I'm very rarely surprised by a show/movie. I can usually guess the plot outcomes. This is one that kept me guessing. It was fun and had heart.
I'm an American, heterosexual who loves this show. My husband and I are watching for the 3rd time in two weeks. I don't know what Australian humor is, but it sure seemed very much like my Irish American family humor. The show is hysterical and we couldn't wait to see the end. The suspense was thrilling.
Brit here our Aussies cousins have a similar sense of humour so I absolutely loved probably the best series I’ve watched this year

It is so perfetc and I love the fact that was direct and written by a lesbian couple. Dulcie is soooooo charming, and it is deeply funny and the plot is catching. Hope they create a Second Season.

I loved it, there’s murder mystery drama, character depth to discover… it’s just kind of slow to get to the best parts, maybe by episode 3 it starts picking up but by the end you absolutely get it and love it and it’s characters.
Mate, it’s a comedy. Created by two of the best Aussie comedians: the Kates. Might want to add that to your review.
Yeah, just a smidge of an important fact. Miiiight not be for you if you don't like Australian comedy. 😅 But if you do, it's a brilliant show. 10/10.
I finished it and loved it! I did not expect your review at all, I thought everybody would love it LOL! Yes, Cath and Eddie are a LOT, but they do have great character delevopment, so does everybody, really. A+ show for me! I wasn't familiar with Aussie humor, but appearantly I enjoy it, haha!

My opinion was episode 4 is where the show turned a corner. I only have one episode remaining and I'm bummed to see it end. Really ended up loving the show and I hope they get a 2nd season. Did you keep watching? What did you think?
I was unsure about this show when I first started watching but have actually found it quite funny and a good mystery the more I watched. As a brit I enjoyed the aussie humour

I'm curious about your review of the show now that you have ptobably (I hope !) watch it all.. Eddie was unsufferable till episode 3, after that it's way better.. it's hilarious and so enjoyable, loved it !! the surprise show of the year for me
it is hilarious!!! aside from being not austrailian or gay myself, I loved this. Google won't type q.u.e.e.r.
Loved the show, it really did well with the character development. The first episode was a bit slow and it definitely took a bit of time to digest and accept Darwin, she’s so unbearable through most of the show. But the mystery was incredible, kept me guessing till the end. The Nordic noir cinematic vibes with some really goofy bits made it an interesting watch, definitely recommend it to others - especially if you can be patient with Eddy.

What is Australian humour? Do you mean that you felt like certain parts of the show were making fun of Australian people, or poking fun at stereotypes of Australians?

"Australiania" TV shows have always suffered from a bad case of 'dumbing down' and an inane belief in the Australian film and television industry that people will only accept Aussie shows if they feature the outback and beer swillin' Ockers so it doesn't suprise me that they would do the same with murder mystery built on a gay premise.
I kind of like Dulcie and her two deputies, but EVERYBODY else is just terrible. It was to the point where I was wishing she would just pull out her gun and pistol whip whomever she was talking to. She's investigating this super serious crime, and everybody else is living in this other world where that isn't happening and can't seem to focus on anything for more than two seconds.
I quite like it except for the detective from Darwin; she is just crass and over the top, awful! The rest of the cast are great.
My take on the 1st episode - totally turn off after the dead beat detective showed up. Somebody please fire the writers.
Ok, I only know a bit about Australian humor. What kind of humor is it? Like not taking anything seriously, lots of crude/gross jokes, and everything is a punch line? I've only seen the trailer for the show.
we’re a very dry humour country so it’s very likely it’s just taking the piss out of everything 😂, personally i’m a fan of aussie humour so i loved this show but it is an acquired taste so if you’re looking for seriousness, your not really going to get it in this show 😅
@@wiseoldoaktree Ah I understand, most Aussie humor I know is more of a mix. Where there are some moments of taking the piss and others are more serious. I do think no serious moments would drive me crazy though.
I watched this and its awesome about time Australia bought a great show out funny as very ozzie ❤
