    I've just stumbled across this channel, and speaking as someone who has almost always used a manual brush, I have to say that this is one of the best informational channels I've ever seen. Educated, concise, and digestible delivery of relevant information, transparent and helpful. Thank you so much for this resource, and know that you are doing a wonderful service. I only wish that more channels were as helpful and educated as you are!

      @@ElectricTeeth Absolutely well deserved, if anything I understated it. I have never seen anyone cut immediately to the chase with the most pertinent information in this sort of video, and then on top of that follow it up with so much more useful information on top of that. You've repeatedly demonstrated a basic, human respect for the viewers time, and I cannot tell you how much such courtesy is appreciated, particularly given how rare it is in this genre. On top of that, the fact that you also put the time in to make written articles, with expanded information, and detailed accurate timestamps-you have truly gone above and beyond in providing this free service. I cannot express my gratitude enough that people such as yourselves have put so much effort into helping people navigate something which is oft confusing, and that could be beneficial to the general public's long term health.

    I would not recommend buying oral B IO because of the dirt that accumulates on the handle tip and most importantly inside the head itself. I was completely aware of this issue before buying this toothbrush and was cleaning and disconnecting the head each time. It doesn’t help!!!!!!

    Great video! As a long time Sonicare user, I finally decided to give Oral B IO 9 a shot. I think my teeth feel slightly more clean with the Oral B, but daily life with the brush is challenging.
    I’ve found maintenance to be much easier on Sonicare than Oral B IO as the IO series accumulates grime around the head and connection points.

      Same but I bought the Oral B IO5 Instead on sale, just shifted from the Phillips Sonicare 6100 because it broke after 6 month, and my old 4500 model broke after 13 month. But it had 24 month warranty, Phillips wanted to repair but I said i can't sell a used one easily and they don't recommend selling repaired items so they sent me a new one i sold. And I love the Oral B IO5 with the app.

    The Aquasonic Icon is the best toothbrush I've ever used (using it now). Usually only $19.95, it has two cleaning modes (clean and whiten), it's rechargeable, and uses micro-vibrations to clean. Don't be fooled, the "micro-vibrations" are really "sonic-like." Buzzes after each quadrant (30 seconds), and shuts off after 2 minutes. Includes a magnet to hang it to something. Comes in about 7 colors, and has a satin feel. Great!

    I’m confused on models, I can get an oral 2500x for $75 au. It looks more like the 3000. Where does this fall in the lineup? I had the diamond clean which broke after 2 years due seal failing. I have replaced it with the 9900 but that has already broken after 4 months. I need something while I wait for warranty. Thanks for your help.

    Can you review the eco sonic offerings from Georganics and Ordo, compared to SURI? I want to know if you think they compare equally or less well to the best (non eco) sonic tootbrushes you recommend. Great videos - thanks for helping me research my purchase!

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  4 місяці тому

      Are Ordo touting eco credentials with their products? Perhaps I have missed something, but I didn't think they are suggesting such.
      I've not used Georganics brush yet, but it's all plastic and not designed to be repairable (from what I know) compared to the likes of SURI.
      From specs and images alone. SURI appears to be the winner on paper compared to Georganics.

    My dentist recommended against Oral B or other oscillating toothbrushes. She claims that both research and her own experience show they're less effective. Wondering if you can comment.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  7 місяців тому +5

      There is evidence for and against. It depends what studies are read. Many are funded by the toothbrush brands themselves. However, considering the independent research and review of independent studies, it is said that Oral-B is marginally better. Not necessarily clinically significant, but better.
      This is counter to what your dentist is saying. I am not here to defend either side, but just quote what evidence and research exists.
      My general view is that they are both more than good enough, when used correctly, and better than a manual brush. Although a manual brush is satisfactory, if used correctly.
      These researchers that have suggested Oral-B has the slight edge, have also highlighted the need for more research into the topic.
      We cover this in a bit more detail here - www.electricteeth.com/sonicare-vs-oral-b/#best-technology

      My long-term (10 years) experience is that Sonicare doesn't clean as well, especially behind my front teeth. The Oral B is able to break up the plaque there whereas the Philips can't.

    Qué diferencia hay entre los oral b pro y los IO??

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  2 місяці тому +1

      Hay muchos modelos diferentes en la gama Pro e iO, por lo que depende de lo que estés comparando.
      Las principales diferencias son:
      Motor diferente en el modelo iO a Pro.
      iO es más silencioso.
      iO es más suave/menos duro con los dientes
      El sensor de presión muestra tanto la presión correcta como la incorrecta.
      Diferente (cabezal de cepillo más caro).
      There are lots of different models in the Pro and the iO range so it depends on what you are comparing.
      Main differences are:
      Different motor in iO to Pro model.
      iO is quieter.
      iO is more gentle/less harsh on the teeth
      The pressure sensor shows the correct pressure as well as incorrect
      Different (more expensive brush head).

    I’ve had a Phillips Sonicare for around 4 years now and have been happy & satisfied with it for the most part. Very recently, however, the brush head’s become loose on the toothbrush due to the metal tip it’s placed upon being wobbly and unstable. This makes the toothbrush incredibly loud when brushing teeth and it also doesn’t allow you to push the brush against your teeth without the brush head moving back. I’m thinking of buying another toothbrush but wanna focus on one that’s going to be more durable (as I’ve seen this is a common issue) and one that’s likely to last me longer as well as being great at cleaning the teeth ofc. Do you have any recommendations on this?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  9 місяців тому +2

      Thanks for the feedback on your experience.
      I have seen this issue mentioned a few times more recently.
      Unfortunately I can't give any recommendations of guaranteed reliability.
      SURI is a new brand with comparable performance to Sonicare that have designed their toothbrush to be repairable. Albeit it must go back to them to be repaired. So potentially this is an option. But, if doesn't ensure reliability, just the ability to repair which Philips can't offer past 2 years usually.

    With at what point do the vibrations increase from 30k to 60k in the Sonicare families?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  10 місяців тому

      It varies from model to model/country to country, but as a general rule, the 1000, 2000, 3000, & 4000 Series don't have the same power (less movements) than the more premium ProtectiveClean, ExpertClean, DiamondClean & Prestige range of brushes.
      Do be aware, 31,000 strokes = 62,000 movements.

    • @RyanF91W
      @RyanF91W 10 місяців тому +1

      @@ElectricTeeth thank you. The SURI is advertised as having 33k vibrations per minute. Is this the same as the budget sonicare? Would the 4000 series feel more powerful than the SURI?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  10 місяців тому

      I would say they feel comparable from my hands-on testing.
      My understanding is that vibrations are essentially the same as movements (but I might be wrong). As far as I know there are multiple things that can be tuned in the brush motor to make it feel more or less powerful.
      SURI certainly doesn't feel as powerful as the most premium Sonicare brushes, but cleaning power isn't necessarily the most important thing, your brushing time, technique and frequency play a really big part too.

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  5 місяців тому +1

      I'd suggest looking at the Oclean X Pro Elite. It has smart features, but you don't have to use them. It is one of the quietest toothbrushes on the market. The main downside is you don't have a pressure sensor. ua-cam.com/video/bYaWKB543-M/v-deo.html

      @@ElectricTeeth Looks promising. How to the teeth cleaning performance stack up to the oral-b? Are the brushes as good as the cross-action?

    • @ElectricTeeth
      @ElectricTeeth  5 місяців тому +1

      They are comparable. I do feel the Oral-B handle and CrossAction heads give a deeper clean feeling. Based on the clinical testing that exists, the Oral-B is likely marginally better for your oral health long term. But, more study is needed and the differences are minimal all things considered.
      Basically, use it correctly and it will do a great job. Not worth worrying too much about how it cleans compared to others.
