I find the lack of EVF to be a problem. I know a lot of camcorders don't have them, but they're so useful! Also, you can attach the XLR adapter to the AX33, and that's a great option not available on the Panasonic.

Sony and this camera are much the same. Like was said though, sony has better image stability. But if on a tripod, like your shots should be, the one turns OFF any stability unit.

+John Roberts I ask myself the same question every day! I do not think there is a clear cut answer, it depends on what you intend to use them for. For example, I use a camcorder for live events and anything I need good quality results where I can work fast and leave the camera on auto, apart from manual shutter speed settings. If however I am doing interviews and have time to set the shot up, manual focus etc, I will use the G7 or the GH4. They both produce great results but the GH4 has an headphone jack, vital for monitoring quality audio. I cannot comment on the A6300 as I have not used one, yet!

@@CaseyFallen A theatrical look can mean two things. First is a 'filmic' quality. 25fps is best for this. If you can do 25fps P, even better. P means progressive. In other words a still shot once every 1/25 of a second. Its close to the 24 fps used in the cinema. I (or i) means interlaced. In otherwords although you shoot in 25fps you will show a smoother image as each frame interlaces, or blends with the next.
@@CaseyFallen Second it could mean a literal dark theatre recorded look. Associated with a grainy image of old fashioned stills cameras or a cheaper 16mm film cine camera of yesteryear.
I just bought this cam but now I want to learn how to take the audio from my film on the computer (iMovie, etc) and put it in Logic Pro, edit the music and add it back to the film. -Thanks
If you use IOS , purchase luma fusion video editing app as its great for editing and 48khz WAV files can be exported for post processing for any edited video
@@hanglooserecluse I was successful doing it in iMovie. I listened to it after I sent it back out to my movie file and it was perfect. The problem that I notice after the fact was as soon as I post that same remixed video in UA-cam it lost everything I added.

Hello, thank you for this nice manual! Could you please tell me how to remove the "HDR" mode icon from the screen if it is possible? A friend of mine has received this camera for charity work and while filming the sign "HDR" displays on the vidéo and is misleading because people can think this is a logo or something else. Please help. Thank you in advance

I ordered it but don’t have it yet, for the type of content I do I want to be able to get the highest quality possible, I’m ok with 4k or 1080p but I want to be able to have 60fps at all times, video lag doesn’t do me well with the content I create… thanks for the reply.

If trying to get a theatrical look on this lesser quality camera, what would you recommend the settings to be for Aperture, shutter speed etc...
25fps. Small aperture. High gain.

I no longer have this camcorder but the HDR mode stands for 'high dynamic range' so check the menu to see if this is turned on.
