GREAT reaction to LIVING LEGEND, Ms. Patti 'BADASS' Labelle. She is a vocal BEAST. In her prime (up to her late 60's) she was UNTOUCHABLE.
Vocally, she was on another level of pure greatness. Patti Labelle and her musical director, the LATE, GREAT James 'Bud' Ellison, co-wrote "You Are My Friend." Together, they were the original DYNAMIC DUO. His arrangements during her live performances, were 2nd to none.

I can't tell you how many times I got to see Patti live. Even got lucky enough to see her at a couple of amusement parks in the early 90's. This is her signature song. Always brings down the house. You should also check out "Isn't It A Shame" that she did while she was with the group "Labelle." Probably my favorite by her....... Love your channel. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely wonderful! As great as this live performance is, please check out the studio version. A bit different and well produced. Also, another great version was done by Sylvester with Two Tons Of Fun/The Weather Girls backing him up.
