So, after 9 months of getting back to life I finally reached my own synthwave era I had in the 80s - I searched, and found this video (again apparently since I already liked it). I hope to make something a little different than back then. Again, thank you Max 🙂
Nice! We also did a more recent synthwave challenge...there is no short edit for it yet though. Have you seen that?
@@maxkonyi No I have not - But I'll check it - I have been a bit slow after the stroke, but hopefully it will get better eventually 🙂
You are a genius. This was so awsome. Never thought that S1 could sound this good with "just" stock instruments.
Glad you like it! Always a fun challenge...
Simply phenomal. Presonus should hire you for the world to see what even the common Studio One's stock plugins are capable of.
As always: thanks for this great lesson. :)
Thank you Julian! As always, I appreciate your great support 🙏
SUUUUUUPER DOPE! I'm definitely going to try this genre now :-)
Thanks! Love working in synthwave 🥳
Lol your bass face is perfect
Years of training, really 👹
Love your iteration style, very refreshing, i've been banging my head with a current mix and your perspective/insight has me thinking of my track in a new light, great work sir, keep it up!
Great to hear! Thank you 🙏🏼
This is wonderful max
O.O that was SO good. Wow.

I have no idea what you are doing but I love it. Have Studio One....might have to watch some of your vids.........thanks
Ha! Glad you enjoyed it ✨
13:37 I'll have what he's having. Woo! is right! Was a fun stream to be a part of!
🥳🥳🥳
Always good to have you there!
Easily one of the memorable episodes for me. ❤️🎹🎶
Me too! 🥳
After the significant funding that has gone into making Studio One the DAW it now is, management should make contracting your services a priority.
🙌✨🙌
Thank you for the support! Maybe one day...
@@maxkonyi BTW. I commented in Presonus latest video they should hire you.
@@WojciechKobus Ha! Thank you 🙏🏼
Very kind as always!
Masterpiece
Watched it second time and probably gonna watch some more. Sick.
Ha! That's great 👌🏼
Watched again 😄
5 pro is not to be look below other daws. It has a tons of stock good sounding synths and best fx on the game. I was between this and fl but cause of 15euros per month full on pro + plugs went for it. Couldnt be happier
Yes I agree! I love it.
More synthwave!!!
Please!
@@maxkonyi more synthwave, please 😅
Ha! Just to be clear, I was agreeing with you, not asking for politeness 😜
This was very well done. And 7:25 was a good catch.

I hope you continue this channel discovered it today such a great content, and I have this question please
I wish you make this tutorial , a lot of time we get facinated with old sample because it got simple melodies but complex to make because it's made from multiple instruments and appears like one smooth one melody like jazz and soul samples , can you please make a simple video about this topic I will be glad. Thanks already
Thank you 🙏🏼
You want to know how to make samples that sound like that?
@@maxkonyi Yeah that's right , because I feel my music is too generative it's ain't smooth like old records , it's either too full or too empty
@@belzeebub6022 Hmm. I'll see what I can do!
14:52 I'm in
Ha! I'll get on it shortly
Great video !
Im following along making the rough synth presets for reference with Mai tai but mine dont quite sound the same ( I have Studio one 5 artist) Are the plugins the same as the pro edition tone quality wise ?
As far as I know, they are exactly the same in terms of quality and functionality. Have you watched the full stream? You can see what I do in much more detail there.
@@maxkonyi Ok Yes, much better now ! Thanks
Hey Max! Thanks for all the tips! I'm a total noob and can't seem to find a way to add that fade in effect to clips that aren't consolidated. At 8:28 how do you have access to this "Modulation" panel (I can see it but there is no interaction possible with it). Thanks in advance!
Hey!
What I'm doing there is editing the MIDI CC data for the mod-wheel. In this case, I have the mod-wheel in Mai Tai routed to the low-pass filter, which means high frequencies are filtered out as I move the wheel.
If you do not actually set this up in Mai Tai, changing that data in the MIDI editor won't do anything. This is not equivalent to fading in an audio clip. What is it you're trying to do exactly?
@@maxkonyi thanks for your answer! Actually I found the solution in one of your videos: I just had to press Ctrl+click on the modulation tab in order to add a « fade-in » effect to my Mai Thai track! Thanks again! I love your work it’s helping me a lot
@@MuseAppleAddict Great! This only works because your Mai Tai track already has the routing I mentioned setup. It may not work with a different preset 👌🏼
Nice - I mean, seriously NICE 😉 Question: do you think the track would/could have been better if you were able to use all of your plugins not just the stock S1 plugins? The reason I ask is that the track sounded great as it is and I'm trying to imagine how it might sound if you used any plugin. Whatever the answer, S1 stock plugins are great... sometimes it's the amount of chpoice that can paralyse us from making great music.
Good question! Perhaps some elements would be better but I think more time would improve the result more than different tools. I don't find stock plugins to be a huge limitation, they just are not as enjoyable and intuitive to use as some others.
I should try that sometime though...a track made with only stock plugins vs the exact same track with 3rd party plugins...
@@maxkonyi I agree... time vs non-stock plugins is probably more the answer. I'll watch out for that video!!
If I have 8 bussed for music and 3 reverb and 2 delays can I route them each channel
Not sure what you mean?
Hi Max, just discovered your channel and have been binge watching all of your studio one tutorials. Quick question, is there a linndrum kit included in studio one? Or would you recommend any specific plugin/sample pack for that sound? Many thanks from the UK.
I'm not sure that there is a specific Linndrum kit in S1. I acquired my sounds many years ago and have forgotten the source. I imagine you can find at least one, if not several, free Linndrum packs sampled by people floating around the internet. Beyond that, I don't have a specific recommendation so searching and listening to demos would be my suggestion.
how to make my piano drums etc sound good like yours
Ha! Practice for many years! Watch many tutorials, ask friends, and make as much music as you can. You will get there in time!
Woah!
Well I've been doing music related stuff pretty seriously since I was 12 or 13 (I'm 32 now), and I started making digital music when I was about 15 or 16. Lots of practice! Where are you now in your musical journey?
@@maxkonyi Wow, how come you are not far more known yet? I'm 17, and I just started trying to learn music production with Studio One :) But I've been a cellist for quite a while now and an absolute music lover
@@krischi2422 That's great to hear! Things take time, but the journey is fun 🌞
7:26 LMAO
What plugins did you use?
The stock plugins that come with S1 Pro. If you click the link the description, you can see the full stream where I originally made the track.
Gimme some lyrics and vocals Max!
Ha! Happens on occasion...
How did you get the outrun kit ? Mine doesnt show up
Which version of S1 do you have? Artist or Pro?
@@maxkonyi I got 5 pro
@@BurntMcgurnt Have you installed ALL the optional content?
@@maxkonyi I think I figured it out thanks though man I found it in installation looking right at me haha
@@BurntMcgurnt Nice!
eres un chingón! ( ask a mexican if you want to know what that means )
If only I knew a Mexican...
i cant even find the impact xt in my version of studio one
Which version do you have? Prime?
Max Konyi unfortunately yea
@@Yuralittlebitchn1gga There's the problem!
Thanks, I guess stock sounds arent bad, im just talentless
lol maybe 15 years of music production experience will help you as well...
Cool bro. Lookin good!
