i travel a lot for work and for about 3 months i stayed in a bed & breakfast at a lovely lady's home, i cannot stress how amazing the coffee & tea station was. The endless amount of flavours and little chalkboard signs she had for jams and treats was so inviting. Its definitely something I want to have in my own house one day. She also provided robes and moisturisers & would leave the heater on and turn on fairy lights just before I got home from work (lived in minus degree weather) so these little things made such a big difference. I preferred it so much more to any hotel.

I believe you and your husband would make the best bed and breakfast owners! With him being an amazing cook, and you being a welcoming and refreshing decorator, your guests would truly feel comfortable and loved. Something to think about ❤️
A most friendly tip for those trying the baking soda carpet freshener: consider a mask and/or opening windows and getting plenty of ventilation while vacuuming it up. It is sodium after all and is known to cause significant blood pressure spikes when inhaled- the vacuum kicks it up into the air. I'm healthy and without hypertension and even I have experienced a pounding heart when vacuuming baking soda. I've had numerous others tell me the same. However, it really does an excellent job of freshening your rugs and carpets! For rugs you can at least take them outdoors to minimize your exposure. Today I'm doing my annual guest prep checklist video.. I love making videos on different ways to treat guests. I know it's not realistic for everyone to do all of this. The holidays can definitely be nuts and I totally get that.. For me it's a bit different every year based on my schedule and what's happening, but I always try to do a little something. Here's a compilation of some of my favorite ideas. I hope one or two of these tips can give you an idea or two for treating your guest a little extra special this holiday season.
I decorated early this year because of all the inspiration you have gifted us! Our little cottage is very bright and white-- this year, we filled it with succulents, garland, and it feels so fresh and clean! Thanks for showing us such beautiful tips for the holidays!

Hey Rachel, one thing I like to include in my guest room prep is a bottle of water on each night stand. I find that guests will often come roaming into the kitchen once they are settled looking for a glass of water to take medications with. Plus, no one seems to drink enough when traveling. I have also put them on a tray on the bathroom counter.
I would love to see a detailed cleaning video, maybe where you detail window tracks or polish your copper utensil holder? I don't know why but I swear its like asmr to watch cleaning videos
