I have learned that people pleasing is a form of control and manipulation. Those of us with the problem are trying to change our behavior to elicit the response we desire from other people. I never realized this and it has really changed my perspective on the problem.

I had to pause this video to come brought this comment. I have struggled so long with people pleasing and being worried about what people think of me because I do not love myself I come from a very traumatic childhood that I’m still working over come all while trying to prevent my children from having trauma but this message released something inside of me and for the first time in my life, I feel like I can be me and I don’t have to worry because God loves me and forgives me thank you

The last 5 years I have been really going through it. I'm learning to be more authentic. Less people pleasing. More Jesus pleasing. I really want to help people but I've found I need to heal 1st. Thanks for the video
I am learning to be more authentic , I was afraid to be completely authentic before and not because I have anything to hide, it was that I was new to the area where I had moved to and had not made many friends and I was afraid I would lose the couple friends I had made, and my fears were founded because as soon as my authentic self began talking about the Bible and my love for Christ , both friends disappeared or suddenly became to busy for my company. Authenticity comes with a Price. Makes me wonder how many friendships are based on lies and deception.

WOW.. @ 25:48 that stopped me in my tracks.. I really needed that . To hear someone say exactly what I've been starting to finally notice myself doing for most of my life is comforting . Not that I wish it upon anyone. It's a sickening feeling when you don't know how to tell someone no and just do what they want because you can't say no(too afraid).

My sister I study with, questioned herself with her teaching the bible truth by with her job as a nurse. I guess that was a personal conflict and she prayed privately, someone at work noticed her stressed, and kindly let her reason for herself of the reasoning of the need for others to understand God's word and live by faith .

I’m back listening to you. I like quiet to focus not a lot of hype. I need God’s help because of self sabotage. I need to learn to like myself. Lord had to almost completely pull me away from people altogether, because I was so bad at people pleasing. The process took about 15 years. It's not easy when you're young and in the social approval phase of life.

Oooooh Praise Jesus 🙌 Joyce much love because you tell it to us straight so we can be free, not a parrot nor mechanical, we've got to be transparent. Honestly it'll really exacerbate any sort of mental illness because the LORD is the SPIRIT of TRUTH although it can be incredibly painful but uncovering all that infection, debris, & residue that's smothering us underneath how else can we submit our personality although shattered and even frayed we're in the perfect posture to receive our healing. I'm speaking from personal experience 😌. I've experienced childhood/adulthood abuses including my having been a co-conspirator seeped in self-hatred & low self worth. I've always been an incessant people pleaser even to endangering my life.. But that's never really the end of the story. The Holy Spirit is a Keeper even 🙌 in times internally when 🤔 I didn't want to be kept and dealt with a spirit of suicide since I was 8 & 1/2... But GOD has delivered 🙌 me but its also daily we've got to recognize and acknowledge those mini sized victories to actually appreciate the progress within the process. He's delivered me also from deep-seated shame, abandonment issues, incessant fears, and feeling sorry 😞 4 myself because those pity parties are toxic and draining. He surely does provide us a plethora of means of escapes, a Holy Spirit filled church, a support system of accountable christians, our own personal relationship with JESUS, and also a good therapist and if needed medication. There's absolutely no shame in this I've had a couple of therapist that are also strong believers in Christ. While we're yielding to the LORD and being perfected we're Blessed 🙌 to strengthen and encourage others to finally unmask so that they also can be delivered & freed in JESUS mighty name 🙌

When people ask if your ok they honestly don't want to know..... So I answer them when I'm not ok, God's got me and I'm going to be ok.... Some people ask not wanting you to be ok!!
I agree that some ppl do only ask when they want to pry into your business or they don’t want things to be ok bc they heard already your struggling. It’s like they need to confirm it.

Living a pleasing life to GOD can be hard because we have to be like JESUS to people that crucified us like they did JESUS but he gives peace,love,mercy,compassion etc. To endure it and we eventually will go to heaven😁 in the other hand if you live without GOD your life will be hell in this world then hell forever🔥 easy choice, I choose to please the LORD😇

What I am hearing is, from this ivory tower I must be pleasant , or, if I am not pleasant All of the time , I am needing medicine.
