It’s really traumatic for Prince William and Prince Harry who had to walk behind their Grandmothers coffin. 25 years ago, they were kids, walking behind their mother, Diana
Its funny how they died in the year ending with 2. Like 1952 ,2002 and 2022. Coincidence? I think not. Also the picture of the queen and king consort from the past and now looks the same. Now, the queen is with her beloved husband. Rest In Peace.
@@nimisen5863 he might die around that time too since he is like 74 years old so its possible. Now they are already planning his funeral. In 2032, he would be 83 or 84 years year but chances are he might die before or after

This is one thing I love about Lindsay she does history without the drama and pettiness. Had to unsubscribe from another history channel cause of pettiness. Thanks girl.
With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, I think the most admired monarch in Europe is probably King Felipe of Spain. Whenever I see him with his daughter, the future Queen of Spain, Leonor, it reminds me of King George VI preparing the then-Princess Elizabeth for her role as a monarch. There’s just something about Queens that keeps the world watching with curiosity, perhaps due to their rarity.
@@bestbmw1223 I think we will. Because unless Filippe fucks up comepletely, the chances of a referendum are not that large. Afterall: Doesn´t Spain have larger issues?
Please forgive my frightfully American sentiment, as I mean what I'm about to say with the utmost admiration: the Princess Royal is a badass. Lindsay, you are really amazing as well. Thank you for these videos.
I have to admit that I kinda lost it when Her Majesty started being lowered into the vault. That was what broke me. Seeing The Countess of Wessex, as well as Zara, Prince Harry, and the Prince and Princess of Wales all looked completely devastated throughout all of the various things happening around the Queen's Lying In State was heartbreaking. His Majesty looked like he was about to lose it when God Save The King was sung after the committal.
I lost it as well when her coffin was slowly lowered into the vault. What made cry even more was when her Piper played his last Bagpipe. This is the same Piper that wakes her up in the morning everyday 😢
Can you imagine such a strong present head of family being gone after so many years. She was everyone's Queen for 70 years but she was their mother grandmother greatgrandmother for 96. I had my grandmother into her 90's so I can idendify. Whether you liked her or not she was true to her word.
It would be absolutely wonderful if you could do a video on how the royal tombs were destroyed during the French Revolution. There’s many intresting tales such as Louis XIV’s corpse frightening the crowd due to its preservation
Seeing that last picture from when Phillip and Elizabeth were young to when they were older broke my heart. Years later and they loved each other so much and now they can be together again
Seeing the vigil of the princes reminds me of my own tribute I did for my grandma. The night before her intermittent I placed the box of ashes in the living room with a bowl of popcorn and candles. Much like the many times I did when I lived with her we had popcorn, watched TV and I talked to her. The day of the interment I was charged with transporting the ashes to the site so we played the oldies as we drove much she used to all the time.
Not gonna lie, it still doesn't feel right that her majesty is gone... I love what Boris called her though and I think she should be know as this in history, Elizabeth the Great our beloved Queen 💜 Thanks for the video, from a English lass
It was so bizarre; I went from my own Grandfather's funeral with state representatives yesterday-he was the foremost professor who studied the history of the british commonwealth and was given an OBE by the Queen for his work-at Old St Paul's in Wellington, NZ, to then, a few hours later, watching QEII's funeral on TV the very same night. We even had some of the same hymns. TBH I think he would be pretty chuffed that his funeral was the same day as Her Majesty's, but I think he would've been a bit ticked off that he only lived to 90 and she managed 96, and only one person mentioned his boarding school was on the coast and witnessed the Battle of Britain (he was very much into his war history). RIP granddad, & QEII.
My condolences on your loss. May God bless and keep your grandfather and may His grace shine on you and your family in your time of grief and mourning.

Hi Lindsay, thanks for this and all your royal history videos! I have a suggestion/request: could you please make a video about the royal Swedish warship Vasa? It's a fascinating story, I'd love for you to cover it!
It’s a really good example of why royalty should always surround themselves with people that are always willing to tell their sovereign the truth at all times. Gustav Adolphus (The Great) had surrounded himself with councilors and advisor who were afraid of the possible consequences of telling the king “no”. They knew the ship was unsafe, yet allowed the construction and launch of it proceed according to the king’s wishes. It should never have been allowed in the manner that happened.
