Alex Hutchings is back with more Jazzy Jams! This package which continues on from where Jazzy Jams 1 left off, also features 3 classic jam tracks based on chord progressions from the long history of jazz. Alex takes influence from the jazz/bebop scene and twists it around into a fun fusion/funk style. If you've ever wanted to dip your toe into the world of jazz harmony but have maybe found your way here from a Rock or Blues background, or you would like to find some fresh new tracks to practise your bebop licks, then this may just be the PERFECT pack for you!
Each jam track comes with one of Alex's stunning solos, blending classic jazz and bebop lines with a more modern fusion sound.
For those that are wondering (and because we get asked a lot) Alex tunes his guitar in straight fourths. This allows for more symmetry in the chord/scale shapes and lends itself better to visualising your way around the neck when improvising and composing. Because of this, Alex's strings are tuned to EADGCF but don't fret (pun intended), we have also included the solos/lines transposed into standard EADGBE tuning as well.
As ever, we have accurately transcribed every note and included the TAB/notation in the download, full backing tracks, audio solos and track notes.

@amziadi ... You can play a Em7 arpeggio over the chord and this means you are hinting at the 9th of the Cmaj7 chord which gives colour. You want to learn all this stuff till you can forget it and then you create melodies and do it naturally. Listen to jazz, transcribe bits of solos, that is a great way to learn how to play, you can't learn how to play Jazz from a book. Hope this has helped :)
@amziadi Land on Guide tones (the 3rd and 7th of the chord) and play phrases around those notes if you are playing round a standard. If its Smooth Jazz take a tune like Miles Davis So what, you hang on Dm7 for 16 bars Ebm7 for 8 and then Dm7 for 8. So you tend to think Modaly, so Dorian, you can play bluesy/pentatonic ideas. Most important think is it sounds melodic and you are not just playing scales. Also super imposing is a nice way of giving color to a chord e.g if you have a Cmaj7....
oooouu yes very good, teacher...rsss...
