We humans are so interesting. Can you really imagine someone putting Feitan and Hisoka in last place? Yet there were quite a few. It would be interesting on randomly selecting 3 of those and do a case study
I think this also has something to do with Hisoka and Illumi not really being the OG Phantom Troupe members? I saw a lot of people commenting that they'll place these guys last cause otherwise their names will ruin the poll.
*LORE:* Franklin actually cut off his own finger tips for his Nen Ability, which was a restriction like Kurapika's Chain Jail, multiplying the aura that his fingers emit, making his Nen Bullets several times stronger than regular bullets, even making it difficult to block with Nen, due to the size and speed contributing to the Lethality. His strength is really underated by the Fan Base.

Honestly I really love Pakunoda as a character. A great personality, and somehow makes the office lady-look badass. I mean, how many characters that got the short end did you really feel bad for?
Pakunada's Nen Ability is extremely underrated for being a member of a theives group, she just has to ask a question and can read the target's mind, then can quickly breif exact Intel to her party. *For Example:* She could ask a weapons manufacturer how they built a weapon, then shoot the info into another engineer and steal the technology for profit.
@@douglascramer1501 you are forgetting the condition. She must remain in physical contact with the person. This may not seem like much at first glance, however it’s a pretty good restriction when consider how weak she is as a fighter. Without her team with her she could not extract information from most hunters. Even Killua broke her arm and Gon chipped her tooth lol.
@@mk_-8794 True, but she is also an attractive female, so her touching people in social settings would not be that difficult. Also, the person she is touching doesn't even realize that she is using Nen, Killua had to deduce it from the situation. Her Nen Ability is extremely powerful in High Society and her crew can restrain specific targets, like you said, so her ability is nothing but an asset to the Phantom Troupe.
I really love Pakunoda and Uvogin's character. They exemplified the idea of camaraderie vs devotion to an idea among the Phantom Troupe. They had cool Nen abilities, the story showed how much the Troupe cared for them, and their deaths made me cry. I don't understand Feitan's popularity. He has a cool design and Nen ability, but that's it. He lacks the tragedy found in Uvogin and Pakunoda, the depth of Chrollo, or the screentime and engaging presence of Hisoka. I hope he gets much needed development in the Succession War Arc, along with the rest of the Troupe. For me it's Chrollo, Hisoka, Pakunoda, Uvogin, and Machi for top 5. Illumi would replace Machi but I don't count his pre-Succession appearances.
Enhancers don't actually have Nen Abilities, they just have larger Aura Reserves. *For Example:* Gon's JaJanken is just basic Nen Use with more Aura. Due to them being unable to fully master Emission and Transmutation, they can't really develop a full Nen Ability, not without combining it with Conjuration or Manipulation. If they do so, then the Nen Ability is usually very rudimentary and only really effective because of the larger Aura Reserves.
@@douglascramer1501 You're confusing Hatsu with Nen abilities. Hatsu is a personal expression of aura via the six aura types. All Nen abilities are Hatsu, but not all Hatsu are Nen abilities. Any Nen user can invoke the basic applications of the aura types, but it's more complex to make a Nen ability. A Ko attack is Hatsu, but imposing a rule on a Ko attack is a Nen ability. In Gon's case, his rule for Jajanken is the chant. In exchange for the chant, he outputs more aura than a usual Ko punch. Palm and Bill are Enhancers, and they have Nen abilities.
Well as a feitan fan i can say that i enjoy feitan alot because he is quite a bit mysterious and hes more of the lets get straight to the point and kill which is something i can respect
@@stonefree7973 that is incorrect. According to Gon, he only named his ability that because he wanted to play a game while he built up his aura, even Uvogin takes awhile to create a full power Ko attack, which he named Big Bang Impact. Emitter Specialty is just maintaining your aura away from your body, the efficacy of which is what constitutes a Hatsu. For Example: Gon's Paper Attack cannot even be compared to Razor's attack. Transmutation Specialty is just the manipulation of your Aura to change its properties, the efficacy of which is what constitutes a Hatsu. Gon's Scissors Attack extends, hardens, and sharpens his aura, however it cannot be compared to any of the transmuters in the series, his manipulation of his aura is that of a complete novice. However, while basic in nature, the attacks are enhanced by Gon's strong Aura. This means that only Masters in those Categories can compete with those techniques head-on, as anyone with less than mastery will have too little Aura to properly defend against those attacks, using the same category of Nen. It is the same reason why you can't beat an Enhancer in a straight fight using Ken, unless you are an Enhancer yourself, as stated by Uvogin.
Another reason Hisoka may have lost to Chrollo is because he technically was a fake member, and has since quit the troupe, so some people might not recognize him as a member.
Also, people, like myself, will have voted in the context of the Phantom Troupe. Chrollo can hunt skills to better assist in future heists, making him the most useful member of the Phantom Troupe.
I love the new graphic with the histograms! Having the memory span of a goldfish, I would have liked to see a summary of each of the average scores at the end of the video too
Man I love this channel. How does this guy always come up with unique subscribe games and new content? It's amazing. And all the info I've learned about HxH over the years with content being injected straight into my UA-cam feed has been so great. Keep it up and thank you
I personally loved Pakunoda, possibly my favorite in the series if Bisky wasnt a thing. Pakuonda was definitely a hidden figure amongst the phantom trouple while battling her own personal emotions while balancing the sake of the phantom troupe in regards to Chrollo being captured etc… an underappreciated character for sure.
Could you imagine the corruption that would have happened in the 2020 Democratic Primary Election? There was like 20 candidates and around 7 of them didn't drop out until the last minute. It would just be an excuse to maintain a Campaign, which would allow them to collect more money, which will be repurposed. Look at what happened in the New York City Mayor Democrat Primary Election, where 40,000 votes were found to be "test ballots" after the Front Runner called for an audit, resulting in his lead growing by a wide margin, upon their removal. Look at the Crackhead that was found passed out, on drugs, in the possession of around 300 stolen Mail-in Ballots. Just keep the system simple, the less the process involves, the easier it is to secure. I can understand that the loss of votes on a poor candidate could elevate another candidate, but that makes your choice in voting less important, which will lead to people being less informed. Additionally, the Democrats have the Super Delegate System, which could change the vote, if they wanted to, which makes the "Rank Choice Voting", completely pointless...
@@douglascramer1501 I mean, America has something even worst than first past the post voting: The Electoral College. If you don't live in one of four specific states, your vote doesn't matter at all!
@@thermophile1695 this is a common misunderstanding. The Electoral College is nothing more than a tentative alliance. When the Constitution was created, the Sovereign States agreed to join a Union, so that they could increase their influence in the World, however, they wanted it to be a tentative alliance and not give up their sovereignty, thus the Electoral College was created. At a State-level, we are a Democracy, which is 1:1 ratio for voting. At the Federal-level, we are a Republic, which uses the Electoral College to keep one State from becoming too oppressive to another, preserving their sovereignty. Some people believe, mistakenly, that the Electoral College undermines the Democratic System, when it is actually preserving/protecting the Democratic System at the State level, maintaining residential Sovereignty. While Federal Government can impose laws over States, they cannot stop the States from expanding upon those Laws. For example: Feds say that MJ is illegal, then States say they agree, but create numerous exceptions. If you didn't have the Electoral College, then the House of Representatives would be unbalanced, giving larger States uncontestable power, which would destroy the Sovereignty of the individual States and undermine their Democratic Systems.
@@douglascramer1501 The existence of the House and Senate is important, yes. Congress does a lot. But the fact that most states are so overwhelmingly blue or red means that neither presidential candidate bothers caring about them, turning an already bad fist past the post system into a mess. For lawmaking: good. For presidential elections: bad
@@thermophile1695 I agree that there are problems, but if it is limited to the only Federal Election, then I think it is worth it. Especially, with the State Governors having more authority than the President, in their own States. The more independence exercised by the States, the less impactful a President is. If a President issues an Executive Order, for example, then the Governor can issue their own to countermand it, in their State. Mostly, the President should be handling Foreign Affairs, Federal Agencies, Border Security, and the Active Duty Military. The Governors have their own military, the National Guard, which they can deploy in their Sovereign Territory. The problem with the current power dynamic is a result of State Officials in numerous States, mostly Blue, that are content to pass their responsibilities and issues on the Federal Government. Our children are also taught that the seat of power in the United States is Washington DC, when that is nothing more than a perpetual State Summit, created in a time when there was not instantaneous communication. Our actual government is supposed to be decentralized across all 50 States, which makes it nearly impossible to deal a lethal blow. *Example:* Jan 6th turning into a massacre would result in only a temporary inconvenience, as States could quickly replace those representatives, it would have a very minimal impact on the functioning of our government.
Phinks is easily my number one. I was really drawn to his character and in the yorknew arc (I think he really just fit in with the group and the story) and those two episodes in the chimera ant arc where he mostly took charge we’re amazing
Most people miss the fact that Phinks' Ripper Cyclone does isolated damage, compared to Uvogin's Big Bang Impact. This makes him extremely effective for controlled demolition, which is essential component for certain heists. For example, he could destroy the door to a vault and not damage the goods beyond, while Uvogin would probably destroy the entire room.
I ask around to see if i an get some Nen-Talk starting; let alone Theorys; let alone Self-Made Hatsu. OR let alone (and call me crazy here) a fan-made movie. Because i saw 'Pokemon: Banette's Curse' made by Fans and it's 'more than we starved hxh-fans need' if you know what i mean with that. I mean, 'A film without special effects doesnt deserve to exist' is a SILLY MYTH for all works of fiction, i'd say - but for HxH?! It applies multiplicated for this single franchise. Script is more important than Effect-Budget; i'd argue that goes for Everything, but it extra-extra goes for HxH. Fans should really get some Camera and write a Script and just do what people do for pokemon for a long time now: Fanfictions in Book-Form but also Short-Movie-Form; that's what we dont realize we need.
...Seriously, please tell me if i'm wrong, but wouldnt we all love if we just see, let's say: A Man coming to a Family-Gathering and bringing the core-family-members aside to tell them about a thing he discovered: It's called... Nen! Just them talking about it and being filmed? I call that worth-it. Please agree or disagree...
I love the reason Illumi joined the troupe. It had nothing to do with his sibling Kalluto, instead, when the troupe started hunting Hisoka for killing Shalnark and Kortopi, Hisoka hit up Illumi and was just like “Hey, the Phantom Troupe wants to kill me, you should join them so we can kill eachother too!” And Illumi did, and didn’t try to hide that Hisoka told him to join, and Chrollo and the others were fine with that.
NOOOOOOOO! I was hoping Pakunoda got so much further! She was my number one 😭😭 But on the other hand, having been apart of the voting was fun! Although I know I didn’t sway much in the grand scale of things, it’s fun to think I had a hand in the shenanigans
Personally think such a big reason why Uvogin’s large number of last place votes is due to the fact that a lot of people just saw that he was the first Troupe Member to die and they equate that with him being the weakest of the group, without much further thought to it
Damn rip Franklin, always had an odd interest in him and his character. His new ability is simple but it’s very useful for the troupe, and his design is really cool with the Frankenstein aesthetic. With that said, I can see why he’s just sorta eh tho cuz he doesn’t do a whole lot except for shoot all the mafia guys and say an important line about the spider as a whole.
Yeah, Franklin is very underated by the Fan Base in strength. Out of all of the Troop Members, he is the only one that can realistically challenge a large force of enemies. His rate of fire is extremely high, he has full range of motion with his limbs and fingers for aiming, and him cutting off the tips of his fingers caused the strength of his Nen Bullets to be multiplied several times over, letting him expend only a small amount of Aura to maintain his ability, when a normal Emitter would be completely drained after just a few seconds.
Aint no way. Shal objectively isnt that strong even if using his control on himself which still has huge drawbacks. He has an extremely useful ability for sure but lots of the weaker members are objectively stronger and lots can still one shot him even in his super saiyan mode
@@wolimoli we don't know wtf he does in super saian mode. Only that he is ultra powerfull. He can manipulate anybody even nen users. Idk how he is 12th. I would put him on 5

I’m a classroom teacher I’m trying to do some ranking similar to you but using animals. Is there a way you can share the platform you used to do this ranking so I can effectively implement it for my own use?
We have absolutely no clue how strong everyone is. Most of the members didn't have a serious fight so far and the ones that did, had an unlucky situation of match up.
Great format! What would also be interesting to me, although knowing it can't be known from the numbers, is the method with which everyone allotted every member. If I remember correctly, I think I went from top to bottom basically comparing all to see which ones I liked best, and repeating the process for every rank. Maybe someone started from their most disliked, or something like that?
lol, with all the calculations and explanations, this is the kind of video i would imagine that Togashi would make himself if he was a HXHyoutuber as opposed to the creator...props to you, man

On your other video about Feitan being the brother Kalluto is looking for, a small detail that I just notice, his paper cutout is also in the center of the troup as well as the one that Kalluto is looking at in the scene, seemingly very important.
Love this type of video. Top 3 will never change in the phantom troupe, unless the other spiders do something absolutely insane. Feitan, hisoka, and chrollo will always be top 3 cuz they are the most badass and intereating, in my opinion. Yea we dont know alot about feitan but that's part of his appeal. Also who the hell voted Kortopi as their favorite 😭🤣
@@shadowfoxx4 debatable, but the first place is usually obvious with these lists. I'd still be interested to see how the other members rank, i feel like thats the point of these ranking videos
An interesting survey question could be added to this one where after ranking the troupe members, "are you caught up on the manga or have you only seen the anime?" This is because Franklin surprised me at the 14th spot where he gets some more involvement, still brief, aboard the ship on the hunt for Hisoka
there's a game i like to play sometimes, it's call explain the hatsu, if i take knuckles as exemple: his main category is emiter, he transfert his aura as a loan(emiter 100%) then it summon potclin(conjuror 40%, but with some condition), and he figth as an enhencer(80%) that's not that hard and you can find this on fandom wikia for any character, but the next level is when you take an non-HxH character explain Deku hatsu or Deidara hatsu or Goku Hatsu
The thing I loved about the Phantom Troupe was that it had a real mix of members. You had the nutjobs like Hisoka (though calling him a member is questionable since he didn't really do anything for them as he just wanted to fight Chrollo), the happy murder crew like Franklin or Uvogin, the detached oddballs like Shizuku, and the people who were honorable in their own way like Nobunaga or Pakunoda. Franklin being last place I am totally on board with but Pakunoda and Nobunaga being so mid-teir hurts me. They actually were the people who somewhat redeemed the troupe (or at least humanized them) since they didn't really want to kill Gon and Killua because it would put Chrollo at risk and even when they caught them the first time they were not cruel, just tough. Nobunaga even wanted to recruit them since he saw their potential!
@@cryingsoul226 I agree, but he meant that NWR even mentions it around 11:58 that hisoka actually got first place in terms of votes which is really weird imo.
@@TimeLe Thank you for clarifying and i actually dont even freaking know how no one mentioned it. I think he should reupload this video after editing it correctly cause this's clearly cheating. He just came out of nowhere and decided to change the rules to his own liking? im def unsubscribing if he's gonna keep it this way, since no other videos have he included the 'ratio''/ average type rating. It's always been the amount of votes not the ''haters'' counted because who in the fk thinks it's okay to put hisoka, chrollo, feitan in last place? Again im just pointing out the obvious which everyone failed to acknowledge.
Pakunoda is a wasted potential, why using gun to emit memories when you have more efficient item to use (i.e. cellphone)? That's why she ranked low, her hatsu is stupid.
I'm not gonna lie, and this is absolutely a hot take: NEVER understood the popularity behind Feitan. He does absolutely nothing for me personally. I guess his Nen ability is pretty cool but that's about it imo.
I was disappointed with how weak his *Battle Cantible* was, as the conditions for activating his Hatsu are insane, requiring a lifetime of devotion and self mutilation, then being proficient in a unique dance style.
Future vid idea: not sure if it'd be something on the cards but perhaps guessing/coming up with what other abilities characters we have seen (be they dead or alive) may have/had. They don't have to be combat involved nen abilities but could really shine a light on the capability of some either lesser known or more popular characters and what they, if they were to apply themselves, could achieve and use to their advantage.
A bit surprising to see Uvogin and Pakunoda so low while they played such a huge role in the yorknew arc and both got a lot of screentime. Maybe people rated they lower because both are dead?
You should of shown an end tally similar to the channel Grand Line Review who focuses on One Piece content, he does similar polls but at the very end he puts a recap showing all of the rankings completed

I think Phinks gained much of his popularity in the ant arc when he says he doesn't do favors, and if the ant who wants to die wants to die, He's gotta fight him for that honor.
This is true but Feitan could have a Death Contingency worked into his Nen Ability, which could take out hundreds of people with him. I have no doubt that Illumi could kill him though, as Hisoka isn't even remotely interested in Feitan.
Well it's obvious Illumi is stronger than Feitan but this list is off favorites not strength. I guess Feitan is more popular because he's edgy or something.

And second is because I just personally don’t like Chrollo that much, his design and powers are cool, and I think he is certainly interesting sometimes, but that’s really all he is, I think. Not much is done with the small insights we get into him, but I get his appeal.

"This is why rank choice voting is so important"
Meanwhile, in presidential elections:
@@douglascramer1501
I mean, America has something even worst than first past the post voting: The Electoral College.
@@douglascramer1501
The existence of the House and Senate is important, yes.

Great format! What would also be interesting to me, although knowing it can't be known from the numbers, is the method with which everyone allotted every member. The thing I loved about the Phantom Troupe was that it had a real mix of members. @@adRHCP Chrollo has the potential to use any of the Troop Members abilities, minus the Enhancers, as they don't actually have Nen Abilities, so he should automatically be *#1.* Add to that, he can hunt specific abilities for specific jobs, making him the most useful member.
@@douglascramer1501 chrollo is more than his hatsu, just as every other member
@@adRHCP As a person who would not place Chrollo in my first 3 (My top 3 in order is Hisoka, Uvo and Paku ), I can say it’s for two reasons. First is that while yes, he is a big focus on the arc, Paku and Uvo also play huge roles, almost as big, and I just happened to like them more than Chrollo, and well, Hisoka is a major player throughout most of the arcs. And second is because I just personally don’t like Chrollo that much, his design and powers are cool, and I think he is certainly interesting sometimes, but that’s really all he is, I think. Not much is done with the small insights we get into him, but I get his appeal. Also, I think it’s pretty cool how a main antagonist in a Shonen also has the classic Shonen value of teamwork, camaraderie, and friendship, but then again, Uvo and Paku do as well, and I find them to be better characters all around
We need more of these types of videos, please
Suggestion: ranking the Akatsuki
Franklin is definitely higher up for me just for his scene in the Succession arc. Anime wise he is definitely boring.
Man I need to see him and hisoka fight
@@minatodroger7890 That would actually be a tough fight, at mid to long range, but Franklin will lose quickly at Close Range, as Bungee Gum is too difficult to deal with in hand to hand combat. Not even Chrollo would chance getting too close to Hisoka.
Hisoka is also accustomed to 3 Dimensional Fighting, so he will attack from every direction and from the air. However, if Franklin fought him in an open area, then he would have a significant advantage.
Wow, that was a fantastic way to show how ranked choice voting works.
Chrollo no.1 from me
I am happy that my voice as a dude in a room was heard
9th and 10th were simp votes, moreso 9th because Paku actually has vharacter development as said in the video. Shizuku is just "duhhh nerd girl is cute and we see her fight in underwear, weewee says vote for her!"
lmao cry
Shizuku is one of the funniest members though
Correct, that is me 😎
Kurapika is now drowning in an indescribable emptiness.
