Also a good way to tell them apart, salsa usually has more of a traditional sound with bongos and pianos, whereas bachata music seems to be more "R&B" slow romantic music, a lot more guitar influence. (So you dont cross up your moves when they switch songs 😂)
I went to a ballroom dance class a few years ago through a local ballroom dance club, had two hour lessons for $10 twice a month, I think it was. Bachata was the first dance I learned. It is so easy and fun!
Thank you for showing me what a good salsa looks like 😂. I have my first high school musical coming up where I have to salsa, but I have never danced before. This video helped me see how to not be so stiff when I do it, thanks! 🙌🏻
If the club is mostly Dominican it’s usually Bachata and Merengue. If it’s Puerto Rican usually salsa with some Bachata. Most night club salsa places will play all three. If it’s a dance social they will usually tell you if it’s bachata or salsa but there are much more dance socials (in a dance studio) playing salsa than Bachata, at least in NYC. Learn the basic step with a turn or two of all three and you’ll be fine. They aren’t hard unless you get into complicated moves.
I’m a dude who’s college who wants to simply learn the basics so I don’t look like a stick figure on the dance floor 😂 which do you think is better for me?

Can you teach the salsa rotation which cannot understand ❤
Do you mean a salsa turn?
Do you know which one is better for night club dance?
Both are great :)

I would start with bachata, then if you stick with it maybe salsa later :)
so bachata is the boring version of salsa
Definitely not boring! Just different :)
Bachata is slower and holds your dance partner closer so it depends on if you're full of energy or full of horny.
Thank you for teaching us these beautiful dances, even though I'm not a good dancer, you are a wonderful couple. I'm sorry for my broken language.🤍
Thank you so much! You’re English is great! And I’m sure you’re a better dancer than you think 😊
