Ive played in these 3 times each 2.5 hour sessions and personally they’ve been phenomenal. For reference I’m 6’6 220 wear a size 13 and have an athletic style of play(rebounding, dunking, pull up jumpers and etc) I’ve had no containment issues whatsoever and never felt unstable or unsafe in this sneaker. Not saying they’ll stay this way but as of right now they’re at the top of my rotation.
I appreciate that! I think it's a situation of "your mileage may vary" and what you are looking for out of the shoe. My points of comparison come from playing in a number of shoes that have varied in performance. For instance the Anta Kai 1 and Sabrina 2 were amongst the best in overall performance while the LeBron 21, Jordan 39 and GT Hustle 3 had fantastic cushioning. But I think it's a matter of preference and play style. Thank you for the feedback!
You think if you replace the insole of the AJ 39 with the insole from an AJ 18 because those have an embedded carbon fiber shank that it would be a nice substitute? I have a few 18’s might give it a go.
That's a great question! I'd be curious if that works. My only concern would be how much bulk would that add and if your feet would fit comfortably with that on there. I didn't rip out the insoles from the 39s so I'm not 100% how thick they are but I assume they're just about the same as any other Nike insole... Flimsy.
Hopefully I can get the insoles out from the 39’s and 18’s without too much hassle. I think the 18’s insoles would be nice for my foot personally since the 39’s give me some wiggle room especially now since there completely broken in.
@markg5419 that's a good point. If you can, follow up and let me know how that works out. I imagine if you get them out the glue that's already there should hopefully keep the 18s insole in place. I was gonna do something similar for my serious Players only. I want to take that drop in and... Drop it in my OG Kobe 9s.
Used for 4 hoop sessions. And wore them tonight for a shoot around session. That ZoomX is already not feeling as plush and that’s less than two weeks of owning them. Same foolishness that was with the Kobe 4, 8 and 9 with the lunarlon bottoming out. They were comfortable at first. Totally different feel at this point from when I first purchased them. It’s Air Jordan. There is no way they were just going to put ZoomX only in the shoe.
Great point, I hated HATED lunarlon in my Kobe 8s. I ended up taking the insoles out and putting my LeBron 11 insoles in there. It was a tight fit but BUT much more comfortable. With that said if not zoom x, maybe just a beefy full length zoom unit? That would've been perfect.
I can’t be the only one that still just buys basketball shoes to wear around in shorts and casually. I don’t care about traction and all that because I don’t play ball anymore. If I do, I just shoot around or play “21”. As long as the shoe looks good in my opinion and is comfortable, I’m good. These check those two boxes for me.
I see where you're coming from. I think these look great, I wore them casually too and they're a great looking shoe. From that perspective, you like what you like even if you aren't actually playing in them or just shooting around. My perspective is solely performance with a bit of opinion on design and presentation. But overall, they look good!
I believe a bunch of reviewers have fully misunderstood J Type 39, not You! Through market analysis, Jordan shoes in the last decade were often purchased as a fashion accessory, at least 97% of buyers ( m/w ) will buy them for the image and the good looks to wear them every day in the neighborhood, city, or village, to be on their feet all day. In terms of appearance and comfort, they go well with most tracksuits and cargo pants, and simply catch the eye in a good way. Remember, 97% of users enjoy following sports on television, and in that regard, I think this is a bullseye. If you are looking for Jordan shoes for basketball, there is the Jordan Doncic in Jordan Lineup! They are like the Mercedes SL, a grand tourer, perfect in every way, made of the finest materials, but not for racing, rather for cruising and showing off ;)
That was a really nice response, thank you! That's Great point, Jordan brand emphasized this was a shoe with a lot of input from MJ himself and what you have is a shoe that looks good and probably intended for use on and off the court. Thank you!
Tried in store and then in a game provided by a teammate of mine. He wasn’t being generous but he pretty much gave up on these and said they were trash. After I played in them, I echo his words - these are trash.
I'm happy to see similar opinions honestly. I really thought to myself during the edit if I was being too harsh on them. Seeing your thoughts and your friend it's validating. I really wanted to love these but they were really meh.
It's subtle but I see the resemblance at the toe box. I cut a part of the video out that talked about Jordan brand's initiative to design the 31 and up series with a foundation of the OG model (1-X) and how over the years they've moved further and further away from the OG. My hunch was that it kind of stifles what they can do creatively with a design when you have the so to speak elephant in the room. The 38 featured some colorways that resembled the OG 8s and had the X on the outsole to pay homage to the 8s forefoot strap but other than that it wasn't heavy on the nostalgia.
If there is anything I missed or if there's anything you'd like to know about the Jordan 39, leave a comment! Thanks for watching!
This is easily the best review I’ve ever seen on this shoe. Keep doing what you’re doing! I subscribed
Wow!! Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the kind words and really appreciate the sub!
@@thereviewd no problem!
Great review!
Thank you!!

@@thereviewd Absolutely agree with you I just wish everyone got the same overall enjoyment of the 39’s that’s I’ve had so far.
I'm definitely gonna give them another go. That cushioning is everything, it's a dream set up!! but at the very least they look really good.
Dang I was so excited for this year's jordan as I liked the tech. But with the support issues....I dunnoo
I was too, I heard zoom x and full length zoom and I thought it was a dream come true. Playing in them though, it's just too much.

You don’t belong in here buddy, this for the hoopers lol

That 29 is a 39 and 23 all in one. Look closely.
I see it!
My man!! Lol. They didn’t do a very good job.. but it’s there.
