- Every spring, parks across Toronto turn white and pink with cherry blossoms. The Sakura trees are a gift from Japan - and a reminder of one of the most disturbing chapters in Canadian history.

Victoria has had Sakura trees since before the war. More than one thousand were planted throughout Victoria in 1937 to commemorate Victoria's 75th anniversary of incorporation.
They blossom for more than two months of the year from mid-February to late April.

I love that he delivers the stories aways in a paced and eloquent fashion, indifferently if it's at a desolate location, or coming out of a café and sharing path with bystanders at a park. The constant storyteller.
I used to live at Bellwoods and Robinson... Tuesday night drum circles... my lord I miss Bellwoods park.

My favourite place to see them is at Cherry Street and Villiers. Helps I live nearby but it's compact and not as busy as other locations.
It's a pity you couldn't come to see cherry blossoms in their splendor in Vancouver. I mean, they're not just in parks and the viewing season is widely celebrated here on a scale much larger than in Toronto.
Do they float in the air approximately 6 inches above the ground?

@@thesage1096 Kind of, actually it goes back to my sister's wedding about 18 years ago. My uncle was having a good time and crowd surfing, but from a distance it looked like he was floating in the air, approximately 6 inches above the ground. This is how my cousin described it. Interestingly enough, I haven't seen my cousin in about 10 years - the last time I met him was when I bumped into him at the beer store.

Let's just completely forget everything that the Japanese did during the worst war in history. Let's forget about the cruelty and the atrocities. Let's forget the racism and the arrogance. Get out the whips. It's time for self-flagellation once again.
It's a sad fact that many immigrants hold allegiance to their country of origin. Internment camps, although unpopular these days, were, and are necessary in war time. Think I'm wrong? Take a look at the Palestinian protests all across the world right now. They don't care at all about Canada or whatever country they live in now. Their allegiance is with their terrorist middle eastern origins. A nation can be politically correct with disastrous results, or take the necessary precautions to keep their country/citizens safe.

Holy shit the content is interesting but your delivery is insufferable. Your cadence is bizarre and your intonation is extremely unnatural. You sound like you’re doing a bad impression of Mr. Burns from _The Simpsons_ or something. Setting the video to 1.25 speed helps _partially_ but it’s still enough to make me want to avoid your videos altogether-especially since you’re not providing cold captions, which is a matter of accessibility, I mean _come on_
