I did say Uluru instead of Ulu…so pretend I said Ulu. Also, I know people can interpret the game’s story in different ways. This is how I interpreted the story and why it became my favorite event so far so please be nice! I would like to hear your interpretations and how you have connected with the game as well! Unfortunately not many people make content on reverse:1999, but this game is a true masterpiece. the writing and storytelling is a masterpiece and every single word and reference is so cleverly chosen, especially how there are even themes showing the truth of a modern capitalist world in the words of forget me not
You may or may not know but the name of the first 4 chapters of the story are all names of actual books, In Our Time is a book by Hemingway, Tender is the night is a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald which is about his wife who looks very similar in appearance to Schneider, nouvelles et textes pour rien is a work of Samuel Beckett and it means "Texts and stories for nothing" and El Oro de los tigres is a collection of poems which means "the gold of the tigers" and this reference is also present at madam Z's birthday when the text writes "will a doe become a tigress?"
This game has truly swept me off my feet, and thank you for making content on reverse!

Every time I learn something new about Reverse: 1999 I’m absolutely amazed! Hearing that even the names of the chapters have meaning is making me love it even more. I hope that someone who is better with lore stuff than me can pick up the game. I would love more lore content for sure!

Stand up against that Ezra slander... He's my favorite character from the game. I love how selfless he is and how he is devoted to his work even despite being so young. He's such a sweetheart, even remaining so after people are cruel or cold to him. His little side story had me fuming because of how the others treated him. Honestly I would die for him.

I just love how they wrote the fight between ezra and Spathodea it felt rather authentic to how it can feel when a person of an opressed group and one of the privillaged side fight about social issues when the privilliged one just doesnt know better

It’s saddening to see some UA-camrs just drop making Reverse: 1999 content because it just doesn’t garner as much views as other Gacha games. I am glad to see you so immersed in the story and spreading the joy of Reverse: 1999 because the game deserves it.

"We focus on producing creative and touching game works, bringing fun to fans with a concrete dream world. Game art like the starry sky in the universe, and your aura will shine in it." -Bluepoch
Bluepoch really did well with the stories and stayed true to what they said, even tho it's just an event story that serves as a filler they actually put in the effort.
Really happy I downloaded this game main story and events are so great, the characters writing just super enjoyable their emotions felt so real with the diversity of their accents it makes more immersive heck I also played with jp dub the VA's also doing great with portraying the characters even tho it doesn't have any accents it's still pretty good compared to hsr, art style just so beautiful especially with how they used kinda like painting in canvas style(idk what it calls) example monalisa it's just so different from the typical gacha games even the vibe/atmosphere idk to say but like I should take a breather. The game is truly beautiful just like a starry sky that I can't help but keep my gaze in awe.
I wouldn't be surprised if in another timeline bluepoch is produce films or even a museum/art gallery.

Reverse's storytelling is absolutely brilliant. They're never surface-level - there's always something to see and read in between the lines of every story and it makes the world we get lost in feels so alive.
The fact that this event alone has so many themes to take away from is proof of that. The revival of ancient traditions, the dark side of sports, regrets, taking accountability, and unity triumphing over prejudice. It's a little happy anecdote in a world filled with tragedy and hate, and I love that.
I'm always interested in hearing what people think of these stories. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your experiences with it. Seeing how much it resonated with you (and on multiple instances, no less) has been touching, and I'm sure Reverse's stories also have the same effect on other people and that's because each and every character they show are so grounded and real. Even with Arcanum out of the conversation, the experiences and struggles of people like Blonney, Tooth Fairy, Kaala Bauna and Kumar, Spathodea and Ezra, and so many others are shared by people in the real world. It's stories we could relate to and sympathize with, and that's what makes them excellent!
What a wonderful game, what a wonderful video. Great job and congrats on completing the event!

Thank you so much! Your response is exactly what I think! Every story has so much to tell. I feel like everyone can find a character that they can relate to. The story is just that good. That is why this game skyrocketed to one of my favorites. It’s almost scary to think I almost decided not to play it. Now I feel like it’s made my life better in many ways. I’m excited to see new events, meet new characters, and witness new stories. 🫶

I love Reverse 1999 because of how human the characthers can be the writing of the characthers feel so real , so humanize on a way , is also one of the few games that have made me sympathize with a characther and to actually relate to them , to resonate with them , like Bloney , Kumar , Forget me not ,Druvis III and SPATHODEA, and as you say it always comes at the right time to open my eyes in a way of a lesson that needs to be learn. Aswell as I have never being so invested on the story , the story writting makes an impact on me honestly , one of the best games . Thanks you for covering this games !

Love how you interpreted the story. This was certainly a very interesting event due to the nuanced arguments on both sides, but I was really happy we got an ending that celebrates unity and acceptance over an ending where one side "wins" over the other.

thank you for this amazing video essay!! ive been waiting to see smth like this for r1999, esp for the 1.5 event story bc of how it expands on the lore of the obvious divide between humans and arcanists in such a good way.
i really do love how the story makes it clear that both spathodea and ezra are misguided kids with very different lives and experiences and wrong assumptions of humans and arcanists respectively. with spathodea, we've seen in most of the r1999 stories so far that humans generally treat arcanists horribly, which is what spathodea most likely knew or had to deal with too, and we do see that shes had to deal with the realization that she has a bunch of limitations as an arcanist athlete compared to a human, and i feel like thats why her being so confrontational towards ezra is understandable? and she does immediately regret being harsh towards him too and admits to her mistakes and wrong views bc shes still learning, and its a very sweet character arc imo.. while with ezra, we only learn more about how hes truly genuine with his kindness later on in the story, bc he basically states how "biologically, arcanists tend to get more emotional, hysterical and delusional than humans" which is. far from a good first impression even tho hes only explaining it from a scientific view to be more understanding of the other people in the group in his own way. he doesnt know about arcanist-specific struggles too and only learns more about it with desert flannel, and he ends up understanding how spathodea most likely went through the same thing after he empathizes with the arcanist athletes. after everything, i feel like its really meaningful to have these two kids finally make up and be the ones to start bridging the gap between humans and arcanists, bc its as if theyre truly representing a new beginning for humans and arcanists 😭😭
and yeah, i really liked hearing your thoughts on this event and how it resonated with you a lot, which really is the charm of r1999's storytelling with how the characters are written so real that a lot of people can see parts of themselves in them. you also really nailed the ezra bits!! hes one of my favorite characters and hes very endearing bc of how hes extremely compassionate and thoughtful towards everyone, but at the same time he really is innocently ignorant and insensitive at times and its such a good contrast. tldr you did such a wonderful job on this analysis 🫶🫶

what an amazing video essay! i was so excited to hear your thoughts and your video brought tears to my eyes!! there is something truly special about reverse 1999's story telling that makes it so unique and touching. it's like i can feel the passion and care that the writers have put into weaving these stories and characters. also the amount of cultural research that they do in order to portray cultures so well. every character is dare i say so human. they are flawed, they learn and grow before our eyes and we learn so much about ourselves through their journeys by empathizing with their experiences. at the end of every event i'm always thinking that it is not possible for them to outdo this story and they prove me wrong every single time. i feel like a saw pieces of my childhood self in both spathodea and ezra. seeing them work together in the end made me sob so much

This update was a bit exhausting to play. But I cheered myself up with my SRC (Spatho-Racism-Counter. She caped out at 6 SRC) that I updated in our Discord group every seperate time Spathodea did a racism! ._: XD
It was nice to see her get around in the end, and it was nice to see Vertin and most of all Mr Slouch Hat step in the propaganda battle in the end, since they where massively better in this type in conflict than any of the revival squat!
ALso, I loved how the Bunyip monsters are shown to react to lies and truth, making the propaganda of the journalist the perfect conduit to translate into a monster boss battle without conflating and leaving the core story too much!
