I just got a Razor A5 Lux today (8" wheels, not the tiny rubbish that trips over everything). I'm trying to learn to 'carve' it, (where you straight leggedly steer the scooter and swing out, then straighten up - letting your legs bend under you, and repeat on the other side picking up speed) but I haven't been able to manage it yet, so sticking to kicking for now..
Don't forget it's easier to fit them in a car than a bike if you're driving a long way to a city but don't want to drive around the city, and stop whenever you want, but want something quicker than walking and more efficient than running
I don't do any 'jump and spin' tricks on mine, but was trying to learn a 'kickless' propulsion method for fun and to see if I could get faster than kicking alone. The longboarders have mastered such a thing! So far I'm not very efficient at it and can't maintain speed that well with it.
And it's cheaper than a bike, and I already have a bike, but would not want to waste time taking it apart to fit in my micra or put the bike rack on and off all the time. A bike goes faster - almost as fast as cars in town until a hill - a folding bike would also be very good but expensive
