Let me tell YOU, I followed Ms. Stansfield from the very beginning, including Blue Zone UK. At one point, I owned all of her albums, CDs, CD singles, 12 inch singles, limited editions, etc. and I had the utmost honor of seeing her in concert when I lived in San Francisco at Bimbo's 365 Club. She is one of my top three female recording artists ever.
She is an incredible talent! Makes me proud to be a northerner! She has a deep love of Philadelphia soul and soulful house which really is theme throughout her oeuvre. There is a version of this which she live duets with her hero Barry White … which is just incredible to watch as well!!
My partner used to listen to her in her bedroom in the 80s she had this album and loved it and she always wanted to watch her live and finally last year I won tickets to see her and simply red live and my partners reaction when Lisa was in front of her singing live all the emotions was such a wonderful day and Lisa sounded amazing ❤
One of my favorite songs back then! I still remember Lisa saying in an interview as a singer cold chocolate milk was very bad. And I was in a band :) LJ
I was at a show once the artist was talking to the crowd and said the magic words .I've been around the world Instantly the crowd started singing this song , before she finished her sentence . Sang the whole song While she just stood their with a shocked look on Her face
Early 90s R&B was the best. This song is truly one of the best of that era. I would check out "Finally" by Cece Penniston & Deborah Cox "Nobody's supposed to be here"....Both huge hits both on the R&B charts and club charts.
Lisa Stansfield, what a voice! She’s from Rochdale in Manchester, she’s a Lancashire lass with an amazing accent. I love a northern accent, maybe because I’m northern too. 🤣 having lived near London for twenty something years I find comfort in hearing a northern accent. ❤ ‘People hold on’ is such a fantastic tune! Definitely one to get you moving and grooving 😂🎉 I’ve seen a lot of people recommend Dina Caroll (I’ve spelt her name wrong) and ‘Don’t be a strange’ or ‘Perfect Year’ are two amazing tunes xx
LOVE Lisa. Try People Hold On and This is the Right Time for a more clubby sound, also Change and Never, Never Gonna give you Up, and her best two ballads All Woman and All the Right Places. TBH everything is amazing. There’s a clip out there of Lisa and Barry White singing All Around the World - check that out!
If you are looking a 90s brit pop you definitely have to check out Dina Carroll, I'd suggest, Don't be a Stranger or Without Love. If you'd like to check out more of Lisa, All Woman is an amazing song. I'm loving all the divas you are reacting to but in my opinion the best female vocalist is a Belgian Canadian singer called Lara Fabian. Her live performances outshine her videos, Adagio, from her live concert From Lara with love.
There's a really good video of her performing this song Live at the Apollo in Harlem. You can literally see people become shocked because they couldn't believe this white, British woman was singing like that. She won over that crowd, which is. a huge accomplishment! ua-cam.com/video/ApmaFyID2EA/v-deo.html
Love her. Time To Make You Mine, People Hold On (With Coldcut), Someday(I’m Coming Back) (from The Bodyguard soundtrack), and Never, Never Gonna Give You Up are my picks. But really, you can’t go wrong with any of her singles.
Love this song! It reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart and No. 1 on the dance chart. You might also enjoy Lisa's hit "This Is the Right Time" (No. 21 pop and No. 1 dance) and "Never, Never Gonna Give You Up" (No. 1 dance ... and she is quite the nudie patootie throughout three-quarters of the music video 🙂)
React to her songs People Hold On, You Can't Deny It, This Is The Right Time, Change, Down In The Depths (Cole Porter cover from the AIDS benefit compilation album Red Hot And Blue which you should react to for the whole album because it has Talking Heads, Annie Lennox, Iggy Pop & Debbie Harry, Jody Watley, U2 and Neneh Cherry among other star players), Change and All Woman please.
@@mimimusick9734 was that show razmatazz? I have a faint recollection of her presenting a kids show on one of those what they did before they were famous progs
Lisa wrote it in '89, so it is her original song, the Barry White duet video was made in '92. I like the duet version a hair more because Barry White had an excellent voice.

She's from Rochdale, my home town!
This song was huuuuggggeeee! You will forever know that chorus! Guarantee it lol
Her performing at the Apollo is great vid too
A definite all-time classic. It never gets old.
This was a hit many years ago I loved it. She is still making music now. Keep smiling❤❤
She is a crazy wonderful singer!

Saw her at Ronny Scotts London a few years back and she still had it.
Great reaction video as always, Thank you.....Lisa Stansfield live is amazing!
She is the best pop/soul female singer of her generation.
Her voice in the chorus is so infectious
My friend, Lisa Stansfield is A VIBE!!!

She must be in Manchester ... its raining ... nice kiss curl ...🌨☂

Love her!
Maybe you know the chorus cuz it was used in “Been Around The World” by Mase, Puff/Diddy, and Notorious BIG?
Wonderful song and so easy to sing along with Lisa!! Wished i could sing .lol Hi Bryson hope you have a wonderful week💕
Thank you! You too!

Golden oldie great song 💞 wonder if she ever found him 😊
I love your reactions. You’re adorable 😊
Thank you!!

She's actually English with a broad Northern accent. She does a pretty good American accent though. One of your most popular British soul singers.
Love her. Time To Make You Mine, People Hold On (With Coldcut), Someday(I’m Coming Back) (from The Bodyguard soundtrack), and Never, Never Gonna Give You Up are my picks. But really, you can’t go wrong with any of her singles.

She also did a duet version with Barry White!!!
For me it's a metaphor - she hurt this guy so deeply that even if they were in the same room he would still be untouchable 💔

Classic
Still sounds as good as it did when I first heard it. The only other song I know is Change. I’d check it out.
❤
I just wanted to say hi and I hope you're having a nice day!
Edit: loved what you were saying at the end of the reaction :p
Thanks! You too!
Lol... we didn't have the internet then to look for him
If it was Michael Hutchence when he was with us RIP you would go searching.
She has a strong north England accent.i believe she's from Sunderland.
Try all woman.
She's a Lancashire lass! She also co-hosted a pop show on kids' TV (before it became CITV, I think) when she was 14.
@@mimimusick9734 was that show razmatazz? I have a faint recollection of her presenting a kids show on one of those what they did before they were famous progs
Diddy sampled this when he was puff for been around the world with mase and biggie if u know the chorus perhaps its because of that
I think this was a Barry White song and Lisa did a great duet cover with Barry which is on UA-cam
Lisa wrote it in '89, so it is her original song, the Barry White duet video was made in '92. I like the duet version a hair more because Barry White had an excellent voice.
She was inspired by Barry White as she's a fan of his and wanted to emulate his style.
OK, I fully expect to see a couple of spit curls peeking out of your beanie in the next video! 😉😊❤️
I’ll see what I can do! 😂
Lisa Stansfield was big in the uk for a few years not my cup of tea however a good singer
definitely dead
I know what you mean by vocal manipulation. She imitates "the black sound" fairly well.
