheese-like texture inside because its name derives from "queijo", which is cheese. Try saying that last part 5 times fast. 😄 4:25 - That pastry is made with the pulp of a type of pumpkin called "Abóbora-Gila". As you probably know, most pumpkins are stringy on the inside and can be used to make pastries or desserts. 🙂
@@Livingtheglobe - Yes, pumpkin! We make lots of things with them: soups, pastries or jams. The Gila pumpkin, however, is only used to make pastries and jams. Heck, we even make pastries with rice (Bolo de Arroz), chick peas (Azevia) and beans (Pastel de Feijão)! The Azevia is a traditional christmas pastry pretty much everywhere in Portugal. 🙂
You must come, One day, to Stay, like so Many OTHERS of your country for a lifetime 👍🙏 Portugal os a true paradise, and Porto, is, literaly, like One UNIQUE, HAPPY, FAMILY... I STAY IN SO MANY COUNTRYS INTHE WORLD, FROM THE USA TO SOUTH AMERICA, MANY COUNTRYS IN EUROPE, AND ASIA ALSO, AND, AFTER YEARS WORKING AROUND THE WORLD, I SAY, PORTUGAL IS A PARADISE, AND MY CITY PORTO THE BEST PLACE... IF YOU CAN, COME STAYING HERE, HOUSES ARE 5 OR MORE TIMES CHEAPER AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE, AND FOR HEALTH ALSO IS EXTRAORDINARY, GOD BLESS YOU TWO, AND CONTINUE ALWAYS WITH THOSE HAPPY SMILES/VIBES 👍🙏😀
The Strawberry one at 14:45 seems to have Baiser(Meringue) on Top. It's Egg White with Sugar and then it gets Stirred until it is a thick Foam that will be more Dried than baked at low Temperature :) Good to see that they do something with the Egg White too. You only talk about Stuff with Egg Yoke. Give Egg White a Chance :D
Passionfruit queijada is my favorite :) Pastel de Nata from Manteigaria are the best. Majestic Café is just an overpriced tourist trap! That is a variety of Jesuíta. I`m not a fan of it but I can`t resist the ones at Bruns Bakery (they don`t have them every day though).
Try baking your own Pasteis de Nata! My wife viewed several techniques on UA-cam videos and bakes them in a cupcake pan. She said it does take time, but it's not difficult!
Wow, thank you so much for the suggestion! I'm always looking for new recipes to try, and baking my own Pasteis de Nata sounds like a fun challenge. 😍 I appreciate you sharing your wife's technique, and I can't wait to give it a go! 🍮👩🍳
I absolutely love cheese, Cesar! Your recommendation for Queijada in Porto Portugal made me crave it so much. 😍🧀 I can't wait to try it myself when I visit Portugal. Thank you for sharing this tip with us! 🙏🇵🇹
Um dia aconselho a provar bolo rei e pão de ló. Geralmente é vendido na época do Natal
👌
Tem que experimentar jesuíta na casa Moura e os equeleres na leitaria do paço
Thank you. Next time ☺️

For me Magestic is a turist trap, but Porto is teh best city to eat, drink and shoop
Agree!
Can you recommend a resort near that restaurant
Hi, Yolanda! Which restaurant are you referring to? The one for breakfast?
@@Livingtheglobe yes the one for breakfast
There are no resorts just hotels. We did not stay in a hotel in Porto but there is a wide variety
😊👍🏿
Queijada because it's made with cheese
