Theory I guess: I've done some research, idk if it's accurate but Vulcan is known to have been "born ugly" or is just straight up ugly, which I didn't wanna believe at first because he looks so adorable in your design but anyways, I think he insults and torments Aphrodite because Aphrodite is the planet of Love and Beauty.
