"the HUGE impractical angel wings and an emo pilot who had an addiction to self destructing his own robot" sums up the whole gundam wing series for me altogether.
Actually....the wing zero's wings were practical....they where used to keep the gundam stable in atmosphere while using the buster rifles and also they helped with re-entry,
***** well the wings can double as shields in combat and serve as heat shields for atmospheric re-entry, while the straight sub-wings provide constant thrust and house the beam sabers. And also due to the angel shaped wings it's can also fly much faster and its able to hold a lot more thrusters in the wings :)
Awesome review, stunning poses! The wings are magnificent looking and will surely stand out on any shelf compared to most other RG (with stickers and panel lining of course ;D)
Just woke up and I saw this video :D This is a must buy kit for RG collector like me and the Wing Zero EW is no exception. Gundam W was my 2nd gundam series I ever watch and this one is my favorite suit!
the Death Scythe Hell Custom is my second favorite gundam of all time followed by the Heavyarms Custom. Don't really care for the Sandrock but will get the RG when its released just to complete the set. I noticed the shoulder armor sliding feature...only reason i can think of for that is they may make the Wing Gundam EW as a webshop exclusive or something. the MG version could transform and had a similar setup for the shoulder armor.
Heero every time something goes remotely south "i guess wing has to go" It was funny the first time and kind of understandable but through the rest of the series when it was done it was just "why" That won't stop me from loving this kit and the rest of them
Finished completing this model myself today. I didn't find all the instructions straight forward. If I didn't check out a review of this kit before making it I wouldn't have realised that theirs a shoulder piece which can turn and moves back for example. Because I think I was tired when doing the left arm, I completely stuffed it up and when trying to fix it, I couldn't put things back onto the arm frame. Then there are the stickers. There are a lot of stickers. And on the guide it says sticker thirteen for example goes in three different places but there is only one sticker thirteen in the kit. And the hands. I've decided to only use the close fist hands since those seem much stronger. the ball point hands which allows the fingers to move are actually very weak and fall out easily. The gun with the kit looks awesome but if the hands can't hold the gun then there's not much point in building that gun. A lot of things kept popping out and had to be glued. The part which connected the wings to the humanoid was also particularly week and needed super glue because every time I moved the winged gundam, those wings wanted to fall out. With that said, it's wonderful to look at. Takes a lot of effort but that effort is rewarded because when it's done, it looks absolutely gorgeous. And because I'm just so happy things aren't popping off as a result of glue I had to use, I don't mind so much it doesn't move as well compared to some more modern kits. I'm just happy it's functional. The model kit definitely changes a person's perspective a bit.
Got one for $10 today, building it slowly, because I got to the head and said I want to enjoy it. I build the Wing Zero last year and loved every minute of it. Wing Zero Ew is my favorite idc haha. I wouls love to be able to buy more Code Geass model kits, just waiting on more to be in stores.
Just got done building this as of this comment, its structurally more sound than the RG RX-78 I built when I got back into building Gunpla (no doubt watching this channel has helped too) indeed very back heavy but I was a fun build nonetheless I compared to the old HG Wing Zero EW Id say this what I wished it looked like back in 98.
I had an RG as my first gundam! It didn't really trouble me much so for the new Gundam builders don't be scared to start of with something a bit more complicated. You don't need skill, you just need to know if you are ready to build it.
Aha it is an addiction! I have built 2 RGs, 2 HGs and 1 SD since then.... Now I have 3 more RGs, 3 IBO HGs and 1 MG Gundam Heavyarms sitting in my backlog waiting to be built Gunpla is Freedom
I started out with one of those little SD kits, the Strike Noir I believe. Then I built a few HGs, then a few more with a few MGs scattered through out. Then I built an RG. I like the HGs as something to play around with more than anything else since they are more like a toy but the RGs are what I turn to if I want a nice display piece to play around with every so often at this scale.
Depends on kit- the first time I did it, I took it part by part. Once I was done I realized a lot was hidden by armor. So now I try and spray bigger chunks, like a whole arm or leg at a time. Much more time efficient and looked just the same.
I cant wait to get my hands on this RG. This is my favorite gundam of all time...idc how many other gundams where made and are better. For me this gundam is the alpha and omega of gundams and im pleased to see that it has gotten the RG it deserved. Ive also seen they are goin to make the others from the EW movie. My question is will bandai one day release the tv versions as well.
***** Sometimes I wonder if bandai really gives a hoot about what the fans want. I know that compaired to MG & HG the RG line is fairly new but I think they would really benefit from giving a lot of gundams the RG treatment. Ive seen they have a 00 Raiser in the makings and some of the suits id love to see as RG base designs are already in this form. How hard would it be to make the other GAT suits using the RG Aile strike or a gouf custom using the zaku ii? There are a lot of other suits that id love to see as well. The RG line has become my favorite out of all the model kit lines they make.
rasheed gregory well I think they will eventually make RG's for other gundams but since it's a new line I think they are focusing on the leads for now. I want the TV version too especially the Deathscythe Hell.
I must admit to preferring the original wing to the Zero or the EW variants... I think it's the shoulders that put me off the EW. Too poofy. However, you nailed Hiro, he'd self destruct a ghost-train if someone spilled their popcorn.
Well it certainly *felt* like Endless Wing at the time... probably just a tiredness related mistake at the time. I was a different person 6 months ago. :P
Yay another video ! Keep making more! Anyway what camera do u use for your videos and also what topp coat did u use ? 1 more thing for the wing's panel line you should use a grey marker instead of a black to show some contrast
iPhone 6 and Tamiya TS-80. I actually did use grey on the wings, but apparently it was still too dark. In hindsight, I should have went with blue. French blue.
Looking at your video more closely, wing looks much more simplified than the rg rx78 which started the line. Most of the leg look like just 1-2 more pieces than a hg model kit
I recently bought this model and while I don't have an issue with Zero Custom's design, I did find that it was seemingly difficult to keep the wing pack attached to it. My model appears to have a loose joint for the wings. That kinda made it disappointing....
For some reason I can't put the hands once the bracers are on. Without the bracers, I can insert the hands without issue. Either the joints are short or I'm missing something here. I absolutely followed the instruction btw.
Any idea how I can tighten RG joints? For example, Destiny can't hold his sword without any support, but is there a way to make the joint more sturdy so he can?
Just from the shoulders extending I can tell that they will make the Wing Gundam Ver Ka/ EW version with this mold. I just hope it's not an online exclusive.
Emiliano Godoy both are good kits although my wing zero has too many loose parts (shoulders falling off, back skirts falling off, the fingers on the real grade hands pop off, and the frame feels really loose) I recommend the Freedom but there is a few problems with the freedom I find the wings are hard to lose and the smaller wing parts of the set are too loose on mine. But other than that the kit is very sturdy and good. I’d choose freedom over the wing zero lol and I’m a huge wing fan boy
Hey, just a quick question. Does the kit use the standard RG dock for the action bases under the crotch? Because I noticed that you had the base attached else where. Where exactly on the kit was your base attached to?
Hey +TYPE V3 , a quick question I'm sure comes up alot. How do you remove the remnants of plastic on the model from removing it from the parts tree? I can clip the peices off, and file off the nub-mark, but how do I regain the shining finish afterwords? I am fairly new to Gunpla building and any help or comment is Much appreciated- Thanks for your time!
I had fun with this model, but having an issue with the head crown (right on top of the head) not staying on, it keeps falling off. Am I doing something wrong or might it be defective, requiring me to use glue?
The first kit that ive built when i was a kid was wing zero but im bot really sure if it was an rg. I do remember a lot of stickers though so im assuming it was an rg
I finally got my hands on this thing, and while I'm not quite done with it, it's probably my favorite of the 3 RG's I own so far, being the MK II (AEUG) and the GP01FB. Absolutely do not regret asking for this as a birthday gift.
I already have, the only one I have yet to watch now is Turn A Gundam, although I have been watching Super Robot anime like GaoGaiGar and I was gonna start Getter Robo soon.
Nice review, but might I suggest something for your panel lining? Instead of using black to panel line your white pieces, maybe use a dark gray on white pieces since it's not as bold and overpowering as black.
i just started making gundam model and i was wondering what did you use to make the lines and paint it ? it looks amazing after you draw the lines and paint it
technically there are 6-7 gundam that the Wing gundam series introduced depending on how you count them. 1. Wing Gundam 2 . Gundam Heavyarms/custom 3. Gundam Shenlong/Altron 4. Gundam Sandrock/custom 5. Gundam Deathscythe/Hell 6. wing Gundam zero/custom 7. Gundam Epyon I get that you're probably just referring to the Core 5. that being said Wing Gundam zero was its own separate Gundam from the wing Gundam (unlike the other 4 main Gundam), and while it didn't get as much screen time as the others, Gundam Epyon was epic.
I have a question I was bulid this jut and the left arm inner frame snapped is there any way to repair it or to get a new left arm inner frame. This bulid is really important to me.
I usually collect robot damashiis as they feel more sturdy and less likely to break being figures. I was wondering if this RG line or any other line are fragile? I had a 1/100 non grade exia once that broke on me.
Thanks! One last set of questions for now lol: what do you use for your reviews? Like what's your set up and especially what is used for backdrop. And any tips for me to if I wanted to do reviews? Also thanks for the speedy reply
I film and edit with an iPhone 6 (iMovie). My backdrop is the H-Hanger by Wave. The only tip I can give is to make sure to write down some notes before you film. Nothing's worst than watch dead air while the reviewer is trying to compose their thoughts.
So we can expect the whole set?? i used to have hg version of heavy arms and wing zero but there were alot of defects i hope real grade improves it might get wing zero
Nice interview , great job of doing it , keep it going . But seems that the joint / track on the shoulders are real dammaged ,maybe thats why the shoulder piece could not stay in place....
I just built this kit a couple of days ago but now I found one of the hinges in the right arm of his larger wing got floppy. It can barely hold the wing upward for a couple of second before it goes limp. Do you have any suggestion on how to fix this? It was working very well from the time i finished the kit...
An issue I have is that the sockets of Wing Zero EW is that when I plug the other hands, excluding the manipulator hands, I find them loose and love to pop out. Is it possible to warp the socket back or at least tighten the ball joints?
Hi, im new to Gunpla so pardon my lack of knowledge. How do u make the model so realistic? It doesnt appear to be painted yet it seems like theres a matt finish towards the later half of the video. Also, how do u deal with those stub marks after cutting it off the runners?
***** yea, i just bought my first RG Strike Gundam, next one will be exia and 00 raiser when it comes out, i wish the 00 raiser comes with the GN sword III for the exia:)
On average how long would it take a beginner to put this together? I'm thinking about getting this but if it's going to take me days.to build I'll wait til summer when I have more leisure time
***** you are the best gundam/toy reviewer on youtube. your videos are always good quality. keep up the good work man! lots of love here from Indonesia. subscribed.
So what _is_ the best RG? Exia, I imagine. I would like to break into the grade, but as far as conceptual coverage I already have the HG versions of the 00 and Fenice Rinascita.
Ben N cool. I don't actually have any RG kits yet, what I recommended was just based on what I've been told and what I've observed from others kits. Personally I've got the HG 00 seven sword g coming in soon.
Alex Dalton I put the Seven Sword/G weapons on my HG 00 Raiser + GN Sword III. It's awesomely overwhelming. There's no really efficient way to get everything for the 00.
Ben N yeah. Personally I had an idea for a custom using two of the buster sword, two of the long swords, and two of the big guns from the seven sword g along with a few other modifications to make it look more unique.
True, but I want to practice on an RG kit first before trying my hand at Exia. And I want to get Wing Zero into that pose when he shot the shelter in the movie. :)
I make a lot of mistakes. On average, each review (filming, editing, audio) takes me about 4 hours. Add on another 1-3 hours for writing the actual script.
It appears to be missing the shield. Unless you forgot about it lol. Nice review. Is the real grade the only model where the vulcans pop out of the shoulders?
In the EW manga, proto zero was the wing zero that quatre found. It must've been badly damaged so the zero system was fitted into the body of wing EW, repainted it into the colors we know and equipped it with the tallgeese flugel's space wings
+Albert Guilot Hmm... From Glory Of The Losers, Heero and Quatre abandons Proto Zero again... Based on the original anime, I get the feeling that Zechs is probably the one who turns Proto Zero into Wing Zero Custom... When he Detonates Tallgeese...
"the HUGE impractical angel wings and an emo pilot who had an addiction to self destructing his own robot" sums up the whole gundam wing series for me altogether.
Actually....the wing zero's wings were practical....they where used to keep the gundam stable in atmosphere while using the buster rifles and also they helped with re-entry,
Did they really have to be shaped as Angel Wings? I don't think so.
***** well the wings can double as shields in combat and serve as heat shields for atmospheric re-entry, while the straight sub-wings provide constant thrust and house the beam sabers. And also due to the angel shaped wings it's can also fly much faster and its able to hold a lot more thrusters in the wings :)
This isn't the first time you've had this debate, is it?
***** Ohhh it is :p I just like researching main gundams when I'm bored or want the kit :)
***** angel wing look cool no other gundam did that right?
Just Finished my first RG wing zero custom Gunplay...
They detail is really good imo, u don't need to paint it unless you want to custom it..
really good stuff man!
ZakuAurelius O hi
Hello Sir :)
Hi
Usually I would use all stickers, but the Wing Zero just looks too amazing I just like it the way it is.
The detail they put into this rg is amazing.

Same here

RG RX78-2 and Mk2 engineering are better than this
My nine-year-old is building it. We are having issues with the piece that connects the hips to the torso. Did anyone else?
I was surprised by the lack of decals compared to the other RGs
I must admit to preferring the original wing to the Zero or the EW variants... I think it's the shoulders that put me off the EW. Too poofy. However, you nailed Hiro, he'd self destruct a ghost-train if someone spilled their popcorn.
Yeah, I generally find most people are split on the EW variants.

Hey, just a quick question. Does the kit use the standard RG dock for the action bases under the crotch? Because I noticed that you had the base attached else where. Where exactly on the kit was your base attached to?
Yep, uses the standard RG base adapter. You can either peg it in under the crotch or underneath the backpack.

Thanks!
Can you show the tutorial book all of it because i don't have the tutorial book please help me....
I finally got my hands on this thing, and while I'm not quite done with it, it's probably my favorite of the 3 RG's I own so far, being the MK II (AEUG) and the GP01FB.
Absolutely do not regret asking for this as a birthday gift.
Also it makes me want to watch Wing. I have yet to get around to the rest of the 90's Gundam series.
you should watch 90s gundam.. so amazing and interesting
I already have, the only one I have yet to watch now is Turn A Gundam, although I have been watching Super Robot anime like GaoGaiGar and I was gonna start Getter Robo soon.

ssjMaximum22Goku Really depends on what you like I guess. I like bolder lining vs subtle lining.
Question, for the arms did your socket for the hands meet the end of the armor or are they somewhat inside the armor?
Great review! Your model kit is getting better and better (unlike before, smudged panel lining and stickers coming off).
Yep, but I still have a long way to go before I'll be satisfied.
I just ordered mine I may have been late like 6 years late but I still want this ever since High school
I bought this kit like 4 months ago and idk why but is ur wing zero loose? Cuz mine is :(

try using clear coat on the model afterward.
ExtremeSManpig use a cottonbuds when you apply stickers so it will stick well
Nice review sir, I think this blows the other wing kits at this scale out of the water, and I'm waiting to get mine in the mail
I built this kit bout a day ago but the bigger wings makes it abit hard to pose. I'll take out the bif wings and use the smaller wings instead
I just guessing but I think that your favourite was the Shenlong but mine was the heavy arms
Bought this bad boy in Tokyo last year and just start building him. Cant wait to see my result when it's all done. Have a good day fellows.

I film and edit with an iPhone 6 (iMovie). My backdrop is the H-Hanger by Wave. The only tip I can give is to make sure to write down some notes before you film. Nothing's worst than watch dead air while the reviewer is trying to compose their thoughts.
well done review dear sir, u just got one humble subscriber
Reza Pratama Thanks!
Are you looking forward to the the HRM one coming out this Sep?
Though I wish they made all the rest of the ew mobile suits like nataku hell heavy arms sand rock and epyon
Aizat Zahid Well they other 4 suits were teased when this one was released!
So we can expect the whole set?? i used to have hg version of heavy arms and wing zero but there were alot of defects i hope real grade improves it might get wing zero
if you have the linked of the teaser would be great
I accidentally lost the #16 sticker (the small grey sticker below the gatling part on the left). Is it okay not to sticker on that part?
Nice interview , great job of doing it , keep it going . But seems that the joint / track on the shoulders are real dammaged ,maybe thats why the shoulder piece could not stay in place....
hosze1206 I'm pretty sure they're not. I'm pretty good reading instructions thoroughly. :/
I just built this kit a couple of days ago but now I found one of the hinges in the right arm of his larger wing got floppy. It can barely hold the wing upward for a couple of second before it goes limp. Do you have any suggestion on how to fix this? It was working very well from the time i finished the kit...
gerardray123 Take the arm apart. Coat the joint lightly with either future floor polish or clear nail polish. Should thicken up the connection.
wing is what got me into gundam/gunpla
An issue I have is that the sockets of Wing Zero EW is that when I plug the other hands, excluding the manipulator hands, I find them loose and love to pop out. Is it possible to warp the socket back or at least tighten the ball joints?
Spee9dy if you paint the joints and smooth it out, maybe
+TYPE V3 what do you more prefer the mg version or the rg version, and which do you prefer rg or mg
Do you apply the stickers after or before the gunpla is built? And good review man, the Wing Zero EW was always my favorite amongst all Gundams.
Things like the eyes and cameras I apply as I'm building them. Decals/markings I do once the kit is completed.
I have to choose between this one and its previous version, which one will be the best?
So frickin dope! I love the articulation!
My god I just finished building it and it turned out so small this is my first rg so I wasn't used to it
+Shuo Yi It's 1/144, a pretty standard size (average is 5 inches). Go for MGs if you want 1/100.
Shuo Yi yeah its too small
Hey guys! Just wondering are the wings compatible with hg kits. Planning a kitbash :D
So they are stickers and not water slide!?
Thinking of getting one but where do you buy it online? can you provide a link please? thanks! :)
Hi, im new to Gunpla so pardon my lack of knowledge. How do u make the model so realistic? It doesnt appear to be painted yet it seems like theres a matt finish towards the later half of the video. Also, how do u deal with those stub marks after cutting it off the runners?
+seeetoh It's a matte clear coat. For your second question, use careful knife skills or sandpaper.
+TYPE V3 So the process is paint panel lines > decals > matte clear coat? Do you spray the coat over the figure as a whole or each part individually?
Depends on how thorough you want to be. Just don't spray over clear parts.
hi, cant help but ask, did you apply a top coat to the model?
mjmh92 Yeah, this is definitely top coated. Looks like a matte finish. This also helps prevent the stickers from peeling off.
nice video, so what is your favourite RG model so far?
***** Exia
***** yea, i just bought my first RG Strike Gundam, next one will be exia and 00 raiser when it comes out, i wish the 00 raiser comes with the GN sword III for the exia:)
I got this at hoby loby in Japanese ive not done modles before and ide say its medium there were some moments it had me on my knees
Ah my first gunpla model kit
Dokkan phone society how was it?
Excuse me, for lining, u use grey colour or black colour in white part ?
On average how long would it take a beginner to put this together? I'm thinking about getting this but if it's going to take me days.to build I'll wait til summer when I have more leisure time
Depends how meticulous you are. I'd say 4 hours for a beginner.
Hello! Was wondering where did you get your metallic paint?
Also, I was wondering if you paint your Gundams? If so, what do you use?
I buy them at a local store. Brand I like is Tamiya.
Hi bro nice review. Did u repaint it?
***** you are the best gundam/toy reviewer on youtube. your videos are always good quality. keep up the good work man! lots of love here from Indonesia. subscribed.
Aaarg! Those poses you make looks soo good!
Enough to make you buy it?
well..i love WZ ew,of course
***** Hell yeah
did u use coating for this? it looks so matte and it is amazing!!!
I saw from a different comment he replied on. He said he uses a clear matte coat
I saw from a different comment he replied on. He said he uses a clear matte coat
Apart from the difference in scale, is there any improvement over the old MG wing Zero custom?
Zack Diamond Better wings. But the differences are minor.
Hey bro
Ask you a question why I can't insert the palm to the biceps?
Help I am a beginner
So what _is_ the best RG? Exia, I imagine. I would like to break into the grade, but as far as conceptual coverage I already have the HG versions of the 00 and Fenice Rinascita.
I'd recommend the exia or the red frame astray if you want to get into RG.
Thanks. Just received the Exia today.
Wing Gundam Zero or Exia is the kit that I'm gonna start my RG line. Now I just gotta choose which one.
Would you rather have impractical angel wings or the BEST gundam of them all?
True, but I want to practice on an RG kit first before trying my hand at Exia. And I want to get Wing Zero into that pose when he shot the shelter in the movie. :)
Then go for the angel wings!
i have problem with the joint in the wrist, it can't joint thoroughly -_-
I just got this and I lost a part on runner d1. It was part 7. It’s somewhere in my carpet but I can’t find it :( please send prayers
🙏
What base/stand did you use for this video?
Another thorough review. How many times do you make mistakes, or get tongue tied while recording? Or do you get it right the first time through?
I make a lot of mistakes.
On average, each review (filming, editing, audio) takes me about 4 hours. Add on another 1-3 hours for writing the actual script.
Damnnn you reallymake awesome poses man, hope you also review OTHER RGs. I mean hey you do have the Destiny in this vid afterall
haha... Destiny... haha
It appears to be missing the shield. Unless you forgot about it lol. Nice review. Is the real grade the only model where the vulcans pop out of the shoulders?
WZC doesn't have a shield to begin with
Yeah fair point I revoke that comment. I was getting confused with the proto zero haha
In the EW manga, proto zero was the wing zero that quatre found. It must've been badly damaged so the zero system was fitted into the body of wing EW, repainted it into the colors we know and equipped it with the tallgeese flugel's space wings
Cool. Cheers for the info dude
What do you use to get rid of nub marks? I've used an xacto knife and I've cut myself twice. I'll be avoiding xacto knife from now on LOL
I use a hobby knife.
Put a towel over your fingers XD it helps
Bandai should make a RG Deathscythe EW Ver. sometime soon to go along with the Wing Zero.
And a RG Star Build/Build Strike Gundam would be awesome as well
Bandai showed the silhouette of the other 4 gundams at last year model show. So we can expect the other 4 coming out in the future.
I just hope they make it the one following the RG OO Raiser
Probably another UC series.
叶川ヒロ Yeah, I bet it's another UC series after 00
