I am sure the line "Ze kwam neer op het juiste moment" should be "Ze kwam niet op het juiste moment", meaning the opposite, she didn't come at just the right moment, and still she makes all the difference in your life.
Yess you are right. I sended this song. But this was the only one with english lyrics. I knew that that sentence was wrong. But it was the best i could find😂

It starts with "come sit with me, wrap your arm around me, and hold me tightly" and thus sets the tone for the rest of the song. Awesome one to listen to as well!

Hey I am amazed by your video. We Dutch don't expect anyone to be interested in our culture. The difficult thing to understand about this song is that all the things he is saying that the woman is not, it is not actually about the woman. He is critical of all the failed attempts by other singers to express her essence in a poetic comparison. Her value can not be expressed through comparison with something else. Her value is that she makes a flat world 3 dimensional. The depth that can cause you to fall or fly. The difference between being in control, and enjoying the miracle of life. Her value is in the difference between all that already existed around him, and how that has now come to life.
This is absolutely one of my most favorite Dutch songs. Everything about it is beautiful. The lyrics, the melody and the temporary collaboration of two popular Dutch bands. They purposefully gave a stupid name to the band. One of them was watching a documentary about puma’s, and then he came up with the idea of the worst possible name for the band: De Poema’s. Everybody loved this. Since it was a very temporary collaboration they only made one cd, which they also jokingly named: the best of De Poema’s.
@@Treinbouwerdaarnet heb ik even op een site voor Nederlands Engels het woord samenwerking opgezocht, en daar kwam cooperation uit. Maar via Engels Nederlands kwam er bij het woord collaboration toch ook het woord samenwerking uit. Het kan dus allebei, maar cooperation klinkt inderdaad wel beter.

I see that Learning Dutch by Songs includes a couple of songs by Boudewijn de Groot, who has been a national treasure here since the 1960s. You should check out 'Avond'. My own favourites are 'De Vondeling van Ameland' and 'Het Land van Maas en Waal', but I haven't seen any versions of these with English subtitles. I used to work on my Dutch by listening to songs by Brigitte Kaandorp, still the funniest woman in the world.
