Anne, I am grateful that you shared story! It meant a lot to me because I have a spinal cord injury from an accident and it has been a drastic change. When was still in the hospital after my surgery, a nurse felt sorry for me. It was during Covid and the hospital didn’t allow visitors. She brought knitting needles and it was life changing. I love your podcast and look forward to every one. Countless blessings to you, Eileen
Thank you! I am so happy to hear that you also have "found" knitting. It really is theraphy. I am so grateful that you are watching. Hope you have a blessed March!
Hi Anne, never feel that your not a worker, you are a mother and housewife, two of the most important jobs, I agree with you that the need the company of other people, but your not alone in that, I’m in my late 70’s and don’t see many people most days, just me and my husband, so your not alone, I look forward to your podcast because your so relaxed and have a have a gentle voice which we all enjoy, so do belittle yourself, you have all of us with you, sending blessings from Scotland
Thanks so much for sharing your story. You are beautiful, you are worthy and creative. You are alive and have a beautiful family. And you have us in your knitting community. 🩵
Thank you for sharing your story with us. Sadly some people think a person's value is connected to a job that brings in money. You do have a job: you are looking after your family and that is the most important job of all! I don't have knitting friends where I live; you and the other knitting podcasters I watch have provided me with inspiration, friendship, and a sense of community. You are very special.
Anne, what a beautiful story your life tells. From adversity something very special has come about, and we're glad to be a part of it in some small way. You are a brilliant knitter and warm presence here, and that is important. Thank you!
Anne, thank you so much for sharing. We have struggles in life, we are human and you are showing that it’s not impossible to stay above the struggles and continue to grow and accept limitations as well, this is a very important part of life. I am getting older, and I appreciate that I have had the opportunity to become old. The best thing is to know that God is there with us through each struggle and He has a purpose. Your sharing your struggle today is going to encourage a lot of other people who are also struggling. You are showing us that it can be done and that we don’t have to give up and or be afraid or just wait to die. Knitting has become my full time job since retiring and I knit probably 8 or more hours each day, I knit mostly for family and some things for myself, mostly just socks for myself. But what I am saying is, I would just be lost if I did not have my knitting. And I am hearing you say basically the same thing. Knitting is important and something we can give to others, we are still productive we still have a purpose in life.
Thank you so much for spending some of your time with me and for taking the time to write! It really means so much! Yes, God is always with us through it all. I have really experienced that. And you know, I thank God for my knitting. It gives me so much joy and purpose in my day. Without my knitting I would be lost like you say. I wish you blessed days ahead and may your days be filled with lots of happy knitting! Thank you again!
Help Anne from Melbourne , Australia.I loved hearing your journey through life👌🙏.We all travel on different roads yet can still connect through our love of knitting and craft.Your gentle, wise and connected soul shines through. It is always a pleasure to spend time with you.Go well this week and thank you for teaching me new things..🙏👋❤️🐨🌏xx
Anne, thank you for another video. In my opinion, you’ve done the most difficult and most important job in the world. You have been a mother to your children and you created a loving home for your children and your husband. That is not an easy task. Still I understand you need to have something outside of the home. I’m glad you found this space on the Internet and it gives you that outlet. Thanks again.
Thank you so much! Beeing a mom is the most rewarding job of all! But so wonderful to have this place on youtube to talk to other knitters when my kids don't need me as much as they used too. I am so grateful to you and everyone who spends some of there time "together" with me.
Anne, thank you for sharing your story. You should rightly be proud of all that you've achieved -- creating this channel, growing your viewership, podcasting in a foreign language, growing your knitting muscles, etc. Please don't feel that you're less worthy just because you don't have an outside job.
Dear Anne. Thank you for sharing your knitting story with us. It was fascinating to hear how you have come through some very challenging years and how different crafts played a role in your life. You are right about how we let our ‘work occupation’ define us. When I retired from my working career, I struggled with that issue. Now I am content to have time to knit and make choices about my days. Thank you for stepping out to create your knitting podcast. I enjoy each episode. You are an amazing knitter! Knit on my friend ❤
Thank you so much. I am so grateful to be able to knit and to share the joy of the craft here on my channel. Hope you have a good week and lots of wonderful knitting moments❤️
Thank you for sharing your story! I very much relate to much of what you said about no longer being the the world of ‘work’ & the journey of coming to realise the meaning, connection, value and purpose in the creative arts of yarn based crafting & podcasting. I also love how you used the word “colleagues” in this crafty realm- I am going to try to remember this to use it myself!😃 xx
Thank you so much for spending some of your time with me! I do love to think about fellow knitting podcasters like yourself as "colleagues". ☺️ I am so thankfull for my knitting and the community it has given me. Hope you have a wonderful week🧶
I sat and knitted on my socks while watching this and it was almost like sitting together for chat. Isn’t it wonderful to have knitting to bring us together- you in Norway and me in Alaska! You inspire me with every episode. Keep sharing your story, knitting, and family life with us. Take care xxxRichalyn ❤
Thank you for this episode. I also feel like this knitting community are my friends from around the world. I get some of the greatest ideas from what others are knitting. It is also great because I can’t watch when I have the time and I usually sit and knit during them.
Anne, thank you for sharing about how you came to knitting and what it means to you to be able to create in this way. I really appreciated hearing your story.
Creativity is a blessing to me as well. Me myself am a housewife as well and I have big family with 5 children to worry about and cary for. And I have my christian faith that helps to get through so many worries in my way. Probably the half of the worries are just in my mind not reality :) but anyway.. Thanks for being so nice to share yourself here to us. I am so thankful I have you and many others to watch and be inspired to go on with my life over here. With sincere greetings from Latvia!
Thank you so much! I can relate to the worries. And yes, so many of our worries are in our mind. It is so good to have God who always is by our side and helps us through! We can lay our worries at His feet! Thank you for spending some of your time together with me! Hope you have a blessed week!!
I watched this video while cross stitching a table cloth, and really liked it! I can embroider and crochet, but I cannot knit, everything I ever knitted was a failure, so I am impressed by the people that can. The purple sweater you are making is very beautiful, and the yellow one you are wearing with the leaves is amazing! I also like a lot your accent, it is very pleasing to hear you while stitching! I just wanted to tell you that you indeed have a job, you are an artist and a youtuber, it's just that you work from home, like so many artists do. Being an artist is a real job, even if you struggle with it from time to time! So thank you for your story, I of course subscribed and will see more of your videos, and would really like to meet you if you ever come to Greece!
Thank you for your kind and encouraging words! It warms my heart!! I hope I get to chance to visit Greece again someday and it wonderful to meet you. My husband actually proposed to me in Greece! Hope you have a beautiful week!
Thank you for sharing your knitting journey with us! It was very kind of you to open yourself, and hopefully your story can make others see when you're in a hard place, creating can bring so much into your life! Best wishes and kind thoughts to you!
Thank you for sharing your knitting journey. I am so glad creativity, especially knitting, has been there for you ❤ I very much hope you can travel the world visiting knitting friends and that I may be lucky enough to have you stop in my corner of the world for coffee and knitting time together 🥰
Thank you for sharing 😊 I am so grateful that you started podcasting in English 🙂 I love seeing your episodes pop up and always grab my knitting as soon as possible so we can "catch up". I can relate very much to how you feel when people ask about your job and how it defines your place in society. I feel the same way. But.. in reality, it really, should not be our problem. We know our worth and someone else's opinion shouldn't alter it. We got this 🤗 (Said confidently but with knowledge I definitely need to work on this!) but I do believe it. We are not defined by our jobs and nor is our worth or place in society. You're a wonderful person Anne 🙂 and we're all here cheering you and your knitting creations on! And by the by.. your crochet is amazing! I love those festive cushions 🥰 your creative skills know no bounds 🙂
Thank you! You are such a wonderful person too! I am so happy knitting youtube introduced us☺️ I agree with you. It's not our problem. I just have to remind myself of that.. often😅 My husband thinks I should answer people who ask me what I work with that I am a youtuber🙈 Haha.. I don't think I would ever be comfortable with that. At the same time I love this podcasting thing so much😊
@@mynorthknitcorner me too 😊 Haha that's nearly the first thing my husband does when we meet someone. "My wife's a UA-camr!!" Then I'm looked at like I'm a celebrity until they realise I don't have 100k + subscribers haha he says it with such enthusiasm 😆
Anne, thank you for your lovely podcast. I wish you lots of good days with your knitting. 4 years ago I got inspired to knit with larger groups of people and I participated in sock madness. Such a lot of fun and learning so much every time. I am a slow knitter but persistent and never reach the finals. Doesn’t matter. There is so much fun in the teams from all over the world.
THanks so much for sharing so honestly the ups and downs in your life. I know by experience how precious our knitting and this amazing community can be in the hardest moment...it isn't just a hobby and can define and enrich our sense of self as much as a job does. I feel very lucky to have your virtual you in my life 🥰
Thank you, Daniela 🥰 I am so grateful for this knitting community and the joy it brings into my life. And so happy that I can connect with you and other knitters around the world🥰
Hi Anne, thank you for sharing your knitting journey and health issues with us. You are now a content creator on UA-cam and we appreciate what you do! I particularly enjoyed hearing about the woman who got you to buy the pattern, needles, yarn & pushed you to knit that hat. When you said you never thought you’d be able to read a pattern or knit anything that’s exactly where I am now! Thank you for being such an inspiration, I’m going to try that first pattern soon… 😺 Than you & Best wishes 🧶
Anne, thank you for sharing your story and knitting journey. I can easily relate to your experience dealing with sickness. Indeed knitting is very therapeutic and comforting. I look forward to hearing more about your knitting journey.
Hello! It's my first time posting a comment, but I've been a regular watcher of your podcast several months after your podcast was mentioned on Emily Kate Made This. I have a podcast too! I really enjoy your podcast because I find it relaxing and it's nice to hear about all your many projects, without it just being about latest fashion knitting. Anyhoo, I thought I'd pipe up and say hello since this was a special episode with you sharing a lot about your life. I hope that every day you continue to feel better 🌸🌸
Thank you so much! So encouraging to hear you enjoy my podcast. And hello! So wonderful to hear from a fellow podcaster. Look forward to watching your podcast😊 I hope you a beautiful week☀️🧶
Thanks for this episode, you expressed so well what our knitting brings to us. I enjoy my time knitting in your company and I hope you always have energy when you wake up in the morning! Thank you for sharing your story! I didn't realize that you and I have been knitting for about the same amount of time (I started in August 2018). I assumed you had been knitting for many years because the things you make are so polished. I can't wait to see where your journey takes you next!
Thank you so much! That's so fun that we started knitting around the same time. I rarely feel my knits are polished. So thank you for saying that. Looking forward to catching up with you in your next episode!!
