@@CloseToTheEdge-Prog A highly theatrical show, it was also one of the few times Gabriel "flew" at the conclusion of "Supper's Ready"..........opening w/"Watcher" the set list included the bulk of "Selling England", "Musical Box", Salmascis", "Hogweed"..........to this day, one of the top 5 shows I've ever seen.....look forward to your next choice!
Definitely one of the best Genesis albums, only matched by Foxtrot and The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. A superb three album run. I’d probably take Selling England by the Pound as my favourite if I was pushed and yes it is one of the greatest prog albums, indeed albums full stop. Good video.
Hi Peter. That’s an interesting comment and one I might be with you on. Suppers Ready is just so amazing but there are other strong songs on there including the greatest prog opener in WOTS. Thanks. Dave
Hi Pat. Good video. If it’s not the greatest it’s pretty close. I just don’t like More Fool Me as it doesn’t fit in with the rest of the album. Take care. Dave
After The Ordeal, Genesis or Villa by Rush ? If you play The Strawbs Album. 1972 Grave New World and Genesis song 1973 The Battle of Epping Forrest..do you have to play Genesis 1974 The Lamb ?
I would have liked to hear Pater Gabriel sing the Phil Collins number on Genesis Selling England by the Pound. After The Ordeal is the stand out number on Selling England for..me.. ( it is up there with the instrumentsls on The Lamb, Foreigner Tramontane, Rush ). Everyone stops throwing things at each other with Firth of Fifth is played live..you can hear a pin drop !
Saw and heard them at the Academy of Music in N.Y. on the tour for this album in April of '74......left an impression that lasted a lifetime
Amazing, imagine that's 50 years ago, I'm so jealous of you that you saw them in their pomp. Thanks for the comment.

Fantastic video Pat. Yes it would one of the greatest.
@@Gary-q5k Thanks Gary.
I agree, this is the best prog album. Just mention that "After the Ordeal"s just magnificent.

I just came across your channel and it's interesting. I love Genesis and this is an amazing album.
Thanks so much, Peter.
Love it, it's a great album, but for me Foxtrot is their best

A fantastic album. Is that a Japanese pressing of it that you have?
Yes, it is Stephen.
