In asian countries their makeup is more about enhancing your natural beauty and making it look like you’re not wearing makeup so instead of heavy foundation, contour, etc they focus more on that natural beauty so skincare is definitely a big part of it

I’m Asian and not we are not obsessed with skin care. It’s just that when you have good skin, it’s easier to find basic make up that works for you without hiding your natural beauty. While I admire creating different looks with make up, It’s simply not practical and too time and energy consuming to have to live up to a certain look. Hence good skin care definitely outweighs thick make up.
i would say we def invest in products that make us look younger and overall our skin healthier, our skincare is much more complex and we have minimal makeup(most of the time)

Actually its just an assumption that Koreans so a ton of steps, Charlotte Cho actually invented the concept of the 10 step routine but in actual Korea its actually popular to find multi-purpose products and only you products you need. the 10 step never caught on in Korea, its only popular because of Charlotte Cho and it going viral on social media in the US and western contries

hey not really an assumption.. I know alot of Korean friends that do this, but not as much as 10 steps (maybe 5 or 6) and this is usually done at night. And they use different stuff during morning & night but still there is a step by step process.
klm 415 yea you're right.... there is an exfoliating and face mask step, but people usually do it 2 times a week or at night for face masks. It's usually just face wash, toner, essence, eye cream, mosturizer and sun screen. Hahaha
I'm 16 and been doing the Korean skincare since I was 15 bruh. It doesn't have to be complete 10 steps. Just do what works for you. I do 4-6 steps cause it works for me. I've learned the importance of skincare coz of k-beauty and now I enjoy my skincare time!

Don't be discouraged! You can try it, even if you have acne! Notice how she uses a Korean skincare regimen...they're known to help clear up your skin. It's good to talk to a dermatologist too.

my face once so full of acne, white & black head. also large pore! but till my grandma recommend to me to use olive oil before goin to bed and after wakeup everyday. my skin gettin better everyday. I've use this olive oil like 1 and half year. i can assure you my skin look just like her now. try use olive oil as your makeup base, makeup remover, lip balm, moisturizer. :) natural product is always better actually

***** Not really, I don't think so. Tbh I don't really remember (since I ran out a couple of months ago), only that there was a faint fresh scent. I would say that everything smelled like professional skincare brand. The foam did smell (a lot) and feel like soap, tho. (But I guess that's the way they like it, I personally like gels for my cleansing) Lip balm was a lot of fun, it had a minty feel on the lips and the texture was amazing, even though I hate this kind of lip balms when you have to stick your finger in it. ^^
I got the toner and face masks!! So good

dermo care is way cheaper in korea. what you don't see are all the treatments done in a doctor's office, good diet, genes, and general culture for "natural" beauty (psst it's not actually all natural) that floats around in korea.

Why the hell do you need makeup? If i had skin like yours , then makeup and me would be miles apart.
They need makeup for the lighting sometimes. BUT I hear Korean girls wear makeup no matter what. Even going to the supermarket or dentist or visiting family. They get dolled up. Korea has quite a superficial society, especially if you live in Seoul. You hardly ever see people walking out of the house with sweats on and their hair messy.

i watched both tiffany and jessicas. i can see the difference in personalities. like jessica is alot more subdued and calm while tiffany is more upbeat and bubbly
Her English is so much better than it used to be in her SNSD days. Going to fashion school in NY must have helped her revive her vocabulary and accent.
I'm also so glad she doesn't have to commit to the whole "cutesy" act anymore, she's so sexy now that she's allowed to act her age.

The 6-step is a bit over the top, in my opinion. It's your basic cleanser, toner, and moisturizer, but then there's cleansing "milks", face mists, face masks, scrubs, peels, all sorts of stuff. Keep in mind that Korea is very skin-oriented, they basically think the Sun is the devil. While you may see the two-step cleansing process promoted in various media, the 6-step process will always be existent.

I think that's the point of korean beauty. they tend to not wear heavy makeup and they make it more natural looking. it's just used to correct the little flaws on their face.
