    Thanks for this great video Brad! Entertaining and informative, love it. Question, when the plant is kept in water, do you put any sort of water fertilizer or anything like that to feed the plants? Thanks again!

    All of mine are in water. The leaves on two are starting to droop. Clean water, indirect sun, everything looks fine, no yellow or brown leaves...Should I worry or snip the stem below the leaves?

    So I was wondering if you could link what you use exactly for your potting soil and any kind of nutrients adding stuff, down below because I actually have three avocados that are growing and have opened and they’re in water and one avocado that I just started growing from soil from the beginning and it’s actually growing it has a stem and leaves coming out of the top and seems super happy but if I wanted to put the other avocados that are in water right now into soil I’d really like to have some enrichment or the correct soil. Thank you so much.

    Hi Brad! I love what you do here! Thank you! My Avo seeds seem to start having white spots. I started washing them (gently) when I change the water but they come back...also, it’s hard to clean the area close tho the stem. How do you deal with these white spots?

    • @beachesbonfires2536
      @beachesbonfires2536 3 роки тому +7

      They love indirect sunlight. At least mine do. If they're leaves start turning brown and crispy they are getting burnt from the sunlight. Hope that helps even though you asked 6 months ago lol

  • @beachesbonfires2536

    I have 3 going now...and 2 more that I just started. These are very addicting!! After I put the 3 into soil after being in water those first three leaves ended up falling off but new leaves did grow and all 3 avocado plants are taking off! I hope to keep them indoors as long as possible. I live in US Pennsylvania and avocado trees will not survive outdoors here since the ground freezes. Unless someone knows how to keep them in PAs climate? If you do please tell me. They are not tall enough to worry about it for awhile so once they are I will have to find them a warm home to go love at. Or maybe...I will move south so I can keep them? 😂

    Is the saucer under the terracotta pot glazed? If not the moisture will soak through to the furniture or floor o what ever is underneath it. I am guessing you already realised that, just in case though...

    Loved the video! I have two on the go in a bag and one directly in water 🥑🌱 How often do you water them, when they're planted? And why do they get brown leaves? Had one that died and I sooo want to succeed 😂😇

    • @bradcanning
      @bradcanning  4 роки тому +3

      Emilie Bort main reason is overwatering. I water about once every 2 weeks. just make sure the soil dries out between

    Hello! 🙋🏽‍♀️ How long does the seed need to be in the snaplock bag for, before it sprouts? Mines been in there for at least a month and still nothing 😤

    • @bradcanning
      @bradcanning  4 роки тому +3

      ciaramaree sometimes it can take AGES!! I’d 100% recommend having a few on the go at a time to get the ones that sprout earlier. I’ve had some that sprout in 10 days and others take MUCH longer. keep at it tho! the humidity will make it grow!

    Hi Brad! I've tried the paper towel method a couple of times and I've gotten roots pretty quickly! But when I transfer to water, the roots go black and stop growing. Has this ever happened to you, and have you figured out a way to stop it from happening?
