I think mma fighters have answered the call stepping into the sweet science, when is a boxer gonna step up to the apex of combat sports and deal with elbows, knees, takedowns and submissions. We have seen boxers last no time in the cage back in the early days. Flatline. On the street there is no below the belt.
The way all these belt swaps occur you can tell their orchestrated imho. I wish it was just next man up stat wise. When a guy wins his next opponent should automatically be the #1 ranked in the division and the losers the #2, and so on. At least in the top 5.

Izzy isn't my favorite fighter by a mile. But I have a deep respect for him. The dude has real dog in him. You seen it with the Gastelam fight or the way he not just took on Jan....but the Jan LOSS itself & how he handled himself was refreshing. Admitting out loud that this is his "last shot" at Alex when, most would try to play the media game of leaving the door open etc. Nope he has accepted this fight will be everything. Can't help but like the guy or at least respect him

I like to see izzy use that light touch training, it's very similar to the last fight where Alex was right in front of him while they were both making high risk quick powerful potshots like izzy was mimicking hitting those lights.
